Great video and explanation. Thanks for mentioning things like having to continuously pressing the "continue" button for live stream. It's things like that which are important for consumer use to know but they dont necessarily always disclose.
Having to push the “continue” button every 30 seconds is super annoying! I own the indoor Blink and have for about 2 years. I asked Blink customer service about it and their reply was... “so the batteries do not die quicker”. The consumer pays for the batteries, so imo they should make it our choice, and add it to their settings if we want continuous live stream or not.
Fantastic review! I just ordered the Blink XT 3 camera kit, I can't wait to have it up and running. Having being robbed recently and the few internal cameras I did have, I wanted to have something outside to help prevent another robbery. I think these will do the job nicely.
I think its good to have a camera like that. to secure and easily know what fhappening in your surrounding. And it has many features that is very useful
Great information, grate camera . I purchased a set of them first time when it came in to the market I would like to add some thing that I experienced from using blink which that the sync Module has Weak signal to bridge between the camera and the WiFi specially if the camera located in a blind spot . I am not sure if anyone have had that issue. Beside the points he mentioned in his presentation . But overall they are good cameras easy to set and you can relocate them anywhere at anytime , Thanks
Interesting video. I need more information about the range of the camera to the sync module and my smart phone. Can I hang the camera in the parking lot near my apartment building and still view it from my apartment?
Thanks Taylor! You can put your Blink camera up to 100 feet away from the sync module in any direction. For more info, see my written review here: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Yes, you'll be notified in the "settings" section of the Blink app. See our written review for more information: securitybaron.com/camera-reviews/blink-xt-indoor-review/ Thanks for watching! - Gabe
Great review. I'm seriously considering this system. I have already tried a wireless system from a major tool supplier that I took back because all I could get was "no signal detected" unless the camera was placed a few feet from the receiver. I have also tried using a trail camera but it was useless because recording was sporadic and when it did record, the camera only recorded the subject walking away from the door. I'm hoping Blink will work better than that.
Hi Franklin, Go into the Blink app and tap the Sync Module icon in the bottom lefthand corner. Then it'll bring you to a page that has a category for Wi-Fi. Just click on that and you'll be able to add your Wi-Fi. For more info, see my written review of the Blink XT2: bit.ly/2NXTcFn
I own both cameras. There are great, the only thing is the claim that the battery's life is 2 year battery, they don't! Other than that, great video security camera. Also, BLINK honors their warranty without a hassle. One more comment, you can arm and disarm single cameras. I have 9 cameras on perimeter zone and 10 on interior zone.
That's great to hear, other than the battery life! Battery life is heavily affected by how often the camera records, so that could be a factor. And I'll make that update about controlling multiple cameras in the reviews. Thanks for watching! - Gabe
Hi Ricardo, No, you'll need a Wi-Fi connection for the Blink cameras to work, but Blink says that might change in the future. Here's our written review for more details: securitybaron.com/camera-reviews/blink-xt-indoor-review/ - Gabe
I'm not sure that this would make a good body camera, but that's not my area of expertise so unfortunately I can't speak to this. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
No this is not designed as a body camera I'd go for either a Guardian G1 or a Defender body cam I personally use for security job a Defender 1080p night vision very good battery
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃! Great video! Very detailed explanation… I wanted to know if I could use the microphone feature through my Smart Phone or did I have to purchase the Alexa device for that?
I have had mine a couple of years. 2 month battery life on a garage camera, if you are lucky. We had to hard wire ours. The delivery man is gone and up the drive way before we get a notification. I wish I had known this before I invested in this system.
Out of these two, definitely the Blink XT. It has 1080p HD plus 3x zoom, and better night vision. See our written comparison of the Blink Indoor vs. the Blink XT here for more details: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Hello Security Baron! Is there a way to have the camera armed and recording clips without sending notifications 24 hours a day? (I just purchased the indoor only version package of 5 on Amazon.)
Yep, here are the steps- To disabled motion notification, please follow the steps below. 1. From the Blink app, tap on Notifications from the Manage Account side menu. 2. Make sure that the toggle is set to on. 3. Disable word "Motion Notification" . For ore information, see my full written review: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Hi @Kimsherri, Gabe here. Yes, but some people complain that the lag between detecting motion and recording are too slow. Just something to think about, it not being simultaneous per se.
Great camera if you want to watch the bad squirrels destroy your flower bed but if someone breaks into your home you’ll get about 5 seconds of video lol
Hey Security Baron, what is your recommendation for an inexpensive basic setup for security cameras? I would like the two way audio, infra red and 1080p.
Hi Moby, this is Gabe. Lot of details go into answering that question adequately. Most of the cameras we have reviewed, for example, will come equipped with 2-way audio, infra red, and 1080p. Do you want these indoor or outdoor? Some more details may be helpful to responsibly answer your question. Thanks!
I'm not happy with mine! You know the story... They were working great, until the update... Yea they have not worked properly since. Batteries died (owned them for just under a year), live view not working, snapshot not working, and the new features "activity zones" never worked properly from the start. Blink support had me reset and restart everything nine times so far. Not happy. Taking out a bank loan to buy a full Google nest system. 😅😩😣
FYI the MIC on the XT2 is worse than the Blink Original, i believe due to the Waterproofing capabilities. Kinda a downside tbh from my research and my intentions for the product. Ill have to go with the first version as this is for monitoring my elderly grandmother when im away incase she falls or needs help.
Thanks for this! But, I got questions!!.. Soo, Video is only really on when it detects motion!? And I can't get the app on a computer screen or Smart Tv, right? Therefore, I can't just sit in the living-room & watch the outside of my house all day like a fucking psychopath!? ..And what exactly does the Alexa integration even do then? Just notifies me every damn time a lief blows by!? ...Perhaps this is not the system for me..
The camera records when it detects motion, and you can schedule when you want the camera to arm and disarm. The app only works on mobile, so your phone or tablet. And the Alexa integration allows for voice commands. Sounds like you have a lot of questions! The written review might help: securitybaron.com/camera-reviews/blink-xt-indoor-review/
Hi Seti, Yes, this camera works in temperatures from -4 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit and has an IP rating of 65, completely protecting it from solids and low-pressure water jets. Basically, as long as it's not sprayed with high-power water jets (wider than 6 mm) or immersed in water, it'll work through the winter. More info on my written review: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Totally depends on what you're looking for! Professional or self-monitoring, DIY or professional installation, etc. Let me know what you want and I'll make a recommendation from there. Thanks!
I would definitely check out SimpliSafe: securitybaron.com/system-reviews/simplisafe-review/ or if you don't want professional monitoring, abode: securitybaron.com/system-reviews/abode-essentials-starter-kit/ Hope that helps! - Gabe
So I've had the blank for roughly a year xt2. Battery life not so bad definitely not two years especially on a commonly used door. Maybe something remotely yes. Problem I have is short intermittent videos 125 seconds long not showing any video any value at all. If someone leaves the house it may only get the door opening. Or someone comes to the house and I only get the nose of the vehicle entering the driveway. Problem is it has to enter the cloud and frankly the clouds sucks ass. Is your internet is not super stellar don't count on it working very well.

I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
You repeated yourself numerous times about how long batteries last! I've had mine a while & already have changed them numerous times! Replace is the word I see! I have both.
Just remembered - you can also down load recordings to you computer. Most recordings are either 5 orc10 seconds long. That's 720 - - 10 second recordings. There should be no reason to save this many recording. In theory you only want to arm the system when you are asleep or away - thus few actual recordings should occur. This is a battery operated system - it can't perform like a true wired/powered system.
Great video and explanation. Thanks for mentioning things like having to continuously pressing the "continue" button for live stream. It's things like that which are important for consumer use to know but they dont necessarily always disclose.

Did you ever had to use the microphone feature? If so, did you use it through your phone or on the Alexa device?
Can the indoor camera work and pick up movement pointing toward your outside door?
Interesting video. I need more information about the range of the camera to the sync module and my smart phone. Can I hang the camera in the parking lot near my apartment building and still view it from my apartment?

Would you recommend this for a body camera, if there was a secure way to mount it. What could you recommend for body cameras?
I'm not sure that this would make a good body camera, but that's not my area of expertise so unfortunately I can't speak to this. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
No this is not designed as a body camera I'd go for either a Guardian G1 or a Defender body cam I personally use for security job a Defender 1080p night vision very good battery
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃!
Great video! Very detailed explanation…
I wanted to know if I could use the microphone feature through my Smart Phone or did I have to purchase the Alexa device for that?
It works through your smart phone.
I have the original blink camera indoors, and the XT2 outdoors, and it lets me disarm them separately, so I can have one armed and one not.
Very cool, a sort of home mode! Here's a full written comparison if you're interested: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Thanks for sharing!!
I heard on the X in night vision if you get too close your face gets white and hard to tell who you are
not true, I have 9 outdoor cameras and they work great.
How do you actívate the infrared
The infrared should come on automatically when it's dark out. See my written review here for more info: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
How will you compare Eufy 2C vs Blink XT for indoor and outdoor? If have pets, does both camera catch their moves and battery gone fast?
I have had mine a couple of years. 2 month battery life on a garage camera, if you are lucky. We had to hard wire ours. The delivery man is gone and up the drive way before we get a notification. I wish I had known this before I invested in this system.
Very good! Can you view video through regular internet, not mobile?
Hi Vanetta, thanks for watching! Yes, you just have to download the Blink for desktop app- blink.watch/support/desktopapp/
What the best camera to set up far away with no wifi or electric? Great video , and info . Just want your opinion.
Hi,
I only review cameras that hook up to Internet so you can control them remotely via your app. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
Diooos me encantaría tener esa cámara. Excelente video ;)
What camera do you recommend
Out of these two, definitely the Blink XT. It has 1080p HD plus 3x zoom, and better night vision. See our written comparison of the Blink Indoor vs. the Blink XT here for more details: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
Hello Security Baron! Is there a way to have the camera armed and recording clips without sending notifications 24 hours a day? (I just purchased the indoor only version package of 5 on Amazon.)
Yep, here are the steps-
To disabled motion notification, please follow the steps below.

2. Make sure that the toggle is set to on.
3. Disable word "Motion Notification" .

Good information dude, great camera ever
Will the audio activate the Blink XT to record?
No, motion will activate the Blink XT to record. See my written review here for more info: bit.ly/2TC8fWM
So what wireless cameras do you recommend?
Definitely check out the Blink XT2, the latest iteration: bit.ly/2NXTcFn
Blink is coming out with a new cam, just got it today , they send it to me for beta test . If you want some pics let me know.
I need something simple and apartment friendly to watch my parking lot where I live any ideas.
The Blink XT2 is a good option- bit.ly/2NXTcFn
Upon motion detection, the camera automatically records for a pre-designated amount of time, correct?
Hi @Kimsherri, Gabe here. Yes, but some people complain that the lag between detecting motion and recording are too slow. Just something to think about, it not being simultaneous per se.
Nice explanation! Well done.
Does the original blink come in black also ? The black just goes better with my decor
I don't think so! But the XT works well indoor if you want to match your decor and have a more versatile camera.
Shat is the best wireless cameras for outdoor use with cloud recording
Great camera if you want to watch the bad squirrels destroy your flower bed but if someone breaks into your home you’ll get about 5 seconds of video lol
Great video !!!
Great video! Could you do a review of the "Reolink Argus 2"?
Coming up in 2019 ;)

You can delete recordings & recover those seconds. It will also delete recordings automatically - you need to set this up.
