You are wayyyyy too focused on motion tracking for a cheap camera base. This doesn't need that, and this is not meant for that. It's a fun cheap option. If you want that feature, get a real security camera that focuses on that
First recognize that not everything is the "ferrari" - Blink is a budget solution and is (like Ring) is also owned by Amazon and designed to appeal to a different audience. I think this review was unnecessarily harsh. Its a PTZ solution that may be added to existing cameras and give customers a way to monitor pets, rooms, wider angles without additional cameras (while away from the house). Second, never assume the best version is released straight out of the gate. Think of this from a sales perspective, Blink leaves room for a future improvement which would create a whole new surge of sales later featuring a wanted upgrade. Summarizing, I disagree with your perspective here. While nothing you said is incorrect, I think you just aren't representing it fairly for what it is.
Hey Keith! Thanks for your input. And I'd agree. Blink is great if you just want the basics. But we've come across better "basics" in our testing. The PTZ stand does feel like a clever solution for an already existing camera (it just looks really goofy imo)
Question: Do you need a suscribtion to have notifications and full function on your phone? Or will it work with your Wi-Fi? I personally don't need recorded video storage, just need a notification to quickly look at who enters a room.
Unfortunately, you need a subscription or Blink's Sync Module 2 to get most of the features. Here's more details on that: www.amazon.com/b?node=21154643011&maas=maas_adg_api_5916655800301_macro_1_1&ref_=aa_maas&aa_campaignid=15518138042&aa_adgroupid=134561806047&aa_creativeid=ad-639955464709_kwd-926632757900_dev-c_ext-&gclid=CjwKCAiAv9ucBhBXEiwA6N8nYG7IBS9MyPflWGynYrCljq6QjYVYQeXhJPhdrlAgzLp1yVZJ15eVuRoCvuUQAvD_BwE
There are! Brands like Reolink, Lorex, and Eufy are some of my favorites. They use local storage instead of the cloud. There are pros and cons to both methods, but by using your own microSD card to store recordings, you don't have to pay anyone else to do it for you.@@rossydv
@@asksafewise thank you. But if someone steals the camera then out of luck! Any cameras that will use YOUR cloud? Any opinion on AlfredCam? It’s what I’m leaning towards . Especially at $32. It worked no kidding through the return period and stopped. It is the pan tilt mount that does not work. Blinks answer? Turn router on and off. (But the device is not firing on) delete device and install (ok i can delete but the device does not turn on to reinstall) unplug it and plug it up again after 30 minutes (nope) detach camera and check in another cord ( so I have to buy another device to see if the one i own works). It works until it doesnt and amazon wont even let you review it any longer.
I like mine. I'd never mount to a wall. Wouldn't need motion tracking. What's the need. It's a cheap camera what do u expect. Works well for the money. Why I have 10 blink cams on my Home. If blink want it to do motion tracking they can update the app at any time. I'm just not into motion tracking some one breaks in they will slap it on the ground. It's better to have a indoor blink cam mounted high near the ceiling. Blink is basic not a 100 dollar cam. They r 30 bucks now I rate this cam a 10. Came with base and cam I got it for 18 bucks. 😂
why does this have only 10 thumbs up, and 4 (now 5) comments.. this is a great review, well edited, engaging voice, well spoken, very good presenter.. nice vice... i would say what does my opinion mean but I have watched 100's of hours of videos and im very judging and mean.. this is great i keep looking at the 10 thumbs up expecting to realsie its really 10k... This is pushing as good a quality review as i have ever seen, this lady needs more exposure....
Because of her 'this is so crap' attitude, starting with the video description. Huge turn off! Just tell me how it works, or what it can improve upon, without the attitude!

Perfect for watching your pets
I like this camera. It's affordable, works well, and is simple to set up.
Reviewer seems to miss the idea of a moveable mount.
Can I install this upside down and rotate the image on the app?
Yes
You can purchase just the Base for $30.00 The screw mount on the bottom is for a Tripod !
You are saying that this device is "cartoony"? This is going to work just right for my application.

The app describes as having HD video by day and night. Does it work properly? Do you think it could be used as a baby monitor?
Sure! I think this or the Blink Mini would be a really fitting baby monitor.
Clearly you are a ring fan girl and bashing blink
How about the Wyze cam v3

Lame review.... obviously bias and weirdly negative review.....
Which makes me regret buying it is bc I want it to look around without me scrolling in the app
This thing’s base is absurdly unnecessary in size.
Goofy? I think he’s cute 🥺
lack of motion tracking a biggie
Her voice so depressing, i Had to move further
They are cute and my dog liked it a lot and she chewed it up and killed it …Lol
Can it be used without amazon subscription ?
While they're all under the Amazon umbrella, Blink subs are their own thing.
