Glad it was helpful Blakestar 1. I did forget to mention that does no do live tracking. Once it detects motion, you will have to pull up live view if you want to pan and tilt.
Unfortunately, it cannot automatically track and follow people. This camera from eufy does an excellent job with automatic tracking though: ruclips.net/video/PLUAeljMqoc/видео.html
You have to press and hold down the direction you want it to pan or tilt. It is manual control and doesn't have any automatic motion tracking. I hope that helps.
Honestly this is a pretty good tool to use with completely other stuff as well. For example you could use it for a Webcam setup, or just in general for a camera to do some panning. Could also be used with 3d printed brackets to hold something
Yea you're right, there's other uses for this if someone 3D prints an attachment piece. However, the only way to access the pan and tilt controls is through the Blink App when you do a live view of the mini indoor camera. Someone would have to create a third-party app I guess to access those features.

I don't think there was a glitch. When the screen asks "continue?" you need to click it or it will stop. I have a couple of these cams. I'm buying the Pan Tilt Mount!
Hey Marcela, you're right. It was asking if I wanted to continue, but I thought that since I was actively panning, it would assume that I'm using it and I would want to continue.
the glitch that is experienced at the extreme end of rotation maybe the fault of a current spike in the DC motor when the drive hits the stop. a stalled DC motor will loose its "Back EMF" on stall and its current will try to do a "divide by zero"... this may cause the logic supply voltage to fail. a software fix would take a few degrees off the range so the hardware never reaches a hard stop. a test maybe to manually rotate to a stop and then try to rotate further by the app... if the glitch reliably occurs under those conditions... you've got your answer.
Hey Jim, thanks for that in-depth explanation. Another viewer mentioned that I experienced that issue because I did not tap on the "Continue" prompt while I was panning the camera. In my eyes, that is a design flaw, because if a user is ACTIVELY panning, why ask if they want to continue... especially on a camera unit that is permanently plugged into the wall and not battery-powered.
Unfortunately it does not. However, if you want that type of functionality, I highly recommend this camera instead: ruclips.net/video/PLUAeljMqoc/видео.html (It's the one I personally use). It's better in every way, better video quality, two cameras, no live view timeout limit, AI tracking, etc.
Hey Majestic Blasian, the subscription plan is optional. Right now I'm using it without the subscription plan because I have their Sync Module 2. The Sync Module 2 offloads some of the work from the camera and allows you to save videos on a USB drive that is attached to the sync module. If you get the subscription, you get cloud storage for video files, and the system is generally faster when pulling up live view and reviewing files for playback. I made a video here about it: ruclips.net/video/akSBK5Girts/видео.html You can also check out this page to see what's included because there are 2 subscription plans: support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/subscriptions-faq/subscription-faq#plans

I’m curious how often you find yourself adjusting the tilt back so that the camera is not capturing so much of the ground surface in front of it? for example, if you set this on your kitchen counter, how much of the countertop would be in the field of view when the camera is in the “home” position? If you adjusted the tilt back, so the camera looks more up, does it retain that tilt setting when you hit that 360 pan option?
Hey Benjamin, if you tilt the camera, it stays at that tilt position while panning. I took a video showing the camera moving and what you see in live view: drive.google.com/file/d/1WQPT-XAHg5OKQCwkwD9JdE-Wjz3yUeo6/view?usp=sharing
Hey Julie, it isn't wall mountable as it comes. Something like this could mount to your wall or ceiling, then the pan tilt module can be threaded into it: www.amazon.com/Fotoconic-Ceiling-thread-Expansion-Photography/dp/B076VB2YYM/ref=sr_1_4?crid=32IXO03PRBWL7&keywords=1%2F4%22+mount+wall&qid=1667916748&sprefix=1%2F4+mount+wall%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-4 or www.amazon.com/Meking-Overhead-Lighting-Photography-Ceiling/dp/B08BRZZ886/ref=sr_1_17_sspa?crid=32IXO03PRBWL7&keywords=1%2F4%22+mount+wall&qid=1667916788&sprefix=1%2F4+mount+wall%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-17-spons&psc=1
I have no clue why these small pieces of metal are this expensive btw.
How do I flip the camera?
You should be able to flip the camera view in the Blink app. Is that what you are asking?
Can this be mounted upside down?
Yep it can. There is a 1/4" thread on the underside. Photo showing it here: drive.google.com/file/d/1X5qj3bOwV7nSzW0T_wOf_q16YJ6bRmjz/view?usp=sharing
I actually just tilt the camera down by one increment, then I can see the surface it is on (for context), and the rest of the room. I took a video showing the camera moving and what you see in live view: drive.google.com/file/d/1WQPT-XAHg5OKQCwkwD9JdE-Wjz3yUeo6/view?usp=sharing
Is it wall mountable?
Hey Julie, it isn't wall mountable as it comes. Underneath the Pan Tilt Mount is a 1/4" thread hole though, so that you can affix something to your wall that has a 1/4" screw then you can attach the Pan Tilt Mount to it. If you don't want to do that, then you'd have to install some kind of floating bookshelf, then rest this on top of that.
I have a blink tilt pan like that my dad got
Thank you! Blink gave no information on how to remove the mount that comes with the Mini, nor how to attack it to the mount base.
Hey John, you're welcome. I actually had no idea how to do it too, so I just strong armed it. Companies are shipping less and less information or installation guides these days in the packaging.
Can I see a live video feed from working 20 miles away without a monthly subscription ? * My teen granddaughter wants to monitor her bedroom where her new kitten is at while she’s at school, and on lunch break
Hey there, yes, even without the monthly subscription, your granddaughter will be able to monitor her new kitten while using her phone's mobile data connection : ) Btw, if you haven't purchased any Blink products yet, I highly recommend the eufy Indoor Cam S350, which has way better video resolution and automatic panning and tracking, unlike the Blink Pan & Tilt unit, which does not have automatic tracking. You can check out my review of the eufy Indoor Cam S350 here: ruclips.net/video/PLUAeljMqoc/видео.html
@@DemCrumblies ~ Thank you for your quick reply. I’ll follow your advice!!
@@GEAE_Denny_L You're welcome! I'm excited for her, I remember getting my first kitten, which this tech existed at that time. Good luck!
@@DemCrumblies ~ Getting a 8 week old male Male Coon from the breeder tonight. Big bucks at $2,500. !!
Thanks again ! Glendale, Ohio
Mine won’t even turn on a green light what am I doing wrong
Hey Braden, you may have to press the reset button for a while until the lights reset then try again. Also remember that you have to connect to a WiFi network that is 2.4 Ghz, not 5.0 Ghz. If your WiFi network only has one name, you will have to go into your modem or router settings to split the WiFi network into two separate bands for 2.4 and 5.0.
❤
Do not depend on Stinks for security cams.
Lol I like that nickname Terry. If you're getting lots of latency, did you rule out making sure your internet connect is fast enough and the distance between the modem or router and the blink cameras is minimal?
you cant make it follow motion? Like for motion sensing if someone walked in it doesnt just automatically tilt to follow the person? Thats what i just assumed it did
Nope, it won't follow or track by itself unfortunately, quite disappointing, but I'm actually not too surprised. Blink's cameras have been slipping. I highly recommend this camera instead, which has up to 4K video, 2 camera lens and AI Auto Tracking: ruclips.net/video/PLUAeljMqoc/видео.html
@@DemCrumblies i already had got this one u made the video on from a promotion from something else the way its called tilt and is on the stand like that you would really think it had auto tracking though lol
Yea it pans and tilts, just not automatically, honestly Blink adds these features like afterthoughts it seems, which is why it is never full featured. I reviewed an indoor camera from eufy which has auto tracking and AI detection and is miles ahead of Blink.
Great video but those hands look a little weak, a USB-C so it would be easier🤔😂. You Could have broken a nail!
Lol for some reason getting that micro USB into the back of that thing was hard to line up. But yea, I don't know why more companies don't just switch to USB C.
Massive latency somethings never change with Stinks cameras.
I bought this camera thinking it will follow whoever or whatever enters the room. It wont follow anything
Hey Adrian, (nice name btw), yea, it doesn't track or follow, unfortunately. I did review this camera system that does track pretty well, even at night, unless you are moving really fast: ruclips.net/video/bHdhE8lahRg/видео.html
Makes clicking noise
Hmm, maybe the motor is messed up or needs to be recalibrated?
Blink be like: why give an user easy way to remove the camera!! Seriously!!!!!?!??
Yea, Blink is not very user friendly.
