Honestly, I would cut out more of the wood so that way the light switches can be more recessed. It will give it a cleaner look with the wood and how it flows.
Nothing better then walnut, really like the slits in the walnut is read of putting the air return back on. It would be really cool to get a wooden light switch cover and match it as close as possible to the walnut and some brown switches
This unique wall idea gives me something to consider as I was leaning toward a faux brick wall. I love natural wood. Your wooden wall completely transforms the place. Thank you.
Beautiful work! Love it and thank you for the inspiration. The one thing I would consider is the light switch and look for metal/gold type switches and plates to integrate into the wood.
Great minds think alike Oscar haha. Literally was just looking at light with options that were blacked metal and gold haha! Thanks so much for watching.
Looks awesome! Is there just a hole behind light switch 13:00 ? Looks like a big dust collector😉💨 Why don't you put a wood under (behind) top of light switch ?
I really love your new wall !!! And I admit, I was waiting for the mirror at the end. But that white switches... Is it possible to turn it black or steel or something ?
Looks awesome! I think you just inspired my next project. You should do one of those ‘ask me anything’ videos one of these days, or a video where you show everyone how all the past projects are holding up!
3:19 there is a pole mount paintbrush made by many different brands that you screw on at the end of the pole. They are flexible too and can hold the bend. Really positive hold on the brush as opposed to just taping it ona stick. But that works too obviously. Just wanted to let people know that kind of brush exists.
Haha love it Martha. If I’m doing a painting video you know I’m going to be including as many painting tips as possible :) thanks so much for your continued support.
One thing I believe would make a huge improvement is the switches. I'd replace the switches with light up or a quick spray paint with matte black or charcoal. Then either buy a walnut switch cover or cover it with some wood veneer. All things I say you should do but would never complete at my house 😆
Looks awesome Brent! You paint kinda how I paint- the correct way! I agree with Leah and the others. Covering your beautiful work wouldn’t be ideal. You keep coming up with these great ideas. Keep it up and good luck to you and your family!
The light switch box probably should have got a box extender. I'm not trying to scare you but I want to warn you of the fire hazard with electrical exposed close to wood. (Essentially you made wood part of the electrical box)
Thanks so much for mentioning that Jared. Do they make them for a quad setup like this? I'm going to change up the outlet switches to something more modern so I can do it at that point. Thanks again for mentioning that and hope you enjoyed the video.
really nice u did a great job on this one question how do I get a hold of BMoore to get free paint they do have the best of all the paints one coat wounder. wood I have a old barn just need to have it cut down to siz so half way there luck to me!
I think a mirror would be nice. Maybe a starburst mirror with gold tone, or plain round mirror with a simple frame. It will bring more light into the space!
lovely , but instead of placing the woods all across, I would have cut it round to fit the mirror into the circle of the woods, I hope you ketch my drift, but your design is also beutiful! , thanks for sharing, " Tutilou"❤
Great project! Love how you did the air vent. I'm going to do this but plan on putting 1/4 inch aluminum strips between the wood slats. Absolutely no mirror. Don't clutter up a masterpiece. I would put 3" warm colored led recessed lights in ceiling above wall! It would look great at night.
Very beautiful project and love the result! Did you end up putting up a mirror? It looks great as it is but the mirror may make it look even more beautiful. Thanks for the video!
My first advise find some light control who match more your wood or do some recessed access for your light switch cause your wall is too beautiful and this white control switch it a huge wrong so get rid of it ;) great wood work and geat paint job too ;) continue your good work ;)
Love walnut! Looks amazing. And thanks for the tip with the painters tape on the roller - I'm going to use that! I hate rolling on paint perfectly, only to find a little lint ball stuck in there!!
could you add a link for buying the walnut wood itself? I know you went to the store to get some, but would be great to see something online before I order them.
Instead of using sawdust and glue for your filler, try using sawdust and your gel finish. It will stick to itself when it dries and will not change color like glue does when it dries.
Great looking wall. I'm thinking about doing this to one of my walls. Couple questions. Do you only nail into where the stud is or do you nail into just the sheet rock? 2nd is what if all your pallet wood is the same length? My pallet wood is 80 inches long. Should I cut it into random lengths? And I guess you use nails and glue? Thank you.
Change the switches and plate to black. Love the rounded ends. Scales the look 10X.
brilliant idea cutting slits on the wood for air vent! well done mate! thanks for sharing!
Extremely beautiful. No less, no more.
Love it.
Looking great. It was great hearing the song at 13:15 - Pata Pata: by Miriam Makeba. It just sealed the whole thing for me. Proudly SA.
Honestly, I would cut out more of the wood so that way the light switches can be more recessed. It will give it a cleaner look with the wood and how it flows.
The routered radius on the end grain makes the project. Nice termination 👊
Nothing better then walnut, really like the slits in the walnut is read of putting the air return back on. It would be really cool to get a wooden light switch cover and match it as close as possible to the walnut and some brown switches
Ooooooo I like that Idea Johnny. I will have to start doing some research on light switches :) Thanks for the continued support bud.
You’re killing it man, great vision on all your projects
Amzing job just change the color of the electric panel from white to gold well done
Nicely done! Thank you for sharing. Yes, Benjamin Moore is the way to go for any professional quality look.
My first time watching you and certainly wont be the last, what a talented guy you are beautiful project.
Love hearing that Marion and welcome to the BYOT Fam! Thanks so much for the support
that air register fix was awesome

Love the roundover from a purely aesthetic perspective! Looks high end. Awesome job as usual!
You had me at Walnut!!!! I love it Brent!
Haha right?! Love it Mitch and thanks so much for all your support.
Great idea for the air return! Now I have ideas for my home!
Great to hear and thanks so much for watching. Hope you subscribe
Brent that wall is KILLER! Don't cover the wall....the wall is art.
Love it Leah! Thanks for the advice and that’s what Hillary and I where thinking also :)
I love this channel, remember guys, for a pro finish, minimum of 2 coats of final finish...
NO MIRROR! Leave the wall as it is GREAT JOB 👏
Thanks for the input Nessy and rest assured that I decided to keep the wall as is. No mirror needed :)
That wall looks awesome next to that nice new railing! It really gives your house a nice modern look!
Exactly my thoughts Patrick. Love the look of the entryway once you walk into the house. Thanks so much for watching and your support.
Looks great and well explained. Can't wait to see the little one climbing on it in a future video! :)
Your voice and your work .....amazing.greez from germany
cant wait to own my own home to do stuff like this! looks awesome !
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words. Hopefully all of these BYOT videos come in handy in the future :)
Yes, beautiful details
Like the sound track in the end !
Man this is a stunning piece of art
Looks great. I think an oblong table would be perfect with the mirror above it with like an orchid or some beautiful flower on one side.
Thats a good idea Anon. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching. Truly appreciate the support.
Looks awesome!
Is there just a hole behind light switch 13:00 ? Looks like a big dust collector😉💨
Why don't you put a wood under (behind) top of light switch ?
Master piece.., just follow your heart.
I really love your new wall !!! And I admit, I was waiting for the mirror at the end. But that white switches... Is it possible to turn it black or steel or something ?
Yes! Brushed nickel maybe
Looks awesome! I think you just inspired my next project. You should do one of those ‘ask me anything’ videos one of these days, or a video where you show everyone how all the past projects are holding up!
Love those video ideas Tom! That would be very fun to talk about. Are there any specific projects you are interested in seeing how it has held up?
@@BYOTools definitely interested in how the turf lawn is doing especially after winter!

Love the way it is. No adding up required I feel. 👍
I always use silicone to make smooth transition between ceiling and wall paint works all the time 😊
As usual another really great project Brent. Checking in here from the Philippines
They have a paint brush holding device for attaching a brush to an extension pole I have a couple of them and to my surprise they work quit well
You did a great job with that wall you got down on it you gave me ideas
A master class in wall painting!
Haha love it Martha. If I’m doing a painting video you know I’m going to be including as many painting tips as possible :) thanks so much for your continued support.
I really become a fan of your channel I will waching all your videos are interested
I realy like the way u explain @ idea that show it ,I always follow your vedio
Great job! Can't wait to start my makeover project next week🤗
Do a curly maple floating shelf or two walnut and maple always looks great together you won't be disappointed 👍

I have only ever seen them in single gang boxes personally but I cant see why there wouldnt be anything. I'm looking into it now
@@BYOTools They do make them and Arlington seems to be a common brand name for them.
Great job, I will also try this at home
Great to hear TC and thanks so much for watching.
A beauty!

In love with what you do 😍
Great to hear Takwa. Thanks so much for watching and hope you subscribed.
Very cool, but you need a box extender for that switch box, right now you have exposed wires for the side in between the slats.
I think a mirror would be nice. Maybe a starburst mirror with gold tone, or plain round mirror with a simple frame. It will bring more light into the space!
Great suggestions Terrell. Thanks so much for watching and your amazing support.
Wow, that looks awesome! Think I need to remake the one I did in this style instead 😄 Love it!
Beautiful I'll do dis in my House tenx for sharing dis video
Beautiful wow
beautiful work
You are the best.
Looks good, but you can see the areas where you sanded the hole filler down. Would another coat of finish take care of that?
Great job!
Absolutely wonderful
Beautiful

Wow nice clever ideas I like it thanks for sharing new friend here

The air vent like that probably doesnt work too well. Im sure you probably know already if you ever did this.
@@AndrewLeeW1 I've never done this. If what you say is correct that would be a shame. It's a nice clean look.
Very beautiful project and love the result!
Did you end up putting up a mirror? It looks great as it is but the mirror may make it look even more beautiful. Thanks for the video!
No mirror. Its too beautiful as is :) I am going to change out the outlet cover though. Thanks for watching Jerome.
Nice! Thanks 🙏🏽😀
So nice I love this
3:43 1X4 is the nominal size and 3/4 X 3 1/2 the actual
beautiful wall, the white light switch needs to be replaced though to blend in
Please, upgrade your light switch to something nice and modern (mb black?). Nice wall!
Great job 👍❤️
Smooth cut in lines. I’m terrible at straight lines free hand
Its definitely a skill I've had to develop haha! Thanks so much for watching.
Awesome! But that white light switch kills it
u´re awesome dude!
Nice n awesome 👌 so inspiring
Love this!!
Great to hear and thanks so much for watching Jack.
what species of wood would a nut use on a wall? ah, walnut! freekin beautiful work, love it
Stunning❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕jane
Thanks soooooo much! Truly appreciate your support Jane.
Awesome work! I am doing something similar at my office and I was curious what kind of router bit do you use to achieve that edge?
My first advise find some light control who match more your wood or do some recessed access for your light switch cause your wall is too beautiful and this white control switch it a huge wrong so get rid of it ;) great wood work and geat paint job too ;) continue your good work ;)
nice job bro👍
Thanks so much bud. Appreciate the support.
please do something to light switch, the wood looks great
Hi what is the blue color paint on the wall next to the wall you're painting?
Love walnut! Looks amazing. And thanks for the tip with the painters tape on the roller - I'm going to use that! I hate rolling on paint perfectly, only to find a little lint ball stuck in there!!
Love from Punjab, India
Love that I have fan all over the world. Amazing!
Because i also love wood working, and I m also a carpenter
the wall is great without a mirror
How about a box extension on the electrical boxes???
what you will be doing with dust?) why not a vertically located your planken?
Very nice… my project I moved the light switch. Felt the face plate was distracting.
Looks good man! How’s the epoxy holding up in the garage? Going to be doing it in my own soon.
Great to hear bud and the garage floor is holding up great! No peeling at all even the outside section. Thanks for watching.
looks nice but whis is going to clean all that dust buildup on every single piece?
Well Done
Yep do the round mirror
Given prices now, I’d say that’s almost $1k in walnut alone plus paint costs. Looks great but man wood prices lately are nuts!
Yep, I figured out the wood would be around $700 from Menards
could you add a link for buying the walnut wood itself? I know you went to the store to get some, but would be great to see something online before I order them.
