I just finished reading it, and it's going to be my topic for my presentation for my english communication exam next week! As a Syrian girl from Homs (the same city the story takes place in) who also left the country, this book made me get so emotional! It's so well written and I think that it's a great way to educate people on what's happening in other countries like Syria right now!
Wow I’m sure it is very emotional reading a book that hits so close to home. It was so well written and it taught me so much about something that can feel so far away at times. Thanks so much for commenting and best of luck on your presentation and exam. 💕A+
I read it a few months ago. As a syrian, I was interested in this book the moment I saw it. I cannot explain with words how much it destroyed me in the most beautiful way possible. I'm trying so hard not to give away any spoilers, but I am telling you, I cried for an entire day after the plot-twist😭😅
Oh my friend I can’t imagine how much it hurts to read about the suffering of your people. I love this book and how much it taught me. It is almost time for me to reread it. 💕
back here again. i finally got a chance to read this book after coming across your recommendation. what a heart breaking read but also full of hope. it still blows my mind this is a YA genre book!
this sounds like a great read! i've read a few books from authors of the syrian diaspora but haven't heard of this book yet so def going to read this. they have such like you said impactful stories.
Hi,does this have any sa trigger warning? Im going to give it to my friend as a present for her graduation. But a lil bit afraid if there is any "heavy" trigger warning that will make us feel unconfortable. Thanks
I would say violence in a war/bombing setting is a definite trigger warning in this one. Also suffering from the loss of family members/children. I do not recall any sexual assault and I’m usually pretty sensitive to that sort of thing! Overall it was an excellent read and the tough topics were handled well!
@@BandanaBookmomhello, I have to pitcht he book tomorrow and I couldn’t finish it in time 😭. Can you like give me a good summary of what happens begin to end? I’ll send an email now
Great question - I do think this one is targeted more for females. I think that a lot of it would be enjoyed/appreciated by males as well - the war details were terrifying - but there is a bit of romance that was honestly a bit cheesy for me as a grown woman so not sure a male would enjoy that aspect of it.

I know what you mean!!! That was so shocking and devastating!
This book broke me! I caught myself holding my breath as I fly through the pages! It's an educational and awareness book.
Yes! I learned so much from this book 💕
Now you have a new follower. I like the review, short yet explanatory enough
Thanks so much for watching 💕
MY ALMOST FAVOURITE BOOK. I HAVE SO CRIED WHILE READING IT.😭 I’m Syrian too and it hurts so much with the details.

Pretty cover on that book!
Yes I must admit that’s the reason I purchased it… but it is so much more than a pretty cover!!!
This sounds amazing it is definitely on the list 🍋💜📚
Yes it’s a must read for sure!
This one looks really good. And I love that cover ❤
Yes beautiful cover, beautiful (but tough!) story!
@@BandanaBookmom yes I’m sure it’s a tough read but it’s a subject I don’t know much about so now I’m interested to learn more.

Yes would love to hear your other recommendations on this topic - so sad. I think you will enjoy this one.
I added it to my list!
I hope you love it - it made me think so much!
Woah… this sounds pretty intense for a YA novel. Sounds good , though. Great review.
It definitely is more appropriate for the older YA crew!
Please tell me you read it!

Would I enjoy this as a male ? All reviews I’ve seen are only females just seems like that’s the target audience?

The most depressing book 😭
Yes so sad but I learned so much from it 💔
