Good little gps starter drone. I've had mine a little over a year. It's been a good little machine and a great learning tool. Camera is adequate to learn some video recording. Not having a gimbal with image stabilization does make some pretty rough videos. It will teach you how to fly slow and steady though.
The horrible video quality! It's no wonder I had such a hard time finding a proper demo of the thing. It looks like a fun toy, but obviously useless for making quality videos. I'm glad I found your channel!
@@TommyDrone To be honest, I think it is a bit 'quesitonable' for personal stuff - was it windy when the drone was up? Isn't as stable in the air as I would like to see. Trying to decide on this or the DJ Mini 2
Thank you for the review, I do think the choppy video and follow me mode breaking up is a deal breaker, any thoughts on another model on a similar budget with more fluid video quality?

I just flew mine for the first time, got it all set up, gps mode and as soon as i hit the lift botton thing took off like a raped moneky up and up and up, and if i gave it comand to come down it seemed like it would fight to come down, to a point that i did not know if i was gonna be able to recover it, i hit return home and nothing, i just keept the left joy stick down all the time till i got it back and when it got to the ground it would not shut off, i had to turn it off by the drone botton on top. WTF SCARED ASFK 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Mine went rogue today after flying great for 10 minutes in a park with hardly any wind . I was really happy on the third flight after setting h and d wouldn’t hold off beginner mode . So after flyjng great great for 10 minutes up and down , far and high enough I was pleased and it was hovering and all of a sudden full speed straight up and full tilt reverse . Pushing fwd was the only way to stop it , ot would hover another second or two and full tilt reverse . I tried shitting down and restarting 3 more times and same thing after a short minute while hovering . One time it went straight up and reverse and I was bringing titdown and controlling it and lost control entirely and finally got it down and packed up for Amazon . Guys really need to tell the full truth about the models that just go rogue out of nowhere u less it’s all of them . Like I said I was in a park around nothing . I wouldn t fly these around people after what I experienced today . It was a 3 day old hs175d and it worked perfect the first cpl batteries .
I've had this drone a little over a week now, every time I would go for distance, and or height the HS175D wouldn't respond to the commands I will try not using beginner mode and putting the cell phone to airplane mode. I wanted to be able to get closer to things, see further and use for my home made music videos, but the drone gets caught in trees and the blades gets damaged, for now I will blame it on user error, as long as I stay around 11-12ft and fly no more than 20 yards I can maintain a bit of control, but as soon as I push the envelope it wont take long before I find myself hoping that I can get it from the tree tops again, my luck will run out if I don't figure out what I can do so that my HS175D fly like the ones that I see on RUclips, suggestions are welcome, please and thank you!!!!
I don't know anything about drones, do you have to pay any kind of monthly recurring cost to use this thing? does it use your cell data or any extra costs like that?
Hmm I'm not sure. Make sure it's on GPS mode and that your phone's GPS is on and your Wifi is connected. I'll take it up again and fly and see if I can confirm and let you know. Give me a couple days because I already burned up one of the motors and I need to replace it.
Great video bro!! i need a budget friendly drone with a 200-250$ budget in my pocket, mostly for real state videos that will be uploaded on tik tok or instagram so i assume i dont need even 4k since social media drops the quality down, and of course, that can fly about 30 min maybe? any advice?? thanks a lot brotha, you got a new subscriber here :)
HS175 takes good pictures and video. However, it is really just a high end toy. I suggest for a little more the HS720 It's far better. ruclips.net/video/pPMfJT2W6xM/видео.html
I have the exact same drone but it drifts like crazy, it also does things against what im trying to do and its not me messing up, i literally was just moving forward not touching the ascend button and it all of a sudden goes super high into the air and comes back straight at me almost hitting me.
Just too much back and forward for me .. I would prefer to see the operating instructions first in detail and then move on to the flight etc but thanks anyway
It is possible the card is the problem or my computer. Looking back I uploaded the clips and that is how it came out. Compared to other drones who had fine video this is strangely choppy. I will test it again and make another video to make sure. I still have the drone and it flies great. Notr, for a little more I really like their upgraded drone better.
I just bought one and seeing your review I’m not confidentnt of following your instructions you are explaining as if you are doing it for the first time.
Pretty stable as it chops up table and goes into the papers. 🥴Spend a couple more hundred dollars and buy DJI. No one comes close to their quality, flight range, GUI and battery life.
I have owned the HS 175 for more than a year I will say a few things about this drone it's been fun to fly it's a squirrel it's best to not try and fly it in doors it's just a bit of tilt that will have it hit a wall or something else ... But having said flying it is a blast it's fast...it's precise to the controls...and sometimes the wind can carry it a bit but I have had some entertaining times replaced a few propellers.. Now I do own a dgi mini 2 if you want precise buy the dgi mini 2 it's a bunch more stable ....the hs175d will do many things you want from a drone if you have it set right ..but the mini 2 will do more and with a bit more stabilty
For the most part I agree. However, I did buy an HS175D a couple years ago because I was on a very tight budget and I just wanted something with GPS that I could put up in the sky and get some aerial footage every now and then. For the price it is not bad. Outdoors I have found it to be very stable, both the GPS (outdoors) and the optical sensor (indoors or outdoors if the GPS signal is weak) work well in keeping it where I put it. It would be nice if it had better camera stabilization but, we are talking about a relatively inexpensive drone here. For the price it outperforms my expectations, has excellent batter flight times, and it is one of the few cheaper drones that pretty much lives up to the manufacturers claims. I haven't got to fly it as much as I'd like to. But I am mainly a traditional RC person. I spend most of my time flying more traditional RC airplanes and helicopters. The drone is more of a utility device as opposed to a hobby device for me its just an aerial camera platform. Otherwise I agree with you. If you are not on a tight budget as I was you are probably better off spending the extra money and purchase a DJI drone. In fact I am thinking of purchasing a DJI drone in the not too distant future. However the HS175D was a good starter drone which I will probably continue to send up every now and then even after I get a genuine DJI.
@@WitchidWitchid you won’t regret the DJI, they’re technologically is light years above and beyond anything else on the market and their customer service is on the same level.

Glad I watched this review camera quality looks great but very glitchy
Its a good starting drone. I think some people here don't realize this. If you want professional quality you will be spending $400 OR more on a drone

It connects to your phone via WiiFi and SD card to record.
Yes you have to pay me $100 every month for flying the drone.
How do enable the follow me feature I’ve followed the instruction video to the T with no luck whatsoever.
Great vid! 👍🏽
Why not start from open box, to start up, to paring, to flight???
That would be to easy. Plus my video genius would be limited.
sorry might be a dumb question, is this unit compatible with the I Phone?
probably click the link in the descripiton area for better direct answers.

Change the settings from beginner mode & raise the limits on everything

no gyroscope stabilizers?
Good Video, Thx Tommy. Do you still use and like this drone? 🤔
Yes it still works fine for me. Only bummer is I have to change the blades often because one crash ruins them.
It’s on sale today for 114$ should I get it? I’m a beginner I’ll return it if it’s crap
The spring tension for my phone does not work. Where can I get another controller.
Mine, too.
Would the video quality be better if it followed closer to you?

There's a trim adjuster, read it in the book, I did😊
