      Dean Cooling aye they look nice Dean but couldn't justify the price without flogging a Rab, and I'm liking the Rabs so far, keen to see how you get on with the MSR, all the best Andy

    Struth mate another tent. Looks good and like the extra guy lines that should cope well in high winds. Have to say I have got another tent coming that may be a replacement for my WickiUp but will wait and see once I have tried it a bit. Atb Ray.

    Hi Andrew, thanks a lot for your presentation of the tent. I am considering to buy this tent, but probably do not have a chance to have a look at it first. What i really like about this tent is that inner and outer tent can be set up together.
    What do you think until which body length would it be still comfortable to lie in it?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors

      Keek hi I hope it helped you decide, happy camping Andrew

    • @99Keek

      yes, although i am still a bit concerned about the length. Do you think it is long enough for somebody who is ~188cm tall?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors

      Hi yes i think you'll be fine, although it feels quite narrow it felt nice and long so no problems I would think. Cheers Andy

    Hey Andrew, Do you still have the tent and hows been your experiences with it? I thought it was rated as a 4 season tent by Salewa? cheers

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  4 года назад +1

      Hi Brad, I sold it a year ago roughly but not because it wasn't good. I think it could easily cope with 4 season use too if you're thinking on buying one. It has the semi geodesic strength to cope with rougher conditions and some snow loading. Atb A

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  7 лет назад

      +savedpurplecat Hi Tim, it's s strong tent for the price. Only thing I'd recommend is you seam seal the pole connector points ( they supply silnet) as it leaks in a test of continuous rain for 18 hours. I've since sealed mine. Atb Andy

    hello I'm interested in buying this tent for my trip to Iceland do you think its a good idea? and also what do you mean with "need to silnet seal the pole attachments points". English is not my main language so i don't understand what that means.

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  6 лет назад

      Hi Marco, yes it should work well in Iceland which is very windy. Where the plastic clip straps are sewn to the flysheet water can leak through the stitching and tape. So if you use silicone sealer on the outside it will stop any water leaks ( again important for Iceland ) ..have a great trip ! A

    Hi Andrew, I’m looking at the 2 person version of this or the wild country blizzard 2 currently torn, both around same price point? Any thoughts on what would be best for 4 season camping?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Mm, if you can get the pro version of the salewa and weight is an issue I'd go Salewa however if you dont mind lugging 2.3kg the wild country looks a better all rounder with the ability to cook more easily inside I think 🤔

    • @johnsonpt2

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors thanks for the reply, 2.3kg isn’t too bad for a 2 person winter tent so happy carrying that. Not much info on it online or RUclips, really appreciate your input. Cheers 👍

  • @davids9549

    Somehow I can't see you staying with this tent for long Andy. As a one-person semi-geodesic 3-4 season it has the competition whopped on price, but little else. When you factor its weight into the equation...

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  7 лет назад

      Hi David, Its an interesting point. At 2kg or just under, for me, it compares favourably with the Soulo for strength and at a fraction of the cost. You may be right though as i fancy the 2 man pro version but it appears to have been delayed for sale ?

      Hi although I think the inner length would be ok you'd really struggle with the small inner door, if you can look for the 2 person silnylon version which should be lighter and more comfortable for you ? Atb Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
    I'm thinking about purchasing this tent, would you recommend it to someone who hikes several days in a row? Does it have a good weather resistance? Does it have some technical defaults?
    I would really appreciate it if you could answer those questions for me.
    Take Care

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  7 лет назад

      Hi Joaquim, yes I think it would do you well for multi day use, its very wind stable but you'll need to silnet seal the pole attachments points or it will leak in hours of rain. If you can find one I would opt for the 2 man PRO version which should be the same if not less in weight but will be much wider for comfort on multi day trips..hope it helps and keen to hear how you get on. Andy

      Hi,
      When you bought the tent, are some seams sealed or you need to apply silnet on all of them ?
      Do you try the tent under heavy rain ?
      Thanks for the review by the way !

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  7 лет назад

      Ludo Balo hi Ludo the seams are taped but I tested it in 2 days of heavy rain and found some small leakage points so silnet sealed all the attachment points as a safeguard .

      I'm thinking about purchasing the pro model. there's good sales online and alpine wild camping season is coming !

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Joaquim, If you can afford it I'dgo for the 2 man pro version which will be lighter but more roomy. I's silnet the pole clip areas on the flysheet to ensure waterproofness too. It's very stable so should be good in bad weather, only niggle i have is the lack of pockets in inner, a wee clip in mesh gear loft would be a good addition. Good luck with your trip. Andrew

    Why doesnt the inner body have more mesh? This whole thing is a condensation trap

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  6 лет назад

      Hi, it's designed for rougher weather at altitude so the fact it's mostly solid inner is a benefit as far as I'm concerned , warmer in the cold and wind. A

      I've taken this tent all the way up to 4100m altitude. It's definitely designed for cold winds, rain, stomr and snow. I would say the weak point of this tent is the fact that it's volum is a bit cramped as a two eprson tent. you really have to like the person you're travelling with.
      The point of this tent is to be a light option for those going to high altitudes without breaking the bank.
      Breathability is surprisingly good and considered that the inner is fully polyester and the actual waterproof layer is the outer, I didn't have much trouble with condensation even in lower and warmer altitudes.

    • @TheLordsaviour
      @TheLordsaviour 5 лет назад

      @@guywithabeard that's Strange as u have the 2 man tens and the inner of the fly is always dripping in the morning regardless of tho outside conditions, I've left it out with no one in if and it was still dripping. Pain in the arse really

    • @guywithabeard
      @guywithabeard 5 лет назад

      @@TheLordsaviour are you specifically talking about the litetrek?
      If so, I would stress again that it's a mountaineering tent. I mean sure, if you try to camp with it at sea level in summer, there's a good chance you will die. :D
      So when I say it's relatively good with condensation, I mean relatively speaking.
      One example: When I did a tour to a 5000m peak, we set up our BC at around 4000m. During the first night, storms picked up and it started raining. Temps were around 5° at night. The storms picked up the medical tent and a few other onesand carried them downhill. further poles of the medical tent started flying around in the storm. I found out about this the day after, as our tent remained firmly planted with minimal movement. No water got in either.
      Next day during the descent, we set the tent up at around 1000m. Temps were around 15° during the night and all was good. :)
      Personal recommendation for temps above this is: set up the tent fly-only with a groundsheet. So bascially like a tarp/groudsheet combo :)
