These days, so many pianists can render the notes, but can they create the feelings behind the music.? This is gentle, beautiful and passionate pianism and I will try to hear him more - a great future awaits.
This is by far my favourite interpretation of this piece I've ever heard! Everything feels so perfectly dramatic and emotional, and with the addition of that tempo/rubato - it's amazing
Bravo! Wonderful playing, adding to the list of other postings of "Widmung" on RUclips. Great clarity, and control, yet highly emotive in the crescendos. One of my favorite interpretations already!
It is so beautiful to listen to Martin James Bartlett. Few pianists have such musical sensitivity. I am absolutely sure that we will hear a lot more from Mr. Bertlett.
Lionel VIGNERESSE.
Very beautiful playing and immensely talented. It’s a pity, though, that he didn’t take András Schiff’s hint about trying to sit upright and still: “The music is supposed to move; not you.” Poor posture affects one in later life. If the vertebrae in our necks lose cartilage, this leads to almost unendurable pain in back, shoulders, hands, and makes a mockery of all the hard work over many years.
Oudtshoornify here’s a suggestion! Take that stick out your ass or don’t watch. Why do veiwers feel they have the right to be master performers’ teachers. He likely performs better than you do, so let him reach the emotion which you seem to praise him for in which ever way he wants.
@@barackobama953 Your point is very well taken! It reminds me of a favorite quote by Channing Pollock: "A critic, rather than going forth into battle, emerges later.....shooting the wounded."
I agree completely. He is such a talented and sensitive musician. I feel like I want to lock him in a room with an Alexander Technique teacher for a very long time!
Best interpretation I ever heard! Also great job from the Piano tecnician and the sound editor. Just great.
Impressive control. The pianissimos are incredible.
Oh my word I think I just died and went to heaven, his playing is so beautiful.

Very tender. A breath of fresh air after so many interpretations that sounded almost all identical.
He's a such wonderful pianist!

Très romantique superbe interprétation et le grupetto ..................

Schumman and Liszt must be shouting 'Bravo' with his rendition of this piece..

Wunderbar
He is a Godsend, I mean, seriously...
Wonderful
My favorite interpretation. I love both martin james barttlet and yunchan lim, whose rapertories are a bit similar.
Forever beautiful. Thank you Martin
lovely sound!!!!!!
It’s my dream to marry someone like him!
Then you're in love with the piano not the person
His performance shows me that to love someone from the bottom of our hearts is the happiest thing & it can be a purpose of our lives. 🥹✨
Delicioso sublime muito LINDO 🌜🌻❤🌛🍀SAUDADES 🇵🇹
Very nice interpretation - most pianists play this too slowly IMO. A bit too closely miked for my taste.
Underrated pianist. Apparently he's not considered cute enough to be marketable. Pity.

@@barackobama953 ah, that was a gentle response! I agree with the sentiment, but not the expression.
