    There is a legit reason why we all don't drive with two feet. You have to take your foot off the accelorator to brake and take your foot off the brake to accelerate. Doing it that way makes sure you don't try to hit both at the same time like Walt Jr. did.

    • @Californ1a
      @Californ1a 8 месяцев назад +1

      That is a good reason, but I also feel like the way that originally became the reason for it was just to compensate for poor design though, or at least compensate for old mechanical limits that newer cars with computers in them should be able to properly address. They should be designed such that if you hit both, then it brakes; the accelerator should never override the brake.

    • @maxducoudray

The best trick is to push the different strands together by putting your hand between the barbs and pushing down with your open palm so you don't get poked by the barbs below on the other strands then throw your leg over and basically rest your crotch on top of your hands and throw your other leg over while simultaneously jumping off the fence and letting go with your hands. The easiest way is just to throw a towel or a rug over it but thats assuming you have one you're willing to ruin

But I'm glad that people who critiqued her prior to that point can also feel that.

      I think they have a good view on both if them. Skylar and marie are both kinda karens (not full blown, but a bit), but i like how they see it all in the context of this dysfunctional relationship she has with walt (even before the diagnosis). And that two people (can) make a dysfunctional or unhappy marriage, not just one.
      I mean at least walt was clearly unhappy and depressed with his life, but skylar either did not care or not notice (i think the latter). That is also a bit telling about her.
      However, skylar is not the worst ever or sonething. And anna gunn did a fantastic job. Also, walt is the one going from doormat to kingpin in a second. Of course that creates ripples with skylar (and rightfully so)

    They should have just had Skyler's stress response be to beat Walter Jr. Because I've never seen people so ready to excuse child abuse vis a vis smoking in the third trimester. Then you could happily say that it doesn't matter that she did something horrible because she's not even strong enough to leave a bruise. Or a bruise that lasts for more than 2 days. It's not doing any harm if it happens just once. That's silly.

    Question: if you feel like your wife or husband hiding something from you. What would you feel? What would you do? Would you go back your own bad habits for example? Isn’t that a sign of weakness of will? Or something evil reveals from the deep of your heart?

    • @maxducoudray
      @maxducoudray 9 месяцев назад +2

      I think peoples initial response would be feelings of betrayal and then likely anger. I think if this had been the first time Skylar thought he was hiding something she would have let it go like in prior episodes. Except Walt has a tendency to yell and be an aggressor so they end up meeting each other pretty low. So I can see how her betrayal confusion and anger led her to lapse into a bad habit probably out of spite somewhat. Personally I have a tinge of perfectionism and the need to prove to be better that I’m aware of at this current time in my life so generally not how I would handle those feelings if it were me! But the way they’re acting is very human for two people who are possibly not going to be compatible in the future if it continues. I think people are complex they just need a way to work together ❤️

    People always defends Skyler's behavior in this period of the show by asserting that her long-time relationship with Walt has given her enough insight to be suspicious of him, even without any real evidence of wrongdoing. Fair enough, but I then come back to the earlier episodes. Where was that keen insight that told her Walt was sad, miserable and repressed, that he felt unappreciated and that he was wasting his life and his potential? Her idea of making his 50th birthday special was to demand he confront his boss so he can leave work early (at his second job of the day), in order to be home for a surprise party he was not enjoying, at which an outside observer might actually think Hank was the guest of honor, since he had as many coworkers present as Walt did, and then finish it off with the least sexy sexual favor ever, which includes mocking his lack of arousal while giving him less than half her attention, refusing his attempt to induce a greater degree of intimacy, and pausing to glare at him when he expresses an interest in doing something other than the chores she has planned.
    Either Skyler's wifely intuition is bullshit, or more likely, the source of her distress was not concern or worry over Walt's well-being, fidelity or good behavior, rather she is upset because Walt is slipping the leash she has had him on for nearly two decades.

    The reason people hate Skylar so much is because she has always acted so high and mighty, but this episode specifically shows her worst traits. The smoking showed:
    1. She is the reason why the last baby miscarried, she blamed morning sickness pills but she smoked while pregnant and REFUSED to accept that she could be to blame
    2. She is the reason for Walt's lung cancer, and when he got sick she refused again to even think she could have been the issue: instead she blamed the chemicals Walt worked with years ago.
