- Cnidarians were the first animals to have muscles and nerves to produce behavior. They were also the first to have a mouth and stomach to digest food. We learn about nematocysts when we watch an anemone catching a goby and two anemones fighting. Cnidarians come in various body shapes and have different ways of living. Corals are cnidarians that build reefs...

When the stomphia de attached from the rock and floated away, my entire zoology class laughed
Its no true?
Me too😂 she is cute. .....
Mee tooo... 😂🤣
😂😂😂😂
me and my friend were wheezinggg
13:08 "This jellyfish has never been seen before" *shows a picture*
Me: ... never been seen before huh?
ikr
*give this guy a trophy he's trying*
I think it's an animation...
"before" means previous to, not "never." Hope this helps..
James Jubran someone needs to have seen something to take a picture. so if you're arguing against the point that it's a picture, "hope this helps..."
I am never going in the ocean again
agreed
as Jacques Cousteau said "when you enter the ocean, you enter the food chain."
My mom said the same right now 😂😅
same
10:09 “I was just looking for the sports channel Gary!”
Sponge bob
This really helped with my biology project. I'll make sure to give you credit in my reference slide. Thank you
❤❤❤
So these were the thing spongebob was watching on his Tv, "Gary!'
colobonema be like: "welp, gtg now..." * runs away with limbs falling off *
Its more like detaching its tentacles to distract the prey and hunt them while they are still confused of the position.
I would definitely recommend you to watch animalogic bioluminesence to know more about this trap.
Fantastic video; enjoyed by all my classes. Well done!
The best video I ever saw in RUclips. .... I love it ..... the pictures the voice explanation everything is tremendous fantastically awesome. .....
absolutely true
Except the science is absolutely false crap science. The voice makes fantastical claims such as “they invented” eating plankton makes you a predator 😂😂🤣You must have been raised on Disney!

This was amazing! Who on Earth gave this a thumbs down? :[
Religious creationists
I was tempted to give a thumps-down because my terribly lazy professor is making us watch this video as opposed to actually teaching us her self
no dislikes now lol
Carnivorous plants
Lies, falsehoods & supposition...with an overwhelming dose of bullshit!
"Cnidarians rely on special cells: cells called 'nerves.'" Nerves are not cells. Nerves are made of multiple cells called 'neurons,' often referred to by the layman term 'nerve cells." It is incorrect to refer to nerves as "cells" as the narrator here does.
Jackson Reynolds he named them what they are made of cells. It’s like when I refer to eating protein then you know I mean meat
Jackson Reynolds ...According to a Google search of “are nerves single cells,” I get answer of “a single nerve cell is a neuron.” Please inform me of the truth.
@@brento2890 you're right he is wrong. All neurons are cells but not all cells are neurons
@@brento2890 A "nerve" refers to a group of axons going from one neuron to another. The group is usually many axons in a bundle, but can be a single axon (meaning the appendage of a single neuron).
Jackson Reynolds is partly correct in that "It is incorrect to refer to nerves as 'cells'." A nerve is a part of a cell or the same part from many cells.
The key problem with Jackson's claim is that nerves do NOT require several neurons.
People shouldn't start swinging their dicks around the second they grow their first pube.
@@bradsmith6019 I'm going to be honest, I didn't think my Bio teacher wouldsendmesomewhere I would laugh from the comments but here we are. You just brightenned my day.
Stunningly awesome...it feels as if we are actually exploring them right now......outstanding efforts put up😊
10:08 the anemone was like "Bruh- bye."

Highschool zoology here
Cnidarians are also called coelenterates. They are tissue level of organisation, radial symmetry, diploblastic, acoelomates without notochord. Cnidoblast capture prey, for defence etc. Contain gastro vascular system with a single opening, mouth on hypostome. Have two types of bodies, polyp and medusae. Digestion is extracellular and intracellular. Eg, Portuguese man of War (physalia), adamsia(Sea anemone), pennatula(Sea pen), Sea fan(gorgia), meandrine(coral brain). Skeleton made of calcium carbonate. Posses metamerism.
Ncert 😂
Wow wow and wow.
Really helpful for zoology honours student
If you are playing Ark, you now how suck's Cnidaria
lol check out the stomphia moving from the sea star.
I really suggest watching the video with the subtitles on.. and seeing that "stomp via" anchored to "Iraq" really helped the video..
DOES ANYONE REALIZE THIS IS A SHAPE OF LIFE VIDEO! LOOK IT UP!
stomphia just went "voh chali voh chal dekho pyaar ki gali"
woww didnt expect that from Stomphia xd
10:10 is this for real?? i thought its a meme hahahahaha
Excellent Video !!! Cnidarians !!!
Can someone slide the answers plz
Every thing is created for specific purpose.
What are the benefits of them?
They look beautiful and i think may play role in food chain
The contrast between human civilisation, which has existed for about 10,000 years, and just the 100's of millions of years where these kind of things were the most complex life on Earth, just makes ya wonder about your place in the universe. What is this reality?
Please make more videos
Love from 🇮🇳
I have no word awesome
Amazing vedio it is to easy to study this topic by this vedio thank for this vedio. This really help me a lot
This video is really fantastic!!!

It was Horror....... 😱,,,,,
But I think it's the best video to describe Hydra properly 👌👌
To point out the obvious- cnidarians are credited with being a first creature.... But are adapted to consume mine rials in the form of mobile life forms.
the first moving multicelular creatures (or fist moving animals, and first animals)
What is the function of anemone muscle contractions ? Is it some kind of peristaltic movement ?
It was like a movie. Great work of videography.
amazing stuff
The backgroud music and voice so fits 👌 specially the nematocysts scene ..scary
awesome video
What species is that at 13:31? Looks like the eye of cthulu

Amazing!

aww poor goby
I've watched this video a couple times for the vocab words and I must miss the vocab word troll every time and google is no help because it says a troll is a mystical creature. I just need it for my bio class and I'm thinking that I'm going insane because I can't find it.

My brain: Friends S4-E1 The one with the jelly fish.....
👀
wow nice........... it's very important for school students
well done congratulations
Wow, this is pretty cool. I never really knew how many species of jellyfish there are. I just knew about the ones you often see in aquariums.
If your in Birnbaum's Marine biology class and you know that weird kid that sits in the back, my name is Nathaniel but you can call me nate
I would not like to face off with those cnidarians. Interesting to see them face off with each other though. Poor little sea star didn't get it's dinner either. They are wily that's for sure. Jelly fish and sea anemones are that closely related? My my.
I was studying a unit on the Cnidarians. Was getting bored of the dry and boring text, so decided to see some real stuff to get interested. Was not disappointed. Thanks a ton.
I wish he would use a different term than inventors over and over. Good video just kind of goofy in parts. "This jelly fish has never been seen before, never been classified, etc." well then what the heck? Not very informative, did he see that in a dream or something?
Looks so easy??? Take a book and start studying...you'll get to know that beauty is complex😊
amazing vidio, thanks for sharing
Pics are lovely, but some of the info is misleading.
Cnidarians didn't "invent" movement or even locomotion (even lots of unicellular creatures move),
and the
They were the first animals to do so .
Unicellular aren't considered animals
@@harshkumarmishra2030 Even if you consider they were the first animals to move - not sure that is true as sponges can move too - they definitely didn't "invent" movement or locomotion.
Unicellular creatures moving (animals or not) means locomotion is an earlier, more "primitive" development.
i am bsc 1st year student ..and its very helpful for me ❤️ ..thank you 🌹
