I think the Irishman could have expanded unto a mini series. The tale of Hoffa - his rise, downfall and murder is a fascination that is apart of the American mobster mythos.
He never thought himself a criminal. He looked at the Mafia as a necessary evil for Organized Labor to hold power. Without the threat of violence Labor loses power. The bosses had the cops, Labor had the mob.
The following events which I am recounting actually occurred in the early to mid 70s . The first has to do with Jim Garrison , District Attorney of New Orleans and was referred to in his first book , " On the Trail of The Assassin's " . In his explanation of the many times of people and various agencies thought to be a part of the conspiracy , Judge Garrison explains that in the months preceding the upcoming trial of Clay Shaw ( who had been indicted by a N.O. grand jury for his participation in the conspiracy ) , reporters in an attempt to make Garrison appear ridiculous , interviewed many so called reputable citizens , asking their opinions on Garrison and their views on the validity of the upcoming trial. Hoffa was one of those asked if they thought Garrison was crazy for pursuing the prosecution . Hoffa replied , " That boy Garrison is a lot smarter than people give him credit for " . I do not recall the rest of the quote but he inferred that Garrison knew whereof he spoke . I had no in depth interest in getting involved in researching the assassination until after I'd read that quote and saw Oliver Stone's movie, " JFK " ; it was after that when I began stitching together a few known facts the most important being 3 deaths . All 3 deaths occurred during the investigation by the Church committee and prevented the testimony at least 2 of these 3 people . Sam " Momo " Giancana, Johnny Roselli and James Hoffa were all subpoenaed to testify before the committee ; at least 2 were knowingly murdered while Hoffa disappeared 45 years ago and no trace of him, alive or dead has ever been found . In the case of Giancana, he was under round the clock surveillance until some unknown person called Chicago PD and ordered the surveilling officers removed at once . No one knows who made this all but the next morning Momo was found dead in the basement kitchen of his home . Roselli , who I believe had begun his testimony , disappeared & his remains subsequently were found stuffed into a 55 gallon drum, floating in Biscayne Bay . It is too much of a coincidence that all 3 of these men died within such a short span of each other with only one thing in common - their upcoming appearances in front of an investigative committee . But what stands out to me more than anything is Hoffa's reply to reporters when being questioned about his belief in the validity of Garrison and his own investigation . That, more than anything fueled my belief that all these men knew something profoundly dangerous & I think it had to do with the CIA . After all, if a member(s) of the Company were so stupid as to bug the hotel room of Dan Rowan, a comedian , a fact that became known due to the FBI's later confirmation of this as fact , then the CIA members would be equally stupid in attempting any other criminal activity . Also, the mob would not have had the ability to call off the surveillance on Momo's jhome on the night of his murder ; but the CIA would know who to call and get it done . For all of these reasons I have always thought that JR Hoffa knew things which was quite detrimental , but more so to people in high places . And if the mob did " do the deed " , then I believe it was only because they were forced to do so by governmental agents !

The CIA should be taking down the Mafia[s], not the FBI, another words: drone strikes; JSOC raids; & indefinite detention without trial, etc. Franzee is still in the Mafia. One thing that was confusing in the movie is that Russell Buffalino supposedly had a hand in getting JFK elected. Did Buffalino turn around at some point and say “Let’s whack him out.” I also want to mention that the pilot you mentioned was a man named David Ferrie. David Ferrie is portrayed in The Irishman. Joe Pesci played Ferrie in JFK.

Operation Mongoose Did anyone else chuckle when Pesci said "You're then going to drive up to Baltimore and a ferry named Fehry" In the movie JFK, Pesci plays a gay CIA operative named David Fehry who was involved in Operation Mongoose and a player in the JFK conspiracy
David Ferrie.... contractor for the CIA. Former Eastern Airlines pilot. He was fired for "moral torpitude". He liked to give it up to other guys. He also liked younger men. He kept rats in his apartment. There is a backstory about the CIA and cancer, that they 'gave" people cancer. Ferrie died some some obscure drug interaction that blew out his circulatory system. Caused massive hypertension.
I doubt that the real Russell Bufalino would talk that way. "You'll meet some named David. Do as he asks.". A man's reputation was a precious thing to people of Russell's stripe. It wasn’t about secrets & The Irishman wasn’t remotely true. Hoffman blamed the mafia for his conviction & would’ve won when he was allowed to run again. If he got back in the mafia would be kicked out.
I have listened to guests that appeared on Vlad TV and Michael Franzese's podcast, including Franzese as a guest on Vlad TV, and invariably they claim to know for a fact that Frank Sheran did not kill Hoffa, and he did not kill Joey Gallo; two large events portrayed in the movie, The Irishman. So if he was lying about those episodes, who's to say what else he was lying about? I enjoyed seeing the movie in a movie theater in Manhattan when it was released prior to the Netflix showing; however, it just may be a fictional tale based on real events that occured - not actual fact, as portrayed. He was a good storyteller, perhaps?
The head homicide detective in the Gallo case is quoted in the epilogue of I HEARD YOU PAINT HOUSES as stating that Sheeran did indeed kill Joey Gallo and that the police department purposely spread the rumor about Dibiase killing Gallo so as to weed out legitimate witnesses from false witnesses looking for a deal. Also, photos in the book, as well as official FBI documents establish that Sheeran was really close to both Hoffa and Bufalino, and has always been a main suspect in the Hoffa murder. Sheeran was high up as an associate of the Bufalino family. He wasn’t low level by far. MF pretends to know a lot of things he wasn’t directly involved in, as he was merely a high earning captain in the Colombos, not a hitman or shooter. Read the book for yourself and then form a conclusion. The movie leaves out a lot.
@@MagelioMontagna Actually, I read the book before I saw the movie. I listened to an interview on Coast-to-Coast radio a year before the movie came out and purposely read it before seeing the flick; which in the past I hardly ever did. I totally believed that sheeran was being truthful; it's just that after listening to people actually involved in "the life" saying they know "for a fact" that he didn't do those murders, led me to think he might have been pulling a Pinocchio. Thanks for the information.

Good question. In the movie he tells Frank that the mob would not dare wack him because of all the dirt he had on them, supposedly safe and ready in case of foul play.
I have a legit question. How would Hoffa know about a hit on JFK when in the movie and story, Hoffa labeled the claim of their involvement, a fairytale?" We can't just put videos out just to put videos out. Some things have to have some kinda integrity.
The Hoffa hit happened backstage within their own closed off ecosystem, where they could easily keep the lid shut on any details concerning it. JFK's assassination was on tv, with huge media storms, follow up murders, suicides, disappearances, etc connected to it in both public court records and public consciousness. They're hardly comparable tbqh
still tho , if he knows things about them that the mob don't even knew he knew thats not going to stop them from killing him because they don't know that he knows it !!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
He knew about the loans and that’s enough reason for them to kill him and honestly he really could of had more dirt but did any dirt come out when he disappeared?
J Edgar Hoover being light in the loafers and blackmailed by the mob due to it? Lucky Luciano, the US government & their intelligence agencies all being in bed together since WWII, and taking over the world's heroin market together?
Everybody knows Sheeran made up a story on his deathbed to make some money to leave to his family so a discussion based on that fiction is a waste of time

Actually, I read the book before I saw the movie.
Every movie that is made from true stories are fabricated for us the viewers so sit back and enjoy the lie...l mean ride😂😂
If you think Franzese doesn't lie through his teeth every time he opens his mouth, you're a stronzo.

Sounds like you have a hard on for him. He may fabricate somewhat, but even a broken clock is correct twice a day. I have no reason not to give him the benefit of the doubt, on something he experienced in real life.
That fact alone, that's the Irishman won't disclose what Hoffa told him, that supposedly will rocked the nation it's a testament of how unjenenuin Sheeran was.
Did any sort of documentation or written letters surfaced in regards to what Hoffa knew after his "disappearance"?
Good question. In the movie he tells Frank that the mob would not dare wack him because of all the dirt he had on them, supposedly safe and ready in case of foul play.

I have a legit question. How would Hoffa know about a hit on JFK when in the movie and story, Hoffa labeled the claim of their involvement, a fairytale?" We can't just put videos out just to put videos out. Some things have to have some kinda integrity.
In the book, the dialogue insinuates they did and that Hoffa ought to show appreciation for it
So former mobsters are allowed to say they hit kennedy but dont wanna reveal shit about hoffa? I dont understand
SO? something happened to him so where are the revelations?
They knew he knew. Why they took him out.
A decoder ring?? 😱😱
still tho , if he knows things about them that the mob don't even knew he knew thats not going to stop them from killing him because they don't know that he knows it !!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
He knew about the loans and that’s enough reason for them to kill him and honestly he really could of had more dirt but did any dirt come out when he disappeared?
My grandfather was a teamster when Hoffa was in. He died in a car bombing.
False and very homosexual
my granfather died trying to defend wakanda from a very tall purple dictator
My grandfather was also my father.
We know he died doing a gotse it's ok
Our Grandfathers tried to fill a bath with Cum
So, the book is true? Documentary? Your only source?
a heavy piece of history
hoffa stashed records in writing about all this somewhere?,if anything happens to me,,,,,,,,,then what? written or tape recordings to back him up
But in the movie, only jimmy seemed to hate the kennedys while other mafia members didn’t seem to dislike them
Sheeran didn’t kill Hoffa.
Anybody got any theories on what Hoffa meant about the secret information that would rock the nation ?
CIA recruited the mob to have JFK whacked
J Edgar Hoover being light in the loafers and blackmailed by the mob due to it? Lucky Luciano, the US government & their intelligence agencies all being in bed together since WWII, and taking over the world's heroin market together?

Everybody knows Sheeran made up a story on his deathbed to make some money to leave to his family so a discussion based on that fiction is a waste of time
Nuh uh bro I was there
Work of fiction
he should of kept his mouth shut about all the shit he knew it was inevitable they were going to kill him once he started saying shit like that why would they want such a loose end and if they really did kill jfk and tried to help with castro and bay of pigs why would he think hes untouchable thats foolish he should have realised that if they could do all that they would have no trouble killing him man didnt think things through and well he kinda was punching above his weight i think that sheeran was involved in the murder of him either directly or indirectly especially if he was told this information as he could of told the mafia what he said i dont think he was lying or atleast was a total lie when he said he killed hoffa i think he was the guy that told the mafia what hoffa knew which signed hoffas death warrant then they either made sheeran do it as he was a hitman anyway or they got some guys from out of town to do it people that werent associated with them which is probably why no one knows where he died or where his body is which from what ive heard from people from the mafia saying hes somewhere very wet which i think is the sea which would explain why no ones found him he was probably killed on a boat most likely a yacht or something then dumped at sea
Union leaders think they are more important than they really are. Bro, you are like an HOA… but for the job.
Mossad killed jfk. My God, blaming the Italians is such a Jewish move
