This was the most incredible show I'd ever seen in my life. If any of you were there, then you know what I'm saying

Two hours before the concert me and friends met him and others of the Parlia Funkadelic .Glen walking back stage with guitar in hand killing the guitar and showing his gift 1977. God bless Glen 🙏
No pro fools or auto toons here. Generations coming up cant even understand. Real artist musicians and performers dont exist in their funk less universe.
The bands all broke out 74-77, from pfunk.EWF, awb.commodores, mandrill, etc and Sly stone started it all, every band had there own sound, and when they did the colabration, of pickup the pieces you knew what horns were playing etc,, rest in perfect peace bro Glenn.. Listen to the horn section chase oh my god, the Creation of funkenstien.. #1
I know this may sound wild lol but this makes me think of my mothers friend. Every time she’s listen to Parliament she would have the biggest smile. I miss you Ma. Rest In Peace.
Please let’s not forget Mr Bigfoot Brailey holding the groove for the entire set. Glenn Goins is probably the most talented artist I’ve ever heard.. I just sit and listen to those liks over and over again! RIP
Glen was a DOPE GUITARIST, by far one of the best I've heard. You don't here a lot of guitars is now days match with their voice, but this DUDE, was truly a GIFT to both,(instruments/vocals). He and my dad were good friends. I can only wish to keep UP the FUNK now. #RipGlen #Funkin4Life #OneNation
If I had to choose one concert to time travel to and see in my life, this is it. If it's this good second-hand on low-grade tape, can only imagine the reality in person.
Glad I grew up at that same time. We went to SHOWS!!!! Musicians, smoke, crowd participation. Not pre-recorded tracks and a turntable. The Capital Center had P-Funk, Maze, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson, Chuck Brown, Trouble Funk, Rick James, Cameo and many more. That is why are kids are always mining our records. The last great period of R&B.
Boy everytime I listen to this video it takes me back to when I was in that little church at the end of the road like Glenn said when he played it and sing it it touched my heart God had his hands on that brother that's the baddest group in the universe
My uncle Stephen Smalls,a Funky bass player from Queens NY,took me to my first show circa 1977 at Madison Square Garden.I was a 16 yr old Guitarist/Bassist. I've been 'Funked up' ever since.
Damn Mann Every Time I hear This with Brotha Glenn Goins going off into a Zone to This Song.It almost brings Me to Tears. This Brotha was a Super Duper Ultra Magnificent Soul Stirring Song Bringer.I get to Thinking about The Rest of The Crew.Bernie Worrell, Eddie Hazel and Gary and The Sista from The Brides. And then I get thinking about My Own Family Members Who have passed on.Wishing life was a bit more better than what reality is showing. But then again Who doesn't think that from Time to Time. That's Why I'll never Stop Playing P.FUNK Music.Because it's The only Source that can allow Me to Have a Good Time and enjoy Myself. While at The same Time! reconnect and Stay connected to My Folks who are no longer here.

I can't help but cry when I see him sing. It was about 1978 when I saved my money to buy the PFUNK EARTH TOUR ALBUM. I was hanging up clothes on our outside clothes line. When Glenn came up to sign SWING DOWN, I felt a strong power coming from the speakers, ALL PRAISES ARE DUE TO ALLAH FOR GIVING US THIS SOUL-BROTHER, even just for a short 23 years. HOPE TO SEE AND TALK TO YOU SOON BROTHER GLENN.😢😂
They don't make 'em like this no more. I'm CONVINCED I was there in my past life, my connection with Eddie Hazel and Glen Goins and Bootsy Collins runs too deep ♥
People, ONLY 83,690 hits? This is an amazing display of musical talent, soul, inspiration, and showmanship by the entire ensemble! Not to mention, GLEN GOINS STRAIGHT KILLED THE VOCALS AND GUITAR!! Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Drake, Lil' Wayne...get MILLIONS of hits whith each of their songs. There is no comparison in terms of talent, showmanship, musicialship, or vocals. Imagine Beiber playing guitar the way Glen did here! Yes, folks, as human beings, there is something REALLY wrong with us.
Another great Swing Down. Uniquely dreamy and sad (and truly tragic, given Glenn's worsening condition), but still bringing the soul and funk. Another reminder of Glenn's incredible talent. Side note: check out the chick rushing the stage at 6:49 and getting escorted off! Glenn was driving 'em WILD that night!
I play that riff over and over myself. It has a soulful churchy feel. It's that kind of feel good sound that you have to listen to over and over and over again.l
MAN THESE YOUNG KIDS DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY MISSED !! THE BEST COCERT I EVER WENT TOO STILL LOVE AND LISTEN TO THIS . I HAD FRONT ROW SEATS WHEN THEY CAME TOO MICHIGAN I WILL NEVER FORGET IT!!

Something so magical about this man just singing and playing his guitar.
Singing and Playing with truth that in him
People don't realize how difficult it was to perform with so many musicians, vocalist etc.. and do it flawlessly!
It can be when caught up Spirit of PFunk
today's groups can not even touch Parliament Funkadelic or Earth Wind & Fire because today they can't even play an instrument
No pro fools or auto toons here. Generations coming up cant even understand. Real artist musicians and performers dont exist in their funk less universe.
Well, some! Not all. There are great bands, still.
But we call them musicians...🤔
Right On very well SAID they are the BEST 🙏🏼💜🙏🏼
The riff he kicks off at 4:22 is honestly one of the best things I've *ever* heard. Period. I wish I could make a loop out of it.
Starts at 3:49
@Roy Williams This is Their Best Song.
The Spirit of P-Funk took over
@Roy Williams No stories to tell? Spill it!
Why don’t you stop being lazy and learn how to actually play a guitar and create your own “loop” instead?
Glen was a fuckin' monster...Straight up...
Glen was all of 23 here! Child prodigy, gone far too soon. We know of his singing merits, but the boy could deliver stellar guitar licks too, to boot!
He was better than George. Swing down, I wanna ride❤❤
He’s the one on the 12-string acoustic on “Munchies for Your Love” among others. He was talented many times over and gone far too soon
Sang it Glen....makes you feel like there's nothing you can't accomplish. Oh yeah I wanna ride.
The Spirit of P-Funk took over

Hey Lynne.
Thank you!!
I was at the 1977 Los Angeles, Live Forum Concert.. Greatest funk band on the planet, there will never be another!!

I love Glenn's Guitar work on this. And his voice!!!!!! When I found my gospel singing voice Glenn was one of the ones I pulled from!
Glen was singing to Spirit
Wish it was more shows like this. I have to settle for the concert in my car. This is true music
GG vocals added something to P-funk that they were never able to adequately duplicate after he left
That's why it makes it so tragic for him to die so young..
💕👍🎊 💯🙏💯🙏🌞♥️ CHARLES THOMPSON 💕💕
