1:51:41 It’s contradictory to hold Namco accountable for their decisions if you believe in determinism. Their monetization strategies and lack of balance are the results of an uninterruptable chain of past events, right? Yet, you discuss them as if they could have made different choices, which implies that you believe in free will. If that’s not the case, then complaining about their actions doesn’t make sense since those actions couldn’t have been changed. I agree with your criticisms of Tekken, but I’m confused about how you can support determinism while suggesting that the situation could have been avoided. Sorry if I put words in your mouth and didn’t understand well. I would love for you to explain it. Best tekken content creator so far!
I got downvoted to hell for mentioning Harada's history of lying and how they dumped the responsibility of Blue Protocol's failure onto Tekken 8. People are rightfully angry but it's also self inflicted by a community that has no competition in the 3D space, never speaking out against bullshit like paid frame data or the completely 180 on "never charging for legacy character's, etc. Tekken 8 isn't the worst product in the world but they actively do stuff to make it as unfun as possible.
You should be grateful they didn't charge at least $10 for the stage seeing as you only paid $120 for the Ultimate Edition and spent at least another $20 on other useless garbage. In fact you should send money to each of the Namco employees as a thank you for this low low price of $5 for such a beautiful stage. Tekken fans are too spoiled and doesn't deserve any of this. Only $5 dollars !!!
I just hope the ppl that are upset don't still spend money on this. The MK community complained about costumes prices but still bought items regardless. Gotta vote with your wallet.
It's a long video, so i dont know if this is mentioned anywhere, but i find it funny how i haven't read anything about early access being scammy as hell. It's not early access. It's normal access, the character is out and ready. It's only LATE access for the rest of us who dont want to pay extra. Namco is way too greedy with this game, it's not debatable anymore
This makes me more sound in the decision to pirate. There was a sale on steam and i considered buying but something told me not to. Bamco Marketing will nickle and dime the loyalists fot every damn cent. Tekken Project the devs -- as they say are caught between a rock and hard place. This is TEKKEN dying infront of us in real time.
The crazy part that this game is only ten months long but compared to T7 8 year run, it feels way longer. Which since not even a year passed, it's not good. It means it's dragging.
@@falconeshield fact. also what no one noticed, lydias stage his just the tekken ball stage, harada knew he couldnt sell a stage which is already in-game for 5usd. this genmaji stage scandal sounds like a predatory deliberate scam. i messaged him @harada_TEKKEN with a link to the recent steam reviews which were mostly all negative and he deleted my reply to my post and blocked me. this man is a scammer! i have no respect for him and will continue to pirate for each update. screw him.
21:53 I dont think people like Phidx are saying you should HAVE to care about the inner workings of the dev team and bandai namco and how that might be affecting monetisation, I think he's just trying to offer another perspective and giving an explanation as to why he's more sympathetic. I just feel like energy should also be spent educating people and reminding them how micro transactions work in gaming rn rather than JUST demanding change, because there's gonna be enough people who continue to buy this stuff (some because they actually want to) which will make change unlikely. And I also think it's wasted energy to demonise people who are in whatever way defending or trying to explain the practices, since I'd assume it's the sales numbers mostly that will dictate decisions. I'm not saying you can't disagree with people but idk why people assume ill intent just because we have different opinions. Like the hostility I see from people on both sides is silly on topics like this because a lot of whether you're prepared to pay for something comes down to personal choices and preferences, it's not objective. By all means speak out against it if you don't agree with the decisions but I think its also important to remind people to ask themselves things like "if you buy the deluxe edition now and it doesn't include some other paid content that you'd have to buy separately, would you be ok with that?" That gives people info and helps them hold off on decisions they might regret later. But only focusing on how people NOW feel screwed over I don't think is the optimal way to create change if that's the goal because the money has been got so it's too late in some ways. My main point is I don't think it's fair to demonise people who are explaining why they don't have a problem with something (when it's preference based like whether you are happy with a product or not), as if they are now responsible for you being unhappy with it. I haven't really disagreed with that much of what you've said this video tbf tho.
I don't care about buying stuff if I enjoy what I'm buying but only if the game is good and tekken 8 is shit. I'm seeing people say don't buy this stage to prove a message? I haven't bought anything because why would I buy a character to lab against if the game is riddled with too many mechanics? I don't need convincing it's pretty simple.
I've been sick of this kind of behaviour since they added the store. Even when I was hyped and got tekken 8 when it came out the box said "day one edition", and it was kind of a warning because of course it's day one edition it's release day! Please continue to post these videos, I think it's invaluable.
I feel like a chump for buying the ULTIMATE EDITION, this game straight up giving me PTSD for getting the max priced version of a game, never again😢. Bamco literally laughing like Frame at 0:41 😂.
OHH NOOO YOU FEEL LIKE A CHUMP. OHH NOO NOT YOUR PRIDE NOOOO. NOOO YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE A COOL GUY WHO ALWAYS SPENDS HIS MONEY RIGHT YES!!! I HAVE GREAT PRIDE IN HOW I SPEND MY MONEY!!! THATS WHAT MAKES ME SPECIAL :)))
Surely Namco must have forseen this backlash? Dumb decision. The battle pass is still trash too of course. Might as well make the game subscription based like an MMORPG.
T8 was my first Tekken. I can see the makings of a great game buried beneath mismanagement, micro transactions and Bamco’s greed. Tekken deserves better.
Just showed up to confirm it's gone too. I imagine Namco didn't like how he implied he'll set the publishing team straight, but it also sucks because it probably means selling stages separately from season passes won't change as a practice.
I need to satisfy that competitive itch so I started playing chess.. that’s how badfighting games are nowadays they are piss easy, dumbed down and the developers clearly aren’t passionate about the art like the old ones

This is simply ridiculous now... no other words.. just ridiculous. They are charging for the stage now. I can understand about the characters, but a stage?? Really??? Actually it should have been free for everyone. But let's forget that for now. If they couldn't do that much, then at least they should have made it free for the deluxe and ultimate edition users. But no... they can't do that either. I don't know how much further Bamco will stoop low, and how much they are thinking of stooping. But looking at it, it seems that they are not going to desist from their activities. Moreover, there are still some people who are still supporting this scummy, greedy behavior by Bamco. Instead of pointing out this problem, they are blindly admiring Bamco for minor things, like being able to put their main characters in the main menu screen, new halloween items in tekken shop, etc. Shame on them. btw... As soon as I watched this video for 1 minute, I also started laughing with you. The scenario being the most funny, and most satirical at the same time, with you opening 9 reddit tabs of people complaining about the paid stage, and the utter silence in the first 30 seconds, then followed by the ironical laughter for the next 30 secs. 😂😂😂💔💔🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

So the poor devs are forced to do it, but now you don’t want to give them more money for their poor families, because at the end of the day it’s dogshit no matter what? Yea its … really just cope.
I can only think of South Park, "We're sorry." I can't wait to see $20 stage. $10 to open the wall break + $10 for the floor break. $5 per use stage hazard. I started the year wanting to stick to tekken, imma go back to sf6.
Blue protocol tax with a little concord interest 😂
Small side gripe i have is we cant customize locked characters.. like why whats gonna happen by locking that.
I had no idea he listens to rap

It’s contradictory to hold Namco accountable for their decisions if you believe in determinism.
Tmm is that you??🤣
@@josemota9188 Oh I wish I could get paid to be a shill !
I just hope the ppl that are upset don't still spend money on this. The MK community complained about costumes prices but still bought items regardless. Gotta vote with your wallet.
They are trust me they are, some in the comments even admitted to doing so and dont even care because "its just 5 dollars" .
"do you know what i hate about being right all the time?" man im 1min in and i already feel you
It's a long video, so i dont know if this is mentioned anywhere, but i find it funny how i haven't read anything about early access being scammy as hell. It's not early access. It's normal access, the character is out and ready. It's only LATE access for the rest of us who dont want to pay extra. Namco is way too greedy with this game, it's not debatable anymore
I'm legit a ultimate Edition Pass holder and this feels so wrong. I paid it twice for me and then my wife.
I think that's why they recently put Tekken 8 on sale.
Two hours? More content than the entire update.
For free!
I had so much hope for T8. I wasn't into fightings but always liked and respected tekken. So sad it got modern gamedev treatment.
How long before Frame starts to laugh?

Bamco is trying follow the warframe model where we get new characters and cosmetics, only issue is that tekken 8 is not free to play
Surely Namco must have forseen this backlash? Dumb decision. The battle pass is still trash too of course. Might as well make the game subscription based like an MMORPG.
When DLC that makes ranked 0.1 per roll comes out, you would memba this as a good one
T8 was my first Tekken.
I can see the makings of a great game buried beneath mismanagement, micro transactions and Bamco’s greed. Tekken deserves better.
So the Harada apology Tweet is gone uh oh 🤨 you think Bandai got to him and forced him to delete it?
@@Diu1999is it really??
@@FrameWhispereryes i noticed a second ago I don’t know when it was deleted I know you don’t have Twitter how should I send it to you frame?
@@Diu1999 I trust you, thanks!
Just showed up to confirm it's gone too. I imagine Namco didn't like how he implied he'll set the publishing team straight, but it also sucks because it probably means selling stages separately from season passes won't change as a practice.
@@Valvadrix Imho this means he has redacted his apology and he is no longer sorry.
Harada deleted his apology ggs glhf
I need to satisfy that competitive itch so I started playing chess.. that’s how badfighting games are nowadays they are piss easy, dumbed down and the developers clearly aren’t passionate about the art like the old ones
I missed the stream... I was too drunk 😭
I wanna be powerful like everyone else. I have Azazel’s hand for crying out loud 😂
Not happy about the stage but also, I'm still shocked the ending for this game wasn't actually in the game.
This isn't like normal DLC.
5 dollars for a stage holy shit😂. These are the times were in
36:00 not a video game producer but Games Workshop operates this way and has led to some very poor decisions. Particularly hosing the consumer even more aggressively.
Anoooo desu ne minna san desu ne! Ahhhhh etooo ne wakaru ne sou sou desu ne
If they release a game and make it out to be a live product, prepare for constant complaining, rightfully so!
Time to start #bandaigate ... Never buy anything from them ever again.
Framewhisper never saw mike holleys video defending namco on selling the stage separately
I heard he ate some bad brownies and got confused?
I didnt buy the stage but had a match on it last night, in Quick Match 🤷
I love ya bro I really do.
But it kinda hypothetical when you talk about ppl disrespecting their customers, and you can't edit out your bathroom breaks??
Lol. Do better!
I enjoy your takes and your boldness to say it! See ya in the next one, brother !❤
Do you mean hypocritical ?
@@brandonspringfield2861 yes. Stupid autocorrect. Ty
i am so turned off by T8's practices, man, it's sad. I've already uninstalled, but now I'm done for sure.
#werenotaskingforshit
what do you expect its BAMCO
MainFrameSWE and FrameDX
Want me to support you by buying all this shit? Fix the goddamn server and pluggers. Only then would this be justifiable, and they don't even do that.
Lol its close to $10 in aud LOL wtf
It's fine you don't think you're responsible to give the developers the benefit of the doubt, but that doesn't mean you have to be a dick poking at people like PhiDx.
As you said, we don't know.
algorithm!
bro make a video on tekken 5 dr and how much you loved it and how much its better then tekken 8
Never played 5, I started in Tag 2.
2 class gaming
I've never spent money on DLC or a stage and I never will. I already bought the game so if i enjoy the game ill continue to play BUT we definitely should talk about the predatory behavior. Kinda sucks that you and pdx have equals views that we dont know who to blame the developers or bamco. Either way just dont buy.
As much as I'd like to play Tekken I'd rather have my money back for this cancerous game.
Smfh, this is what it's become. I'm saying tekken 8 is trash 🗑
