I've been taking creatine for about a year now. It's helped me push my squat and deadlift for sure. It does have me carry around water weight, but that's ok. I didn't know about the hair loss, something I've experienced lately so I'll need to look deeper into that.
Im 50 and my strength levels are getting less and less. Roughly 3 months ago (100 days) I started taking BCAA power and that really works for me. Creatine never did it for me. I was taking it with water and it was basically producing expensive urine and not much else. Im glad its working for you though
OH HECK YES!! Thank you for this! Added it to my basket - checking out now - consider me now confident that it’s not just for muscle men and isn’t gonna make me fat 💪🏼
I took creatine when I was waking the Wales Coast Path in 2022 and it massively helped with my recovery and allowed me to walk the 870 miles in 50 days. I felt amazing for the whole trip - . However, I ran out about 4/5 days before the end and it really impacted me not taking it.(I was using Lamberts - but they haven't had any in stock since June 2022) I've started taking a different brand now in the am (which I don't think is as good a quality), with athletic greens and collagen powder (protein rebel). Great way to start the day! Thanks for another awesome video!!
I’m green to your channel but it’s quickly become one of my faves. I am 43 & have been learning/researching muscle benefits for health & recently bought some creatine. I was only taking it on days I exercised. I love your informative video & will continue to take it everyday now. Thank you. Btw, you & your accent are just the cutest.
Nice video Laura:) Been a subscriber since 2021 lockdowns. Seeing your channel growth since then has been inspiring! I haven't taken creatine before but am planning to try it out soon.
Great video. Feeling so inspired by you and your journey. Blood and stool samples, creatine supplement… feeling like I can finally get some clarity on my health and some support with being my most vibrant self in life!! So much Love 💗 Xxx
I've taken creatine in the past and retain so much water; at the muscular and cellular level, and kind of felt like a bloated dead cow during that time. I've been thinking about taking it again, just at a lower dose, to see what kind of results I'll get with the leveled up resistance training. Thank you for sharing your journey and the information, it's greatly appreciated. Have a terrific day!
I take a1/4tea every other day in the am. I'm post menopausal, have a hairline hip fracture, arthritis throughout my spine so these issues fatigue me. The creatine has helped with the fatigue and endurance. I did find when I took it daily the water retention made me feel worse. Overall highly recommended, it has helped me get back to the active life I enjoy.
I was taking it for around 5 months a few years ago, the problem I found with it was the muscles grow quicker than the ligaments & tendons can keep up creating tendonopathy’s and muscle imbalances
I started taking beta alanine (when I happened to order some to qualify free postage) never having taken any supplement before bar vitamins and protein shakes, but I have to sing its praises. It helped alleviate depression, give focus, and of course increase longevity and general energy for workout. I read a bit about BA pairing well with creatine, so I guess the trick is to know the top up amounts once you are up to max capacity after a few weeks. Great channel thanks LT
From what I have read, watched and listened, it's not something that happens. This is a great one hour podcast if you have the time: ruclips.net/video/kxsyPZR0mAM/видео.html
30 year old male, I have taken and do supplement w creatine monohydrate every few days. Previously when I did take it in higher doses, I experienced better muscle growth, more intense workouts and better recovery. It also feels great when the muscles feel full and bigger during supplementation. Now I mostly use it for recovery when i feel the need for it. On the downside I have experienced some hairloss. I have had a genetic predisposition towards male pattern baldness which I have been experiencing regardless of creatine supplementation, however I believe creatine did accelerate the hairloss slightly. This isn't really a big deal for me tbh. Plus imho if you have a genetic predisposition, you'll lose it anyway. Your posture and the way you carry yourself matters way more than how much hair you have as a man in my experience.
Your results might have been different if you’d taken it either before your new diet / exercise regime, or after when you were well established into it. You’ve essentially added 3 variables (diet exercise and creatine) so cannot conclude if the creatine has been the determining factor. Personally I have taken creatine gummies for the last 4 months and noticed the difference even though my diet and training are the same. I’ve got stronger and my concentration is better than before. The only downside for me is the weight gain - I’m not fatter but I feel ‘fuller’ in my muscles.
A valid point - it seemed I didn't have time on my side to wait though. Fast muscle decline was putting my future health at risk, and I need all the help I could get. It seems to have worked.
@@LauraTryUK yes strength training has so many benefits, yet so few people do it! You’re looking much brighter too, though I suspect your diet has helped a lot ☺️
@@lexasilvestre yes it was much worse when I switched to powder creatine. I stopped taking it as couldn’t deal with the puffy weight gain. Workouts weren’t improved either. Waste of money 👎🏼
I've started taking creatine about a week ago. I am now hitting PBs in the gym and experience my body as more toned... which probably only is a feeling depending on where I am in my cycle. I have gained 1 kg due to it, but I can't feel it in my body, so it's just my scale telling me that.
I take creatine every day along with the collagen peptide supplement. I have noticed overall muscle recovery, cognitive function, increased performance in my workouts. My sleep has been great as well!
Awesome results - thanks for sharing and you've given me something to think about👍 Never knew it improved cognition, so might be worth an experiment and see if it helps me.
Thanks for commenting 🙏🏼 So much research been and being done, and some really great things coming from it 🧠 It's basically extra power and energy for the brain .
I've been taking Creatine for around 6 months and the benefits are worth it! I combine it with HMB, which helps my muscles to recover faster. HMB accelerates the healing of torn muscles too. Be warned: If you take HMB, take it in the mornings. When I take it in the evening, I am windy all night. That is horrible! 🤢
Good overview LT. It would be hard to parse out the effect of creatine when you made so many changes simultaneously. However, yes, it is well-researched and accepted as safe and effective. My question is how do you know if you have naturally high levels? Also, What is the scale/body analyzer you use? Thanks.
Great video! So important to see more women showing the importance and benefits of resistance training, and alongside it other "guy" or "bodybuilder" activities ✨👏 I do resistance training and take creatine not just for general health but mainly to manage my ADHD symptoms. It makes a world of difference 💪
I've been taking krealyn. I take 2 capsules before a workout and 2cnore after if it was a strength training workout. I'm a 64 year old female and I believe it has helped me retain my muscle mass. I get compliments on my shoulder and back lately.
Was just looking at a load of creatine that my son left behind when he left. I didn't realise that it helped with cognition that is really interesting as I get a lot of brain fog. Might give it a go.
Fantastic video. I was a PT for 15 years but only work as a physio now. I always tell people to take creatine and most think it's the devil in disguise.
Yep definitely going to give it a go I work in a health shop so it’s there on the shelf but your video has inspired me to give it a go will start on Monday which is 24th July so by November I should be seeing some results 😊thanks for the video x🥰x
I think because I am putting lots of force on the bones during the weight training and it's causing them to get stronger, which is great, as before that my bones were getting weaker - as shown in a body composition test.
I love your videos. I tried a very small amount of creatine (1 gram) and it made me gain weight and get puffy. I tried it for months. And I do work out! So I gave it up. I was very sad about it.
I found it very effective for lifting heavier weight for more reps, until it started giving me explosive headaches after a few months. I tried it a few times after that and the explosive headaches happened after a couple of days so I don't use it anymore.
I've been taking five grams of creatine for three months every day. I have definitely seen an increase in muscle mass. However my doctor wants me to stop taking it all together because my blood pressure was 190/83. She said it may be affecting my kidneys.
we should also say, how lovely you looked in this video. may be another good reason to to take creatine and yes I take it. thankfully I still have me old hair.
Thanks for the video, it’s great timing because we just bought our first tub of Creatine. Both in our 60s and do weights training, but I’ve had plantar fasciitis and inflamed Achilles after an 800 km hike, I’m hoping that Creatine helps these attachment sites eventually (as I know the blood supply to these areas is lower). Wondering if anyone else has used creatine for this problem and what the results were??
I tried for 3 months 3 grams, and it flared up my acne big time. It helped my performance slightly. I tried another brand for 2 month and still had violent flare ups. Such a bummer, I had to stop.
I am 55 and started taking creatine. In my annual checkup that included blood work, not suprisingly my creatinine levels were elevated. Normally this is a marker for potential renal issues. I can’t seem to find much in the literature that says this is expected and safe so I am pausing this until I speak to my doctor. I really liked the benefits I seemed to get from creatine but of course don’t want to harm my kidneys. Any thoughts on this?
Please, a vidro on your mealplan, not yo copy but be inspired by some choices and background. Will test and study this supplement for the cognitive input.
62 year old male. Have been taking 3-5 grams per day for a couple years. Seems to be helping with the workouts and overall energy. Haven't tried to be scientific about it.

4.45 sec. Laura put an armchair instead of a chair. The chair will rest against the bed. Put your feet on the end of the table. Press your feet into the table. Great leg workout. Work on the computer.
When I take 5-10g creatine per day my shape gets 2x better, less warer retention, full as hell in strength training and I feel brilliant! I get the most compliments on my body, when I take creatine 😂
I am here for improved cognition, memory, mood and bone density! Yes!!! 🙌🏼 I hope I can take it! I tried collagen and that gave me massive headaches and I rarely have headaches!
been taking creatine for years. morning and night. it lets you lift more/harder, pretty simple. it’s noticeable. never noticed a cognitive effect, but self observation isn’t real data. curious about real experiments.
Have to say, my wife has been vegan for at least a decade now and only supplements with iron and b12. She has done many a trail ultra and weight programmes and has absolutely no problem with energy or muscle tone. The human body is awesome, adaptscrapidly but has evolved over a long period. Supplementing shoudn't really be necessary at all unless you don't eat a balanced and varied diet. Even then, you can tweak that - plenty of ways to get protein for example on a vegan diet. And hjust build up exercise levels over time. No need to bulk up fast. Plus, unless you dropped the exercise and diet/supplement plan and did what you did before but just added creatine we aren't able to make any comparison at all really.
Hey Laura, I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and I like them very much. This one was no different. I just wanna point that either the unit is wrong or the concept: was it a 200g gain in bone mass or 200g/(unit of volume) gain in bone density?
Hey, no I don't. You may have high ghrelin levels, just a guess. I used to have high ghrelin, I talk about it in my blood test video: ruclips.net/video/KzTvTYbTjJ4/видео.htmlsi=DAjnYb_2rAyTvPOK. And again in my latest video: ruclips.net/video/KzTvTYbTjJ4/видео.htmlsi=DAjnYb_2rAyTvPOK

Something about you despite your normality contains a high ability to process action, and when you do, you endup pulling epic stunts. And from that point onward the rest of the zombies un the world copy your recipe, your algorithm in how you processed what you processed. You are a pioneer. Everyone else is a follower.
Keep up the good work.

great video i love creatine i started a few months ago. good to change the narrative of creatine making people gain weight it has helped me lost weight too
Good to see you stuck with the program and jast gave it an excellent effort with wonderful results.
Awesome results Laura, looking fit.
Laura your looking fabulous !
Great before and after vids. Whether it is creatine or the other changes you have made, the transformation is amazing!
I loved the results when I took it but had to stop because it upset my stomach. Love your videos their so inspiring and honest ❤
I've taken creatine in-frequently and I have noticed that it does improve my strength and recovery. Thanks for doing this.
Perfectly timed video! I've been wondering about creatine recently. Thanks for sharing
excellent news! I hope you found it helpful.
There's some great studies showing fantastic things.

@@LauraTryUK Awesome, thank you! I've been really enjoying your videos recently - learning a lot and helping me think about my own health and small changes I can make too!
Good job on this video Laura, keep up the good work on your fitness journey!!!!!
I've only just discovered your channel, and I'm really enjoying it and learning loads.
Could you leave the video running for a few seconds at the end, so I (and others) can hit the like, please? I'm usually so engrossed i forget and then have to restart it to add a like 👍🏻
Thanks, keep up the good work 👏🏻
Loving your videos and covered topics. Keep up the great work 🙂
that jacket/blouse looks amazing on you!
My brother used it years ago for gaining mass and got some awesome results. I'm very tempted to try it out to assist with fatigue and energy.
If you do give it a go, please report back with your results 🙏🏼
I've been taking creatine for about a year now. It's helped me push my squat and deadlift for sure. It does have me carry around water weight, but that's ok. I didn't know about the hair loss, something I've experienced lately so I'll need to look deeper into that.
That thing about hair loss it's a total myth. No real, trust worth it study have found anything that back this up.
Yes LT love seeing your transformation, seems like all your hard work with training and diet is paying off. 😀
cheers Pete 💪I feel much better for it.
Im 50 and my strength levels are getting less and less. Roughly 3 months ago (100 days) I started taking BCAA power and that really works for me. Creatine never did it for me. I was taking it with water and it was basically producing expensive urine and not much else. Im glad its working for you though
Which BCAA are you using? Thanks
Have a lovely day
@niamhbyrne4036 if I'm honest i use the one that is on special offer. Currently I'm using USN the raspberry favoured one
I like your videos, only seen one or 2 but i like your personality its really refreshing
Hi Laura, you should do a audio book or a mind app. Your voice is so calming, I would happily listen to a LT mind/meditation app.
lol, thank you for saying so.
Great video. Feeling so inspired by you and your journey. Blood and stool samples, creatine supplement… feeling like I can finally get some clarity on my health and some support with being my most vibrant self in life!! So much Love 💗 Xxx
Great video (again). It's been awhile since you popped up again in RUclips (not since the Theragun). Good to see your still going 💪💪
I’m still here 🙋🏼♀️
Thanks for watching.
Wow, the Theragun video was a while back.
That was my finding too. I started being able to lift much more in the squat and bench but unfortunately my tendons couldn't keep up.
Thanks Laura I will give it a try I hope the hair loss doesn’t happen 😧keep up the vids very good to watch👍
The last sentence 🙌
Having more hair never made anyone healthier either 😀
It's intracellular water retention.
@@lexasilvestre yes it was much worse when I switched to powder creatine. I stopped taking it as couldn’t deal with the puffy weight gain. Workouts weren’t improved either. Waste of money 👎🏼
Ive tried it but not enough to notice results, but with its reputation and what I learnt from your YT, I must stick with it.
defo stick with it Conner, give it 2-4 weeks and see if you notice a difference 💪
I've started taking creatine about a week ago. I am now hitting PBs in the gym and experience my body as more toned... which probably only is a feeling depending on where I am in my cycle. I have gained 1 kg due to it, but I can't feel it in my body, so it's just my scale telling me that.
Great video beautiful!! Thank you ❤
I"ve taken creatine on and off for years. I just don't know what my workout would be without it.
I take creatine every day along with the collagen peptide supplement. I have noticed overall muscle recovery, cognitive function, increased performance in my workouts. My sleep has been great as well!
Ooh I might give it a go. I want to start strength training soon. I really like your jazzy shirt, it suits you⚡️
It’s a great combo!
The shirt is a dress- I wish I’d showed it. Wore it because it actually fits now 😀
@@LauraTryUK 😀 maybe in the next video 👗
Awesome results - thanks for sharing and you've given me something to think about👍
Never knew it improved cognition, so might be worth an experiment and see if it helps me.
Thanks for commenting 🙏🏼
So much research been and being done, and some really great things coming from it 🧠 It's basically extra power and energy for the brain .
Thanks.
I’m not too sure about knowing about naturally high levels. Perhaps a blood test? 🤔
Or if someone doesn’t feel much benefit.
I couldn’t believe the change adding creatine had on my recovery and exercise sessions. More power is how I would best articulate my experience.
Am I tempted, why yes I actually paused the video to order it.
Did I just see you in a preview for a Channel 4 show Laura? 😮
Great video! So important to see more women showing the importance and benefits of resistance training, and alongside it other "guy" or "bodybuilder" activities ✨👏
I do resistance training and take creatine not just for general health but mainly to manage my ADHD symptoms. It makes a world of difference 💪
Interesting about creatine and your ADHD! Very interesting.
That’s great @dariadavay5099 - What differences have you noticed?
It’s been a bit since I’ve slurped some ‘tine on the regular. Thanks for the reminder to do so.
It does have a reputation doesn't it? Perhaps that will start changing.
Most people really are idiots.
@@LauraTryUK hopefully. It's a fantastic supplement and if I'm not mistaking, there has been more research done on it than any other supplement.
@@RunSensible I think you are correct - creatine and caffeine are level from what I have heard
Calling it the menopause is probably the most British thing you could say.
Yep definitely going to give it a go I work in a health shop so it’s there on the shelf but your video has inspired me to give it a go will start on Monday which is 24th July so by November I should be seeing some results 😊thanks for the video x🥰x
Thanks for the info very much enjoy your lighthearted approach. Do you take AG1 as well?
Did not expect the 200g bone density increase tbh that is amazing !
I think because I am putting lots of force on the bones during the weight training and it's causing them to get stronger, which is great, as before that my bones were getting weaker - as shown in a body composition test.
@@LauraTryUK aaah right i've read before that weight lifting has a positive impact in bone strength but also on density it seems how great.
I love your videos. I tried a very small amount of creatine (1 gram) and it made me gain weight and get puffy. I tried it for months. And I do work out! So I gave it up. I was very sad about it.
Great Video !!!
I am definitely going to give it a Go
Thanks Lara
I am so pleased, thanks William 🙏🏼
@@LauraTryUK Thanks for making Great Videos
( Laura)!!! Sorry for misspelling your name last time
I love creatine. I have seen changes in my body after taking it
Hope you do a "what I eat in a day" video
I will do that in a few months for sure!
thank you for showing interest.
I found it very effective for lifting heavier weight for more reps, until it started giving me explosive headaches after a few months. I tried it a few times after that and the explosive headaches happened after a couple of days so I don't use it anymore.
I will definitely have to look into getting some to try
Thanks for sharing…good job
Love your videos. Where did you get your awesome shirt?
I’m curious to know more about your food diet plan. Do you have a video on what you eat in a week?
A video about that in a few months 👍 thanks for showing interest.
The most researched supplement so far
I bet you have heard it a million times🥲 ( if you haave ever watched something related this, but it's an important piece of info for sure)
Amazing vid , loved it ❤
4.45 sec. Laura put an armchair instead of a chair. The chair will rest against the bed. Put your feet on the end of the table. Press your feet into the table. Great leg workout. Work on the computer.
Great video, i’m tempted but the old baldness thing makes me wary, i’m 40 and not bald just yet, i have baldness running in the family
When I take 5-10g creatine per day my shape gets 2x better, less warer retention, full as hell in strength training and I feel brilliant! I get the most compliments on my body, when I take creatine 😂
Wow. I think, I know your cousin Will; Will Try :)
Thank you so much for support!
The bone thing; I use some body composition scales and they give ‘bone mass’
Is that the right one?
I took creatine for less than a week and it made me have an accident at work lmao. I threw it away after that. I think I was taking too much :(
Do you find increased appetite? I'm hungry ALL the time.
Hey, no I don't.
You may have high ghrelin levels, just a guess. I used to have high ghrelin, I talk about it in my blood test video: ruclips.net/video/KzTvTYbTjJ4/видео.htmlsi=DAjnYb_2rAyTvPOK.
And again in my latest video: ruclips.net/video/KzTvTYbTjJ4/видео.htmlsi=DAjnYb_2rAyTvPOK
Yes
Another great vedios from a great women in the world I never fall in love whit a women like you ❤❤ laura ....❤❤❣ I will share that on fb whit my gfs
I've been taking it for a year or so, I don't know if it makes any difference. the brand I get tastes good
What skin products do you use laura
Hey, I use Cerave & The Ordinary.
I may make a video about it.
videos by Bryan Johnson and Ali Abdaal helped confirm my decision.
Great thanks 😊
Some research suggests you should time your creatine monohydrate to be when you consume protein (and carbs unless on a keto diet)
I heard a few things - with carbs, during a workout - then listened to Dr Darren Candow and he said as long as you get it in each day.
@LauraTryUK the time of day doesn't matter. But the food combining can aid utilisation in the body. 😊
@@littlevoice_11 aha, got you!!!! 🙏🏼
Thank you extremely interesting never heard of creotine.
