    Stop 'n' Swop was finally solved by Sakurai. Turns out it never was for Banjo Tooie at all, it was for Smash Ultimate to give everyone Banjo and Kazooie.

    The stop n' swap fanfare was re used in DK64 when unlocking a boss door. In fact, DK6e used a lot of music not used in Banjo Kazooie and Project Dream.

    I used to be a member of the RarewitchProject forums (ssj) and this theory is very similar to what I came up with back in the day. My idea was that Gruntilda's Lair (The Tower Room) was the transformation chamber from BK. However, instead of using the door the machines in the room themselves were used to transfer the eggs over. This was also referenced in the Banjo Tooie xbla version. When Heggy hatches all of the eggs, Kazooie specifically states that '''so this is what stop n swop has come down to, egg hatching? It'll be machines next''. Based on the fact that rare made a direct joke to this makes the whole Tower room theory much more believable.

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  5 лет назад +1

      Super Saiyajin Egor hmm that would actually be more interesting if it were the machines themselves. What I took from that xbla reference was that the “machines” referred to nuts&bolts, but I guess it’s fairly vague anyway. But the tower room seems optimal for swopping either way

    • @ShadwSonic
      @ShadwSonic 3 года назад

      You're both technically wrong. Hatching that last egg gives you an item in a menu called "Stop 'N Swop II", with both a title and an icon of some sort of machine thing. This is not the only one either, each Tooie SNS location (minus Yellow Egg) gives one, you get one for having used every transformation, another is awarded after dying a bunch of times in Boss Attack mode, and a final prize is granted for completing Boss Attack with a low enough combined time. They all do nothing in any of the three games (the N&B blueprints are for cashing the SNS 1 items in, not earning the SNS 2 items), so the mystery has yet to reach a final conclusion even still.

  • @Nathan35077
    @Nathan35077 7 лет назад +9

    I won't say we weren't supposed to be able to explore gruntildas lair, but I believe the reason it says entrance, is because it IS the entrance and anyone who played the first one knows that. I don't think there was any hidden meaning behind it. But like I said, it is possible we were also supposed to explore into it once again. But I do believe the fact it said entrance is just because it is the entrance to her lair. Which we destroyed in the first one.

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  7 лет назад +5

      Nathan Pierce yes, I agree. I was more trying to emphasize the use of subtitles in the lair and the hidden code that says, “Gruntilda’s Lair (Tower Room),” as to suggest that at some point you could travel to different areas of the lair

  • @blazeuchiha2169

    My biggest problem with the "fake" eggs is if they went through the trouble of programming fake eggs to prevent hackers from getting the eggs illegitimately, then why also program sandcastle codes for them too? I mean hackers wouldn't need sandcastle codes to activate them in-game or in the menu. Just seems weird to me

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  4 года назад

      Well that I think was the point. The fact that they knew people would find fake eggs so when they typed them in something else would have happened. Wouldn’t surprise me with the old team at Rareware to troll players like that honestly lol

    • @blazeuchiha2169
      @blazeuchiha2169 4 года назад

      Also the Cyan egg is in a room like the Pink and Blue eggs. A room the player wouldn't normally have access to, unlike the Green, Red and Yellow eggs being in rooms the player is supposed to visit to find Jiggies and other valuables. It definitely doesn't make since for that to be one of the fake eggs.

    I once tried following what that Rare interview suggested: getting the four middle eggs and key (not the cyan and yellow eggs), going through that warp caldron, but the tower room door was still closed. Apparently it was supposed to open and have a corridor behind where you could walk down and then hear Grunty complain about Blackeye, then you get prompted to turn off the N64. Did anybody actually manage to find this? I know the items don’t get swapped to Tooie, but I would have thought this last part would at least still be in the first game?

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  4 года назад +3

      Chris O'Neal idk so weird. I always thought there’d be some line of code at least in the game that someone would have found by now. I’m still convinced there’d leftover secrets in the first game

    • @chrisoneal2718
      @chrisoneal2718 3 года назад +1

      @@Gamerbielz That’s exactly what I would have thought too. If the Rare interview is correct, you would think someone could run a word search in the BK code for “Blackeye” as there can’t be too many references to him in the first game (apart from the MMM portraits)….

    Isn’t the transformation room door that might have been used the one on the left instead of on the right? The right one has nothing behind it and the left one has what appears to be a narrow pathway. I know you can’t go too far down it without voiding out, but maybe once something in the code is unlocked, a secret room would be revealed? Rather like the upstairs of Super Mario 64 is inaccessible until you unlock the upstairs door.

    What I find strange is the cyan egg being a fake egg, but the green one being real. Afterall, the cyan egg actually got its own "room" so to speak, hidden behind the X Barrel, where as the green one was just shoved on top of a toilet. How legit was that interview with the employee concerning that? Also I doubt the ice key would be used on the chests near Blackeye (at least the ones used in the final game) or that tower door. The key is huge, and neither of them really have a keyhole to satisfy a massive ice key. (On a side note:The ice chest in BT is ideal, but it still surprises me it never worked like an actual key and just slides into a slot sideways. You'd expect a fanfare and a bit more hype when collecting the mega glowbo..but they really underplay it!). I always thought the X on map in RBB was very interesting. There was totally thought put into all this, and it surprises me the kept the TTC AND Sharkfood Island portraits in Banjo Tooie. I agree though, this is probably the closest theory so far.

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  6 лет назад

      Ben Rai hi, thanks for the comment. Completely agree with the fake egg thing. It’s a very odd theory. I’m convinced there was more use to the ice key in DK than BT. There’s a cutscene I didn’t include in this video that’s still in the game where the camera cuts to where the BK fridge was in DK’s house, and then it cuts to the crystal caves ice area. Very strange

  • @Mike-iz6li
    @Mike-iz6li 7 лет назад +1

    Here is a video of the cutscene from entering the refrigerator in donkey kong house (4:51). ruclips.net/video/kOAATfDXfuY/видео.html . Even if the refrigerator has been removed, the cutscene is still in the game.
    I think if you have the ice key in BJ, you would have open the refrigerator and will be warped to a ''secret room'' in crystal cave to obtain something. In a interview with the rareware devolopers, they said that stop and swop came as an idea to reward people for playing rare games. So how more rare games you play, how more rewards you will get.

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, great vid! I have seen it before. Actually wanted to make a part 2 to this video based on that cutscene. It further proves the ice key in DK. Only question with it is now what was supposed to be in that DK Ice room...since the ice key is already in BK. Very interesting

    I wonder, had anyone found the cyan egg on their own on the 360 version? I couldn't. I assumed, each egg had a pattern of being in one world only and went on the longest Easter egg hunt for just the cyan egg! I found all of them except this one! I gave up, and took an internet hint. I'm thinking, without hacking the game, no one would have been able to find this specific egg in a normal way with the process of elimination. What I mean, is that the discovery of the cheat codes via hack by Ice Mario & Alan would have been the only way to know where this egg was since the camera in game wouldn't reveal this angle to the secret location. Only pure luck or painstakingly inspecting everything would have been the only way to find this without a forced hack.
    This all reminds me of Kayne Quest ascension with the code inputs.

    Question. In the Xbox 360 version of BK, entering the cheats too many times would delete all your save data. That doesn't happen in the N64 version, does it?

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  5 лет назад

      Nick B If you’re talking about regular cheats, yes Grunty deletes your game in the N64 version. But Stop n Swop doesn’t count towards that “deletion”

    • @blackheartzerotheundergrou3225

      There are certain codes that'll trigger Code Vengeance (mainly codes to get rid of progression blockers and stuff like that.)
      With the Stop 'n' Swop codes, they're just an egg hunt- they're not needed to progress in the game in any way, so they're safe.

    • @ShadwSonic
      @ShadwSonic 3 года назад

      An addendum: In N64, the Egg codes were NOT part of the "banned" list, but in 360 they are. This is because the intended method of activating them is now simply having a Tooie or N&B save file, and thus the old codes would've messed things up.

    What if someone paid a retired rare employee to make a banjo tooie n64 game with the original stop n swap intentions and then use it on an original n64, it technically would work just could possibly break the system but who would really care

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  5 лет назад

      MrNugget lol I think the idea was scrapped well into the development. My only issue is surely you’d think in Banjo Kazooie there’d be some dialogue for when you did swop (nothing found through hacks)

    • @mrnugget1383
      @mrnugget1383 5 лет назад

      Me personally I believe we kinda got everything for stop n swop except for the bottle revenge mode, the only thing i wish we could have were the extra level with the ice key and the dk64 connection. Also the dialogue and cutscenes would’ve been great, but my only question is if banjo kazooie was fully intended for stop n swop why isn’t there some way to get to where u were suppose to go to do the swopping, seems like the game would’ve had to have somewhere to go or else the whole thing would’ve been a complete failure.

    • @mrnugget1383
      @mrnugget1383 5 лет назад +1

      And also responding to what u said, what If there’s a way in kazooie to get some dialogue over near the 2 transformation machines sense that is where the swapping would happen, there has to be some dialogue somewhere 🧐. I hope one day this mystery gets solved somehow or maybe a rare employee will leak an original copy of bk and then we all could play an emulator

    • @Gamerbielz
      @Gamerbielz  5 лет назад

      MrNugget yes that is exactly what I mean! You’d think someone would have found that dialogue. Unless maybe they had enough time
      To take that out before the release

    • @mrnugget1383
      @mrnugget1383 5 лет назад

      Sorry, I breezed right over the ice key. It is used to open the door in Banjo Kazooie. When you go through the warp pot, it sparkles blue and pauses before you warp. If you look at the Stop 'n Swop screen, the key will be gone. If you warp back through the pot, the door closes and you'll have no way to reopen it. That wasn't intentional, just a programming mistake that wasn't caught in testing. I found this from the interview, so basically if u have the items and go through then pot then the door should be open but there was a glitch that made it only happen once so maybe there is a way to get everything before u use the pot the first time or something

    You missed one thing, but I think it's not really important: In Nuts and Bolts Bottles tells you secrets after you gave him a certain ammount of notes. However, there is a secret named "Stop & Swop Truth" which requires 6000 notes, although there are no 6000 notes in the entire game, meaning it may be just a placeholder and it's pointless. Hackers found a way to increase the maximum ammount of notes making it possible to get the last secret secret. Well, no. After you pay Bottles 6000 notes, he will tell you (something like) "I could tell you, but I would have to kill you and we can not show it in a game with this rating. Get it out of your mind have and have happy thoughts. Thanks for the notes."

    PLOT TWIST: all the “mystery eggs” were actually stolen from banjo and Kazooie by Gruntilda because of their Extreme worth and what they deliver to the keeper of them. Why are they so RARE? Because they’re eggs that were laid by Kazooie after Banjo and her bred together. Banjo and Kazooie were just regular animals(along with tootie) but Gruntilda casted spells on all of them to have intelligence and to feel love. Why why why would Grunty do this!? Well, legend has it that in order to achieve eternal life and beauty; you need Seed from a bear to be bred into a bird and in turn will give you the magical eggs that you need to do the final spell; it takes 7 days to do the spell, adding 1 egg a day to the brew and if you do it correctly it will grant you eternal life. Now I know what you’re going to say; “well there’s only 6 eggs!” Yeah I know! God rested on the seventh day after the earth was created and this is when the key comes in... first of all, the key isn’t made of ice, it barely exists and in order for it to remain present in our universe IT NEEDS TO STAY COLD, otherwise it will vanish. This is why Gruntilda was keeping it hidden in caves, caverns and ice igloos. So, what do you do with the key? Well, at the end of the 6th day around midnight you throw the key into the brew and after this happens(if done CORRECTLY) the mix will dissipate into smoke which MUST BE INHALED BY WHOEVER IS PREPARING, ALL OF IT... and if you do this you will go into a “deep sleep” for 24 hours exactly. I suppose you could call it a trip, a trance or you could just say you die in the sleep but some people say when you go into this “sleep” you’re meeting with God to give him the the final ingredient which was the key... now, no one knows what God would want with a key but some say it’s a soul but who’s soul?... some say its Gruntildas soul which is why she was able to live under a rock for so long; because banjo kept it safe in a hidden cave where it was safe from heat? That’s one of the theory’s or maybe it was a soul of 2, maybe banjos and Kazooies soul in one? No one really knows. I also forgot about Tootie and how Grunty used her to become sexy af. Well like I said, Grunty needed another bear to use for her beauty and with human intelligence and a bear as one together, Grunty was able to transfer inner beauty in Tootie into OUTER beauty in Grunty using her machine which is why Tootie turned back into a regular fat bear. Well there you have it. Hope I didn’t forget anything
