- Hi guys! In today's video you will see how easy is it to use Cricut's print then cut feature to make labels. I use it today to make some labels for strawberry jam. I also use this feature a lot to make stickers, file labels, product tags and lots more. Be creative and have fun using your machine there is so much you can do with it!
I used the following items in today's video:

White Sticker Paper: amzn.to/2UNbni3
HP Officejet 6962 Printer: amzn.to/3e6cykn

I need to make labels for my Honey Jars, and this looks like the solution. Now if I can just get my daughter to let me borrow her Cricut...
This is great tutorial
Thank you so much!!
I really want to get one of these machines. I think my labels for my lipgloss would look a lot better using this. Thanks for the great video.
Ooh yes I made some chapstick labels and love them. 🙌🏻
This was great! Thank you. What if you need to create rectangular labels on cardstock that is a particular color? Would you make the rectangle also transparent? If so, how would the circuit cut out the shape? Would I need a rectangular outline around the text? Hope this question makes sense.
Hi! If you want to cut out a rectangular shape the process would be to create a rectangular around the text or image, then select both the rectangle and text, then select flatten. Then Cricut will cut out the rectangle shape after it reads the registration marks on your print out. Hope that helps!
Amazing!
Thanks so much!
@@AppalachianHomeCo you're welcome ☺️
This was extremely helpful! Thank you so much. How did you make your soap labels? Did you print and cut those as well?
Hi! So glad this was helpful. Yes you can print then cut labels like for soap as well especially if you have irregular shaped labels. For straight rectangular cuts tho you may save paper by just printing and cutting with a paper cutter.
Thank you! I've been trying to figure this out and was about to throw in the towel when I stumbled onto your video. So helpful and easy to follow. Thank You!
Hi that's great I'm so glad this helped!!😊
thank you thank you !!!
You’re welcome!!!
Thank you
Hi Christy! I decided 15 minutes ago that I need my own Cricut. I hopped on youtube, and you were the first video that popped up. Your videos are great!! My daughter and I have a tiny business that has grown into a small business, and we need to make our own labels for candles, bath salts, etc. Asking my friends mom to make the labels is just too much hassle now. Which Cricut should I buy is my main project is product labels? Thanks!!!
*if* my main project is label printing
Hi! So glad you found my channel thank you!! If you are only cutting labels then the Explore Air 2 would be great if you’re looking for less expensive. It will cut stickers on the vinyl setting . . you might have to test cut on your label paper to make sure that’s the right setting for you.👍🏼
Haiii!
Thanks you so much for your explications, much of my question are fullfiled but how do you print your label in color?
Ink color ?
What is the Brown kraft paper for, we dont see it in vidéo 😮
great video. very helpful. I do have question...when I do my print in cut for stickers or anything else, like making magnets, I get white lines around my stickers...mostly just on one side. Can you help with that? any advice? Not sure how to upload a photo so I can show you.
Hi thank you! Yes it sound like you need to calibrate your machine. You go into Design Space, in the top left menu beside “home” and go to “calibration”. Then select print then cut, and follow the steps. It will align your machine to cut the designs much better.👍🏻
What was that banging at :45?! I thought someone was breaking into my bedroom. 😂
Lol! Probably I have some kiddos!😂
Thank you so much for this video!! I couldn't figure it out. Def needed this. I do have a question. When it prints the font has a red bleed on it. Do you know how to keep this from happening? Thank you!!
Hi! I’m so glad this was helpful! Check to make sure the “bleed” is turned off in the menu just before you print, it looks wonky when that is on. Bleed is useful when you are cutting images but not when you have text sometimes. Hope that helps!
@@AppalachianHomeCo how do you turn the bleed off?
Thank you so much for this, I already have the coloured sticker paper, how do you remove the colour or background of the circle?
Hi! I just made the background white, that way it won't print any color.
How did you do the white simple labels? Did you have to put a white box around each one so that the Cricut would cut a rectangle shape? I like that there’s no line showing. Thank you for your helpful video!!
Yes, exactly. You can just draw a white rectangle and flatten the design to the rectangle.
these are so cute. I am new to this. Can you tell me where you got the vine image from and how to upload it? Where is the best place to find these images?
Hi thank you so much! I drew the vines on IPad they are available for free download on my website theappalachianhome.com/freeprintables . . Just scroll down to them! If I don’t draw my own designs I like Etsy for cute SVGs 👍🏻Just clock on the download button on my site and save it to your computer. You can upload it directly to design space by opening a new project, hitting upload, and select the file. I usually save my images as complex, then save as print then cut. Hope that helps!
Do I have to change the setting on my printer for the paper for it to print on the sticker paper?
Hi! Depending on which kind of paper i am using, I use a regular plain paper setting for plain sticker paper, and a matte photo setting for weatherproof matte sticker paper, then the glossy photo setting for glossy sticker paper.👍🏻
Hey Christy! I have a question when I’m uploading to my Cricut from my photo library the image usually is black and I can’t see it or it uploads as print then cut. I am wanting to just cut the image can u explain to me how I do that or show a video...I find that your videos are really helpful..also when I get an image online in google images it does the same thing. Thank you so much for your videos they help me out a lot with my Cricut
Sure! I have gotten some questions about that. The way I usually do it is to save the image to my computer (PNG if possible) and upload to Cricut. You can remove the back ground parts with the erase tool in design space when you are uploading it. There are lots of ways to upload images I will do a video on it for you I will try and film tomorrow. 👍🏻
Christy Cain - The Appalachian Home ok ty so much bc every time I try to upload one it is black I can’t see the image at all in the cut save
Im thinking about purchasing a cricut but a lil intimidated..lol Can I make labels like you did if I buy a cricut air explorer 2? And what are the pens/markers for?
Hi! I was very intimidated when I first got my machine too.😊 Yes the Explore Air 2 can make labels as well and I use the pens and markers to write in cards, and also you can use in fusible ink markers to draw on laser copy paper and then iron on that design to T-shirt’s or towels and things like that.👍🏻
How do you get it to cut inside the sticker without the white on the outside
I was watching your video and this super great but do you have to have a cricut subscription to make these labels? I just bought the cricut explorer 3 and I don't see how to do this.
Hi! Yes I do subscribe to Cricut Access every month but you shouldn't need it to make custom designs like this...there is a fee to use Cricut fonts, but if you have your own font it shouldn't cost extra.
@@AppalachianHomeCo Hi Christy...Thank you so much for replying! I did find a font that was free but in my design space i don't see the option to print my project on a printer prior to cutting the circles on the cricut. Is this something I am missing?
I'm just learning about Cricut and want to get one. What Cricut do you have in this video? What do you recommend?
I think this video had the Maker which I love because you can cut thicker materials than the Explore Series. If you just plan to work with vinyl and thinner materials tho, the Explore is great.
Can you print the labels in Canva and then cut them with cricut?
Hello. What if I have a different background color from the front, how do I print it ? I have a gold logo but want a purple sticker with gold lettering
How do you actually print your project labels on your printer. I cannot find the print icon to connect to print before going to be cut on the Cricut
Hi. You will be prompted to print your project before Cricut actually cuts. Go ahead and go to Make It and you will see the Send to Printer button near the top left, click that and then you can select your printer and preferences, choose to turn off or on bleed, and use printer dialogue which lets you change other print preferences before you print. Hope that helps!
Okay but what about like glossy stickers. How does that work with printing will the ink smear? Do you have to have a specific printer? Also do you have an idea of what kind of sticker paper I might need
Hi! I use a Canon Pixma Megatank and haven't had any issues with smearing on glossy paper, just let it dry for about 20 mins before you touch or cut. I like Naeto labels Glossy sticker paper the best, but Online Labels also has great quality sticker paper. Available in glossy, clear, regular, and weatherproof,.
Amazing video but i have problem. My cricut maker cut only the border of the rectangular not the circles. What I have made wrong? Thank you :)
Hi! Make sure your entire image is set to print then cut. Make sure your circle is set to basic cut. Then flatten the image to your circle. Hope that helps!
Does the cricut print the labels as well or will I need a printer also? Thanks
Hi! You will need a regular printer to print the images first.
Can the cricut cut textured paper?. Struggling to printing labels straight with one overlapping the other.... 😢
Hi, do you think that an HP laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw laser printer CF145A would work for this job?
Hi! Ooh I would love a color laser printer....it should work great for the labels.
Is it true you can only use the print and cut feature if the labels are printed from an inkjet?
🤔 I’m not really sure I have always used an inkjet for printing images but I do have a laser printer I’ll try it and see.👍🏻
When you print on your printer then cut on cricut, how do you align it perfectly? Ty
Hi! The printer actually prints out registration marks that are read by the Cricut machine, that allow the machine to cut the design perfectly.
Hi! I have a question, how do I get it to change to print and cut??
Hi! There are two ways, one is when you upload a png or jpeg save it as print then cut instead of cut. The other is to change it on the canvas, up at the top menu there will be a box beside of color choice box that should say “no fill” or “ print”. Select that box and change it to Print for print then cut.👍🏻
Does it matter what kind of printer you need for this project--inkjet or laser?
No it doesn't matter I have used both.
What settings do you use for the kids cut?
Hi! I use removeable Sticker Paper, Removable under Cricut materials.
Just wondering, what computer did you use this program on? I just bought a cricut and found out it is not compatible with my chromebook laptop
Hi. I mainly use an HP Envy, and sometimes an iPad with mine.
Hi is this possible on the app? I’m trying to find the fill option on my iPad design space and can’t find it. Ty
Hi I think some of the features are not available on the app.
Is that the printer ink that made them brown?
I want to make wine bottle labels do I NEED a printer and cricut or one or the other ?? I ha w limited
Hi. I would definitely say you need a printer to print. You don’t necessarily have to have a cutting machine if you purchase labels that are precut and presized, like from Online Labels or Neato labels. Just type in wine bottle labels and they should come up. Or you can print the labels and cut with a paper trimmer or even scissors. Hope that helps!
How would I make these out of vinyl instead of print and cut stickers?
Hi! You could design a round vinyl decal with the letters cut out instead of printing them if that makes sense?
