As a newbie, 50 years too late to woodwork. Great information on your channel, I live in Northern Ireland, and we don't have the major stores here that you have in the us so alot of products are unavailable to purchase. Products differ dramatically in the UK versus the US market. I have purchased products from the US because the quality is better but damn expensive after you add shipping and taxes. Keep up the good work😊
I have a couple of subs in Europe and I’ve heard the same from them. Sorry you can’t get the stuff we have access to. It’s definitely a blessing being able to run to one of many places to grab material Thanks for watching 🤟🏼
You’re welcome… Everyone needs to save some money occasionally and I try to promote products that are quality made but less expensive than the namebrand. Good luck on your woodworking journey
I always buy from Amazon, from the comfort of my home, and prime delivers normally the next day. The good thing about Amazon is, they accept returns without any issues at all, if you have prime, they collect and no postage to pay. AWESOME!!
I buy from Amazon BUT I like my local Woodcraft store too. I will pay a premium price at my local Woodcraft because I want to support local people and businesses, and want them there when I need a part or tool NOW.
I do as well. I’m a regular at my local rockler store so this was no dig on the specialty stores… just offering those on a budget some quality options 🤟🏼🤟🏼
I found the pocket screws on Amazon a while back and I won't by the name brands screws anymore. They work great. Thanks for the other ideas, I had been looking at the Powertec dust collection accessories for a while, now I feel better about buying them once I get my new workbench built and have a more permanent home for my tools.
You won’t be disappointed in the desk collection stuff… It does exactly what it’s supposed to do at a very affordable price. I appreciate you watching and thank you so much for the comments and feedback
Nice to know about the Power Tech stuff. I have a "no name" dust collector and it works just fine. I bought it over 20 years ago and move it from tool to tool. Thank you for this video.
I personally buy the orange casters and T-tracks and can vouch they are just as good as big name brands. Powertec has some great tools for woodworkers on a budget!
Thank you for your advice. I've hated T-track for the simple reason that you pay a lot for only 1 piece that's not that long and you need more than what they offer. I'm saving this video for later just for the amazon list. Also, you have a new subscriber. I'm still building my channel. I have a machinist square and I can say that you are absolutely right. It's perfect enough for wood working and I use it mainly to make sure my tools are square. The only thing I think I would add to your list is 1-2-3 blocks. Also very helpful. Thank you again and God bless.
Hey I really appreciate all of the support and the comments. I have a list of items that will be on the next videos that I do in this series so the blocks will be added. What is your channel name? I’d love to subscribe back
I used thise casters on my new laser engraving table, very good, also purchased the pocket hole screws (blue), great deal. I have an extremely similar stainless steel engineer square that arrived in a nice cardboard box wrapped in wax paper with a light coating of some type of rust inhibitor for $6.49. like yours it was dead on and i use it a lot. I also have the 4 to 2 power tech reducer ( i only have a shoo vac) Nice video, thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
There are some things worth saving money on and the caster set is a go to for me. The dust collection from Powertec is absolutely a great product ! Thank you for watching and thanks for commenting!
Yeah I must’ve gone through five or six boxes of those so far and not one single problem. Also, they come with a driver which is nice… Especially if you like me and things sometimes get misplaced 😂🤟🏼
Exactly… People who are on a budget with their woodworking hobby can use those extra few bucks. I put my extra money towards the outrageous cost of lumber now 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Thanks for the pocket hole screw tip, I've looked at them on Amazon but haven't purchased any yet. I would thank you for all the tips but about a year ago i figured out Powertech dust stuff and T track stuff on my own. It's crazy how the fancy wood stores hike prices on near identical items
You’ll like those screws and you will never know the difference (other than price) and I agree… many items are marked up and no better quality than the less expensive options.
I just bought casters at Amazon for a shockingly low price. (I think it was about $40 for 4 wheels.) Great quality rated for 2000 lbs. Perfect for my printer stand.
Yep. Agree completely. That will be a video coming soon. I understand that there are a ton of things that most experienced woodworker would never even look atthere… But some of your basics?? Save some money and get into a Harbor Freight store 🤟🏼🤟🏼
@@NuKraftWorkshop It's also a great place to pad out your clamp collection. I wouldn't recommend your most used clamps there, but for those massive glue-ups where quantity is more important than quality, they are totally worth it. I especially like the 6" and 12" F-style clamps. The spines on the longer ones bend too easily, but the shorter ones don't have that problem.
@cottrelr that is correct… Their longer ones tend to flex and that’s not good 😳. But if you’re on a budget it’s the place to go because we all know that it woodworking shop can never have enough clamps 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Their heavy duty nitrile gloves are great especially when you need the XXL size. It’s the only place to buy extension cords, especially the 10 gauge. I’ve found the 25’ with the triple, lighted ends especially useful. I’m told their band saw blades are worth a look.
They do… There are certain things that I just won’t waste money on just to have a brand-name in my shop. The t~track will definitely meet your expectations
So far, except for the big tools like table saw, 14" drill press, etc that Ibought on fb marketplace, I've bought most of the rest of my tools on Amazon. To me, a square is a square is a square. I've got Framing squares, combination squares and speed squares so I've just never seen the need for one of those little squares. I probably should get a pocket screw jig some day but so far rabbets and mortises and tenons seem to have worked well enough. Have never bought T track...never seen it till now for that matter except on some modern contractor saw (Mine is too old to have it). I did get casters for my mini lathe table, but I think I got them from Lowes if I remember right. They're all the same size, but the two that lock have a different finish than the two that don't....but it was cheaper that way, lol. I'm looking at Amazon now and 20' of 4" hose from Powertec is $52.99, but 20' of the same hose from WEN is $38.67 so I'll have to give the powertec hose a hard pass.
Not that this is ALWAYS the case, but some of the stuff without a name brand is manufactured in the same facilities as the ones that have the name brand on them 🤟🏼
Someone else mentioned that as well. Never bought any from them but the ones on Amazon are always spot on and no issues at all. You should give them a try… Promise you will like them.
I mainly use it for squaring cabinets and drawers and unfortunately that’s all that I said in the video but yes… it has a multitude of uses and I’ll bring that up in a future video. Thanks for the comment and suggestion 🤟🏼🤟🏼
I get it and I totally understand. Powertec is headquartered in the United States… The engineering square, not so much 😂. a lot of the people who watch my channel are beginners and on a limited budget. I’m trying to point out some items they can buy for a cheaper cost while maintaining some quality they will need to build decent projects
The one I received is spot on… and for what I use it for, I can’t justify spending more than I did. Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate your comments… They really help 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for this video. I was wondering about those pocket hole screws, good to know! Also I can confirm that those castors are fantastic, I’ve used them on a couple of projects. Fun Fact: Harbor Freight has the best prices for clamps of all sizes. The prices can’t be beat at the big box stores or Amazon, and the quality is great. New subscriber, thank you!
Thanks for watching and I really appreciate your comment. Nothing helps more than the thumbs up and comments. I’ll be doing a video soon on five things to buy at Harbor freight so stay tuned 🤟🏼🤟🏼
I live outside a small Nebraska town, pop 154, and use Amazon. I needed a belt for my Dodge Ram pickup and at the parts house 8 miles away they could order it for $80 and Amazon delivered it to my door for $40! The EXACT SAME belt 1/2 the price!
I agree completely… I hear the people‘s argument about supporting local businesses and buying from what they feel are mom and Pop shops. But they lose me when they include places like woodcraft and rockler. Those are national chains and very few of their products are made here in the US.If I can get something that serves its purpose, isn’t cheaply made and saved me 25 to 50%… Not to mention the fact that they bring it to my door… I’m all over that
Yep… There are certain things that I will only buy namebrand, others aren’t important to me. I only have one purchase with them that I disliked and returned… a quick release hose connecting kit for my shop vac to connect to my hand tools
They do and I have purchased from them more than a few times. Avoid certain things from them like clamps though… not worth saving money on as they will bend and flex Thanks for watching and I appreciate you commenting 🤟🏼
I've had the head snap off of those Lionmax pocket hole screws when using an impact driver, which is a problem I didn't have with Kreg. But they do seem to work fine when driving with a drill at a reduced torque setting. Which I probably should have been doing in the first place anyway.
That definitely isn’t fun and sorry you had that happen. I use my impact driver and have had zero problems. I always do my best to bottom them out without over torquing. Thank you for watching and we appreciate you commenting. It really helps out👍🏼
Delta Cruzer. Dust collection is ok. Not bad out of the box but there are after market accessories available that help. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟🏼 amzn.to/45lXnPr
Got it… apologize I didn’t catch the first message but I understand and agree. Traffic or have it brought to the house? Not a tough decision for me 👍🏼👍🏼
Sometimes I go Amazon and there are a few casters, drawer slides, and hardware I have bought and would buy again. Sometimes I go in to Rockler with 20% off coupons I get monthly. Rockler online is good too but I’m bias because it is 12 hour shipping only 40 minutes away from headquarters. 3M, Park Tools, RZ Mask, TSO Products, and Westling Machining I am more loyal because they are in Minnesota.
Totally agree… I just purchased my new Kreg pro 720 at rockler because it was on sale there. But the slides on Amazon are great and I love my RZ mask. Thanks for watching and commenting🤟🏼🤟🏼
Your hose comparison was not right. The Rockler hose you showed was a compression-type hose which is definitely more expensive than regular flex hose. One thing I discovered is that if you buy those offset hose clamps for flex hose, there is a difference between a right-handed and left-handed spiral. I bought a compression hose from Rockler but bought some cheap offset clamps somewhere else. They didn't fit. I tried them on an old flex hose I had and it worked. I bought the Rockler offset clamps and they worked on the Rockler hose. You can certainly understand Rockler wanting you to buy Rockler products all the way, it's business. For the most part, mixing products is not a problem, as you pointed out with the t-track accessories, but in this particular case, i.e. hose and hose clamp, it mattered. I have bought a number of Powertec products on Amazon and have always been happy. I got an Incra V27 miter gauge and bought a Powertec t-track fence to go with it. Works great!
I really appreciate the detailed comment and although I understand the differences between the hoses, for your beginner woodworker or someone growing their shop and starting with a basic dust collection system, flex hose is flex hose. Rockler makes some great stuff and I have tons of their products but there are certain things I just can’t spend my money on. And yes you have to be careful when mixing products. I started with powertec for my fittings and hoses so I will definitely stick with them when I decide to run permanent to workstations
@@NuKraftWorkshop totally agree about the beginner. You get what you can afford. I've done it. I got the compression hose after buying Rockler's Dust Right 750 mobile dust collector. The regular flex hose I had was a huge hassle trying to store in the lower bin so I bit the bullet and got a piece of compression hose and wow, what a world of difference. That's how I discovered the difference in the spiral of the hoses. I tried to use the clamps I was already using and had a devil of a time trying to make it work. I kept telling myself, it shouldn't matter which direction the spiral goes, just turn the clamp around. Nope. The compression flex hose is really nice when managing the storage of the hose. Once you pull out a normal flex hose, you're stuck with that length and it's like wrestling a Boa. When going tool to tool, a compression hose can be a time saver as well as a sanity saver.
It’s from Home Depot and unfortunately, I can’t find them any longer. I’ve had for a few years and the newer ones they stock are different and more bulky. These were perfect and I regret not buying a bunch of them when they had them 😞
Careful. There is a lot of China and India beeswax that is not pure beeswax. Some I don't think even has any beeswax. No beeswax should have a chemical smell to it. The only way you know you're getting pure beeswax is to buy American.
I don’t buy any of my finishes from them. I have a woodcraft and a rockler nearby which I know in getting legit stuff from!! Thanks for letting me know
I really appreciate it and you’re welcome. There’s a ton of value on certain things on Amazon and there are other things I would not purchase there. 🤟🏼
They came from Home Depot but unfortunately they don’t have them anymore… I’ve had them for a couple years. I wish I would’ve bought more because they’re the perfect size 😐
I have and mine is square… that being said, I only use the outside. Creature of habit 😂. I’m sure the quality control isn’t top notch but I had great luck with mine. Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback 🤟🏼🤟🏼
I was appalled at the price of T-Nuts at the blue store or the orange store: A package of two 1/4-20 for 1.38 when I can buy a package of 50 for 7.48 thru Amazon.
If you Google Amazon affiliates program it will pop right up… There are a few requirements you have to meet but they are pretty simple and I got a response immediately that I was approved. If you have a business, a website and a social media presence you should be OK. Good luck to you 👍🏼
Now now now… I don’t believe I said that. However, if there’s a cheaper and better way to do something, why not do it? Thanks for watching I truly appreciate it !!
When I first started buying shop items I was worried that Powertec must me substandard because there was such a price difference. Nope. Quality stuff at realistic cost.
I agree… But be aware, not all of their offerings are worth the savings. I use a ton of their stuff for dust collection and I have had great luck with theirTTrack. I haven’t used any of their other products so if you have, let me know here in the comments or better yet, head over to my Instagram and message me or send me some pics 🤟🏼
Saving $2 isn’t worth it to me when I can drive to my local Rockler or Woodcraft store, enjoy a nice helpful conversation with fellow woodworking enthusiasts, perhaps pick up an idea or two I haven’t thought about or take advantage of other great sale items. Seldom do I ever shop on Amazon. They could not care less about me or my hobby. Shopping local is the best thing for my community.
Good for you I would rather save the few bucks and have it delivered right to my front door. FYI I save way more than $2 from buying things at Amazon as opposed to Rockler or Woodcraft!
I get that part of it and agree with it also… but there are tons of people who are getting into this craft where a couple bucks here and a couple bucks there makes a huge difference to them
I have both within 15 minutes and I spend a ton of money with them…. There’s just certain things I refuse to pay for just because they have a brand name attached to them. Glad you guys watched my video and I appreciate all the comments 🤟🏼🤟🏼
There are so many other brands of woodworking tools, especially measuring tools, available on amazon that are ABSOLITELY just as good as WPs that its stupid not to buy them. I build furniture for a large midwestern retailer and I know way too many people that spend literally 1000s of dollars on just measuring and layout tools. Its rediculous. My i Gaging squares and my alternate brand of pocket rulers line up exactly to other guy's WP tools.
Partially agree…. You need both. Perfectly surfaced material is necessary for a quality finish but the tool has to perform also. A subpar tool on a quality piece of lumber still gives you subpar results. Appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!
If you are comparing Us made goods with goods made in China The Chinese goods will always be cheaper because the Chinese company can operate from a lower cost base Lower cost base cost of Labour ,land ,energy Lower enviromental standards
Of course they will be… That’s the case with anything we consume in the US. The purpose of my video was to help people like myself who don’t have money to spend on tools like woodpeckers and festool but still enjoy products that are of a good quality
Powertec is US headquartered and manufactures most products here. The engineering square and casters probably come from China like 99% of everything we consume here. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Every time you purchase a product… Any product… Anywhere… From any company… Someone benefits. If I can save a buck in the process and pass those savings onto others,I’ll continue to do it 👍🏼👍🏼
Powertec is headquartered in the US and there are other American companies selling there products on there… but sadly, most of everything we consume ( more than likely including the device you watched my video on and the device you created your comment on) comes from china.
With the exception of the track accessories, everything else is made in China. If it is on Amazon and cheap, it is most likely Chinese. We have to stop buying stuff from there simply to save a few bucks!
I run my own business full time and I support US businesses when I can, but the reality is that the overwhelming majority of what you use on a daily basis is manufactured overseas. Sad but true

It really helps out👍🏼
good info, thx
Very welcome
Where are the links on this video, Great video
I appreciate that 🤟🏼. Links are in the description below video… all the way at the bottom. Let me know if you find them !
What brand miter saw is that? How is the dust collection?
Delta Cruzer. Dust collection is ok. Not bad out of the box but there are after market accessories available that help. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟🏼

Sorry, since woodcraft and Rockler are in the city and I do not like traffic, I live south of Houston, I thank you for the tips
Got it… apologize I didn’t catch the first message but I understand and agree. Traffic or have it brought to the house? Not a tough decision for me 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks mate. Always good to save a few quid & after all even if it's only penny's, over time it all adds up. 👍🏴
That it does and with the cost of lumber…I’ll take the saving where I can 👍🏼. Appreciate you watching and thank you for commenting
Thanks, just subscribed
I appreciate that!! Thank you 🤟🏼👍🏼
Sometimes I go Amazon and there are a few casters, drawer slides, and hardware I have bought and would buy again.
Thank you
For sure. Hopefully you can use a few of these products and save your money for some more lumber 🤟🏼🤟🏼
And great user name BTW
Interesting, I will check out. Subscribed!
Thank you for watching and subscribing!! Hope you enjoy our upcoming content 👍🏼
Great tips! Subscribed. Thank you.
I truly appreciate that. Great stuff coming soon !! 🤟🏼
Agreed 👍
I appreciate it 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Some good ideas there, however the box you keep your pocket hole screws in has peeked my interest. Who's is it?
It’s from Home Depot and unfortunately, I can’t find them any longer. I’ve had for a few years and the newer ones they stock are different and more bulky. These were perfect and I regret not buying a bunch of them when they had them 😞
I buy rubber feet, handles , mineral oil, beeswax, and small tools on Amazon to save a lot of money.
There’s a ton of value on certain items and it amazes me that so many people are opposed to recommending things from them 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for letting me know
Thanks for the heads up. Sub'd
I really appreciate it and you’re welcome. There’s a ton of value on certain things on Amazon and there are other things I would not purchase there. 🤟🏼
Where is Powertech stuff made?
A google search I just did shows they are a US based manufacturer of woodworking machines, accessories and replacement parts 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Where did you get the small parts organizer you have in this video?
They came from Home Depot but unfortunately they don’t have them anymore… I’ve had them for a couple years. I wish I would’ve bought more because they’re the perfect size 😐
Test both the inside and outside edges of that square. One may be out - trust me on that.
I have and mine is square… that being said, I only use the outside. Creature of habit 😂. I’m sure the quality control isn’t top notch but I had great luck with mine. Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Those castor wheels would cost me $70 to get them here to New Zealand 😆
Damn… what’s the closest thing you can get to these and what’s the cost?
@@NuKraftWorkshop if I were to buy them at a store here instead of ordering, they would probably be more expensive. It's very expensive here
@manuelsaiz7539 you’re paying a premium for everything to live in such a beautiful place 😂
@NuKraftWorkshop yea pretty much and it is so beautiful here
@manuelsaiz7539 ok enough… I’m sure it is 😂😂😂😂
I was appalled at the price of T-Nuts at the blue store or the orange store: A package of two 1/4-20 for 1.38 when I can buy a package of 50 for 7.48 thru Amazon.
Agree…. Nothing like wasting money on things that are coming from the same factory and marked up because of nothing more than a name brand label 🤟🏼👍🏼
How do you become an Amazon affiliate?
If you Google Amazon affiliates program it will pop right up… There are a few requirements you have to meet but they are pretty simple and I got a response immediately that I was approved. If you have a business, a website and a social media presence you should be OK. Good luck to you 👍🏼
So my speed square is no good any more?!
Now now now… I don’t believe I said that. However, if there’s a cheaper and better way to do something, why not do it? Thanks for watching I truly appreciate it !!
In short of time, I checked the description to find links to products, only to find none. That's a missed opportunity for affiliate income!!!
They are there and working… I just pulled the video up on RUclips and if you scroll to the bottom of the description, there they are 👍🏼
When I first started buying shop items I was worried that Powertec must me substandard because there was such a price difference.
For me,it’s an EIGHTY mile round trip just to Lowe’s HD or Harbor Freight. And closer to a 400 mile round trip to Rockler. Amazon is my FREIND.
Fine line between value for money and supporting an oppressive regime.
As always, add 30% or more if you’re Canadian.
I get it but these deals are too good to pass up … especially for beginners and budget conscious woodworkers
Or Australian 😂
@jongiedraitis854 sorry 🤷🏻♂️
Purchased 4 different engineering squares off Amazon, 3 were out of square…
Sorry to hear that… As you can see in the video, mine is spot on. Lucky???😂😂
i agree & uaually frt free
Thanks for watching and we appreciate your support👍🏼
The tool is only as good as the piece of wood. It’s laying on because if the wood is not straight, the tool is not gonna work correctly.
Partially agree…. You need both. Perfectly surfaced material is necessary for a quality finish but the tool has to perform also. A subpar tool on a quality piece of lumber still gives you subpar results. Appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!
We would rather do without than buy from amazon
That’s a choice you’re allowed to make… others choose differently.
Thanks for watching 🤟🏼🤟🏼
If you are comparing Us made goods with goods made in China The Chinese goods will always be cheaper because the Chinese company can operate from a lower cost base
Lower cost base
cost of Labour ,land ,energy Lower enviromental standards
Of course they will be… That’s the case with anything we consume in the US. The purpose of my video was to help people like myself who don’t have money to spend on tools like woodpeckers and festool but still enjoy products that are of a good quality
Yea, because I need to spend more money! 😡
Hey this stuff is quality and it will actually save you money… I mean if you’re spending money already, why not? 😂😂
Where are all the products you’re shilling made? Where are their companies based?
Powertec is US headquartered and manufactures most products here. The engineering square and casters probably come from China like 99% of everything we consume here. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
And FTR … not “shilling” anything. I am recommending products I use daily and think are worth saving money on 🤟🏼
So how much does Power tech pay you to flog their wares on here anyway ?
Or do you own the company ?
There’s always one… But I still appreciate you watching 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Only
?
Keep making Jeff Bezos the one world evangelist he has proven himself to be.
Every time you purchase a product… Any product… Anywhere… From any company… Someone benefits. If I can save a buck in the process and pass those savings onto others,I’ll continue to do it 👍🏼👍🏼
@@NuKraftWorkshop Enjoy.

AMAZON STUFF COMES FROM CHINA NOT AMERICA,CHINA OWNS THEM!!!!!!
Many of us would buy from the US but you offer no alternatives except to bash China. What are US MBAs doing to counter this? Nothing!
Thanks for the tips👍
You’re very welcome. Hope some of these items can help you out!!
Never heard of Power Tec until now. In the market for some 4” to 2 1/2” adaptors. Guess where I’m heading!
