Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Audrey. I am a preschool teacher. My son also had a lot of toys when he was younger. I would find myself cleaning up with him. It was overwhelming. I eventually ended up donating about 30 bags of toys. I kept the few he did use and rotated them. I bought a bookshelf and labeled about 8 baskets. The idea was to have centers in a basket. I had a books basket with about 6 books. A manipulatives or small toys basket with about 10 toys. An art basket with different types of art materials including PlayDoh cups. A writing basket with a notebook and I rotated different writing materials. A music box with a few musical instruments. In addition, puzzles, gross motor, small blocks or Legos, etc. I hope you get the idea. It worked wonderfully because I taught him to only take out the toys he was going to play with and when they were not being used he had to put them away. I hope this helps.
It is probably a good thing that I am not a mom to little ones (I am 58 and I have no kids of my own but I do have a 24 year old stepson) because all of that chaos and mess would drive me insane. I think that in today's world kids have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF and do not truly appreciate what they have (case in point the fact that they just dump everything all over the room and do not bother to pick up things and put them away when they are done). I know for a fact that my parents would never have allowed me to play this way and my mother would absolutely not have come behind me and cleaned up my mess. But hey ~~ you do you! From someone who has suffered from clinical depression, I am merely saying that this much constant mess and state of confusion would be extremely difficult for me to mentally manage and because of that I am a firm believer in practicing minimalism (i.e., less stuff tends to mean less mess and less clutter).
I love how you decluttered everything and packed away so patiently! I wish I could tell your kids how lucky they are to have a mother like you!!

You are very organized and patient. I would feel overwhelmed with as much stuff as you have, lol! Well, I have 4 children also, so I know what this is like. They are all grown now, so it's been a while since I've had to deal with the toy mess. Except when my 7 grandchildren come over, lol! You seem like a very sweet woman. Keep up the good work! 😊
I clean our playroom in a similar way as you do! When the mess is overwhelming and there are lots of small items, I like to sort into piles before I put everything away. I find this so much easier (and less time!) rather than getting up and down repeatedly and going back and forth to put everything away. Thanks for today's cleaning and decluttering motivation. I always enjoy watching your videos ❤

Oh boy.. and I thought my playroom was bad 😂 have you ever tried a toy rotation? Keeping the bins in the garage so they are out of side and swapping things out every couple months does wonders!
Frequent mover here! Best tip I can give you is to write what's in the box on the side and not the top. That way you can see what's in the stacked boxes without having to take them all down to see what's on the top 😊
I was writing it on the top and side, because if things are stacked at all I want to see what it is from the top too 😆

Girl I absolutely love your videos because of how real they are. It's so satisfying! Especially this one bc there is such a big clean out with stuff packed away. Don't worry about anyone saying you have too much or any of these negative comments. This video is really inspiring to me and you are doing a great job keeping up with all you have on you. I always went through all the little pieces as well. My kids would be so excited when they realized all of the pieces to a game were together or I had found all of the Nerf gun darts. I enjoy organizing so it made me feel good to know that everything was in its place.

You are one amazing person and mom. I love how you always make things so positive!❤. I'm on a decluttering journey so watching your videos gives me the inspiration and motivation i need. As you know i raise my 3 grandsons and i have a major back disability which limits me and being widow and 67 things get hard, but i took your suggestions and just going through things as i can. Flat surfaces, closet, drawers, cupboards and it is starting to feel so good! The boys go back to school on the 21st so im really working on things to be ready. Thank you so much! Decluttering is a constant thing. I have been decluttering since February 2021. I just donated some bags about 10 days ago. I already have a stack of donations.
I definitely feel the same!! If I didn't constantly declutter, I can't imagine what my house would look like. I don't even buy very often. I have no idea where it all comes from.

I'm the same way when it comes to organizing all that little stuff. If we dont save those small pieces, we have to get rid of the whole set or game sometimes and that's a waste. Such as puzzles, wooden puzzles, games, etc. A lace for everything and everything in its place. Its only manageable when there's less.
Although I used to love second hand clothes when my kids were little, the T-shirts and leggings you bought are better brand new - especially if it's the same or comparable price to thrifting. Cute clothes.
I love the stuff animals of my daughter...And for 3 kids the amount is pretty regular. It depends on the point of view...

Nice video and you do what you gotta do for your kids.. whatever is functinal to you and family. My daughter doesn't really play with Barbies but i still have them out so whenever she does, even though i could just put them away for now but is really what i want to do just depends 😊

My 3 year old is in 3-4T clothes and my twins are in 24-2T clothes. I found out that it depends on the style of the clothes. It also is like that for adult clothes too like certain shirts and pants I'm in a size two and some I'm in a size 4 and same with shirts I sometimes in a size small and some shirts I'm in a size large it all depends on the style of clothes that's why you always have to go into the dressing-room to get them to try them on same for adults. But with shoes for my kids my three-year-old and my one-year-old son are the same size shoes which is a four and my son's twin sister is a different size and she's a 2. She has smaller feet then her twin brother and her older brother the two boys have wide feet and she does not have wide feet she has thin feet like me.

As much as we would've loved to do a custom build on a large piece of property, it was just WAY more expensive. We decided to build in a developing neighborhood.
