The thing that struck me was how similar his cult lingo was from back then to today. Still using the old "we" rhetorical trick, still laying down the buy in vibes. His consistency would be impressive if it wasn't being used to grift dents.
I can only speculate, but the green and purple t-shirt and the yellow and red t-shirt at around 2:15:00 look very similar to the John Cena shirt and Hulk Hogan colour schemes

Phil already has super powers. A delusional level of self importance, zero self awareness and no shame. His only weakness is intense exposure to reality. When under attack he can activate the dome of denial in the Snort Fort and pull Hogans until he regains his strength.
LOTR and Hitchhiker's guide were formative experiences for my dweeby ass in 7th-8th grade. Especially Hitchhiker's guide affected my sense of humor. Given Phil's sense of humor i have to wonder if he read it, did he even get the jokes? This just convinces me more that Phil suffered some sort of brain damage in his late teens.
I’m also a H2G2 fan, and there’s no way Phil got any of the jokes. I’m certain (if he’s even read it, that is) that he wonders why Earth/E2 doesn’t look the Death Star because he thinks it’s _literally_ a computer like a PC and the whole mouse part flew over his head (and I’m also confident that he’d survive the Total Perspective Vortex no problem lol)
