Exciting, and the intelligent alternative to anything currently from Jeep or Ford in this segment. Future CAFE requirements will eventually (and hopefully) force these vehicles more and more into hybrid powertrains. Turbo 4s are the current "cheat", and it is why all the manufacturers use them. On the EPA cycles, the turbo is not engaged. When buyers buy a turbo they don't drive like the EPA cycle, and get worse mileage, because the power band psychologically makes drivers enjoy pushing the throttle. I'm fine with a Toyota turbo, it is going to be light years more reliable than anything from Ford, GM or Jeep.

Lets be honest its a toyota its going to be more reliable than anything else from any other offroad capable brands. It will be comfortable and capable. They do the best hybrids and some of the best engines. I have faith they will be amazing

Yeah I think you’re right on that. I did see a comment from Toyota saying it will be built in Japan.
