Match #8 was beautiful. If you pay attention, you can "hear" the whispers of the Nago players saying : "I'm going to murder you right here, right now!!!"
One thing that sadly muddies the water is that there's no way to tell if people are playing their mains. Like the GL vs Faust one early, it definitely seemed like the GL knew what to go for but didn't have the execution. Probably got to celestial with their main and then was just trying Goldlewis out for funsies. Still, this was an awesome and fun video and I would definitely watch again in the future!
My hypothesis about the floor 1 players is that they kinda know what to do but consciously have to think about it. Since their mental stack is so overburdened I can imagine them losing to mashing thus dropping floors. The person that picked the replay probably just found two of these players match up?
This was a fun video! For educational content, it might be interesting to go over the common pitfalls of the floor ranges and little things can do to improve. Like Floors 4-6 typically don't have a structured gameplan and mostly are just swinging, whereas 7-8 there is some form of gameplan, but usually not a good one.
The floor system is really good to protect lower skilled players. Once you reach floor 7 I feel the skill gap isn’t huge until celestial. I picked up Strive and was able to get into celestial in about 5-6 days. No other fighting game experience other than DBZ fighters Z and smash ultimate. One thing I noticed in that climb was two different players. Ones who lab combos and can execute them or ppl who spam a certain string that’s tricky to stop. Great video shows how close the skill gap is on the higher floors.
I would like to see more of this. Also in case your chat didn’t already answer, yes you can challenge floors above your assigned floor barring Celestial. The game just gives you a warning that you may encounter strong players hungry for battle before you can proceed. I’ve gone above my assigned floor during times when my assigned floor is empty.
Cool idea with the show concept. Triple beyblade was definitely some high end combo wizardry that almost ko'd me with awe and laughter! Mostly laughter....
Wait, I think Match #4 was one of my matches as I-no: it has my color, my floor level, my failure in dealing with Ky pressure, my failure in using a Roman Cancel...and yes, I always forget that note exists. 😅😅
@@Diaphone I own it because I'm a Millia main with very few hours with I-no, so I have an excuse of all my mistakes :D . But if that match isn't mine, that looks exactly like me, a Millia main, trying to learn I-no: 1- she is "dashing" to try to approach the opponent, instead of stroking or dive-kicking, 2- she did several air-dashes to approach, because that's Millia's default approach, 3- her 2D doesn't connect several times, because Millia's 2D is longer than I-no's , so is misjudging the range, 4- doesn't use note, because Millia doesn't have a "projectile", 5- And the most clear evidence: she's using chemical love to "avoid" ky's projectiles, because that's how you do a Mirazh from Millia.
Yeah, it's wild. In floor 10 I'm usually fighting players way more optimal than that, it was hard to believe. Just goes to show in the end it's also a bit of luck on who you get paired against. I've had some really easy matches in celestial, but I always come across actually amazing players up there that gatekeep me before I get the last win or two.
I think 1 round may be better than 1 match because when it comes to 3 rounds it feels "unnecessary long". This being said it was a lot of fun, I hope you'll do more of this kind of content! Thx for the show !
@@ArkRiley Yes I agree it's harder. But the game is about fun IMO failling isn't so important and bo3 are too long. So I'll go for fun over guess efficiency with a single round. However that's just my opinion and I get your point
I played Goldlewis VS Faust in Celestial and was legit scared when I saw their round start pop up, 'cause this could've been one of our sets. Colors don't match though. I don't remember the dude's nickname but I love playing with hime despite being at a disadvantage with both of my most played characters.
Hey dog just subbed you got a crazy calm voice and demeanor, makes sense you pilot a cranked up to 11 chaotic female considering the whole opposites attract law. Anyways I like the video and I'ma def suffer through I-no PTSD to watch you do your thing!
Man, that Faust vs Goldlewis match turning out to be Celestial made me so sad. Faust didn't even know how to MMM loop in the corner! Guess he's got some skills I don't
(13:45) I think you should pick not a 1 floor guess, but a 2 floor range guess to avoid making the guessing game harder. Because I'm one that easily goes to floor 7 to 8 and and viceversa several times in a week.
Yeah, I think most players tend to float somewhere in a range of three floors. Like I'm on 8-10 myself. And Dia was one floor off on guessing most of these
This has inspired me to try out the Celestial Challenge 😸 Jokes aside, this is a pretty fun watch. It's kind of absurd seeing the kinds of play people make at other ranks. It's like teetering between the edge of genius and insanity (though mostly into insanity)
If the Match #10 players were on Japan servers, they’d be 2 or 3 floors below for sure. 5F players on my region already know how to properly burst, have a few decent mixups and combos, and have the patience to enact supers.
this video honestly makes me feel more confident in playing my first ranked matches lol, did the placement and got floor 6, but I know how to play Baiken at least a decent amount which is better than some of the things I saw in this video
Going from floor 3 to 9 in 2 months made me pretty good at this game haha. You'd be surprised the combos some people crank out at low ranks. Meanwhile on 9 I'm dropping combos and high-lowing for the win
I only got to floor 7 but I feel like the guys I go against are really good. I think the floors got harder since the game came out, so it’s mostly experienced players on any floor above 5
11:19 this May player is giving me inspiration to be a better man, match 8 is tempting me to join the dark side while the Anji clip is just what Strive was meant to be
These from the same servers? Feel like the skill levels differ a lot between servers. JP floor 8 is full of guys that do optimal stuff but they got bad defense/neutral.
Bro, Match #10 was me playing against May. Lost 1 set to her and this is the second set that I played against her. LMAO. That's the skin color set that I used prior to changing to red and blonde.
Somehow level of play varies a lot depending on the time when you play. Getting to floor 5-6 in the evening and then getting slapped by a bunch of floor 3 kiskes to f4 is my daily routine for like a month now. Also I get the feeling that skill floor has got a bunch higher since this video's release, most of those 5f games look like 3f now. (I am new to the fighting games so I may be wrong)
Gonna do my prediction right before Diaphone on the vid, scout's honor I guess! Match 1 Chipp vs Sol: Yeah this is not suuuper low, they understand some concepts, I'm going to guess floor 4. (Actuality: Floor 1?!? Wow.) Match 2 Chipp vs Ram: Trying to learn from the previous match, but there's chaos inherent to the ranking system. I'm still going to be conservative and say floor 3. (Actuality: Floor 4!) Match 3 Goldlewis vs Faust: This kinda looks roughly like my games give or take. So, I'll just guess my own floor: 9. (Actuality: Celestial! Wow, maybe I could reach higher if I got into the grind.) Match 4 I-no vs Ky: This *also* kinda looks roughly like some of my games lol. What can I say, there's give and take in these things! I'll just guess floor 9 again. (actuality: Floor 8. Alright, not bad!) Match 5 May vs Zato: Oh dear, this is a one-sided match where May is going for clip content stuff. This is hard to tell, but I'll guess floor 9 just this one more time. (Actuality: Floor 7.) Match 6 Ky vs Ram: OK this one I have to not let Diaphone bait me. The fundamentals were solid-ish, but the interactions were very short most of the time, and some of those drops feel really obvious. I'm guessing floor 7. (Actuality: Celestial! Wow...) Match 7 Leo vs Sol: Hard to say for me, I've known Leos that played exactly like this on relatively low floors. I'm going to guess floor 8. (Actuality: Floor 9) Match 8 Nago mirror: I have a particularly hard time judging Nago players, but these especially are baffling to me. There are some bizarre pops, but some nice combos, and I just have no idea...I'll say Celestial. This might be the kind of madness that's just sane enough. (Actuality: Floor 7. My bad!)
Back from dinner for the rest: Match 9 Anji vs Ram: Alright this man is trolling for sure, which makes it harder to guess the true level. I'll guess floor 7. (Actuality: Floor 6.) Match 10 May vs Gio: Yeah this one feels like honest loew-level plays. Floor 2 is my guess. (Actuality: Floor 5. Wew lad...)
Watching this 1 year later. I am new to fighting games, and I got to floor 8 pretty quick. Then i started learning new character and dropped to floor 3. I swear floor 3 is sweatier than anyone I have fought in floor 7 or 8. I don't know if these dudes are just throwing matches until they drop to the low floors. Guys are throwing great mixups, seem to know frame data for all my shit and rarely drop combos. I don't get it!
Damn, I started to play two months ago, and the level seems to have raise quite a lot. Beeing curently on floor four, I can assure these guys on the second fight would get obliterated by nearly anybody.
I think both celestiala were obvious. the first faust rc'ed to burst bait which nobody below celestial does, and the second one ram had hit confirming her round start daruo, which people below celestial dont do
I think my favorite matches were at 18:42 and 21:53. What did you guys think of this style of content?

Good idea
Definitely a good farmable format
Match #8 was beautiful. If you pay attention, you can "hear" the whispers of the Nago players saying :
"I'm going to murder you right here, right now!!!"
Fun idea! Not sure how long it could go on, but its different and interesting.
I would love for this to be a series.
🤔
i second this
I third this
Fourth, I'd watch this every time
Definitely, subbed because of this, even better if you throw up a poll for each with every floor.
I'm in celestial and those Floor 1-5 players were throwing out DP and raw supers more consistently than I do 😭
This may be old but I appreciate it a lot.
On the struggle to obtain get gud
When you spin the stick randomly dp and super are the most likely to come out
That Nago mirror was next level, 3 beyblade combos are the new meta.
Do a cmd grab after the third and nobody will see it coming
One thing that sadly muddies the water is that there's no way to tell if people are playing their mains.
Like the GL vs Faust one early, it definitely seemed like the GL knew what to go for but didn't have the execution. Probably got to celestial with their main and then was just trying Goldlewis out for funsies.

True, I would of never said celestial tier, maybe cos my friend is a faust main and I'm too jaded with the mix
the editing on this one is crazy good
Caste getting kinda OP
This was fire. Yeah I want to see more of this. The Anji was a 6P god, May round start Gold burst is just next level mind games.
Inspiring 🤣
That May also RC'd off her super to get the overhead. That match was wild!
My hypothesis about the floor 1 players is that they kinda know what to do but consciously have to think about it. Since their mental stack is so overburdened I can imagine them losing to mashing thus dropping floors. The person that picked the replay probably just found two of these players match up?
I think floor 1 players are mostly trolls, any level of comprehension will get you out of there
Bro that Nago mirror and the Anji. I've been playing the game wrong.
Same
This was excellent dude your editor picked some good clips. Would love to see this become a series.

Like Floors 4-6 typically don't have a structured gameplan and mostly are just swinging, whereas 7-8 there is some form of gameplan, but usually not a good one.
From the 4-6s I’ve fought they just all have an insane jump and air dash habit
I once got eliminated from a friends group tournament to a floor 10 Potemkin who did almost nothing but 24/7 mega fist spam; it's wild out there
I knew without a doubt that Nago mirror was fooor 7 and it’s for one simple reason. That’s how I played Nago when I was on floor 7.
The floor system is really good to protect lower skilled players. Once you reach floor 7 I feel the skill gap isn’t huge until celestial.

Great video shows how close the skill gap is on the higher floors.
I loved this, a ton of fun. You should make this a series
I think it would be cool to have definitive predictions by just having every floor as a prediction option.
Yea... twitch can't do that.. but technically you could do a poll? I'll have to think about that, would be cool
I would like to see more of this.
Also in case your chat didn’t already answer, yes you can challenge floors above your assigned floor barring Celestial. The game just gives you a warning that you may encounter strong players hungry for battle before you can proceed. I’ve gone above my assigned floor during times when my assigned floor is empty.
one bad thing in the floor system is that we do keep our floor when changing from our familiar character to a totally new character.
that nago mirror was the funniest shit I've ever seen
That was quite entertaining Diaphone. A series like this would be welcome. Keep it up and thanks for the content
This was super fun to watch. I've been wanting to see more creative content like this with strive. Awesome video Diaphone!
The triple beyblade killed me
love my cameo in the first 1 second of the video ✨
This video was AMAZING, I love these types of videos. Would love to see more!
nah that leo match was how i used to play i thought it was me
Seeing the point ratio before the outcome makes the video so much better well done to whoever thought of that you deserve a yummy apple pie
how did this make me want to start playing strive again smh. very cool idea diaphone, loved it!

Respect owning up to it. I think if you learned to hitconfirm 2k 2d into note (or stroke on block) you would easily go up a floor
@@Diaphone I own it because I'm a Millia main with very few hours with I-no, so I have an excuse of all my mistakes :D .

What a maneuver at 11:25! That May had me rolling, I gotta steal some of her tech!
bro ain't no way that first match was floor 1, they looked more competent than most of my floor 6 opponents
That Nago match had me crying
That Ky vs Ram I could not believe that was celestial. I play like that Ky and I keep getting gatekept outta celestial. Maybe there’s hope for me yet
Yeah, it's wild. In floor 10 I'm usually fighting players way more optimal than that, it was hard to believe.

This reminds me of Guess the Elo over on Gotham Chess's channel. Same idea. It's a fun format and I think you should keep doing it.
This actually what I based it off of lol. I love that series
I have not watched yet. But i need more of these. Ok?
as someone who has watched the clip. i would like to see more of these as well.
I think 1 round may be better than 1 match because when it comes to 3 rounds it feels "unnecessary long". This being said it was a lot of fun, I hope you'll do more of this kind of content! Thx for the show !

The most cursed thing about this video is the giant "MILPY" sign behind his head. Quite possibly the worst anime bland name product I've seen
how are you in celestial and dont have a dust combo?>?
Feel like I should be good at this considering I climbed from F4 to F9
I am so fucking mad at the celestial clips.
6p is your god
Nago mains sharing one brain cell
You should do a anji ggst experiment vid to see how easy or strong he is I feel like it'd be pretty interesting
He’s very easy and not very strong lol, but it’s always fun to see people pick up and learn Anji
I know to spam 6p now.. so might be too easy
