I bought a new ‘23 pro 4x last year and I am very happy with it. To get the same off road capability in the Tacoma would’ve cost me about 10k more due to trim level/option availability. I was able to find exactly what I really needed with the Frontier.
I got a '23 P4X and love it. They are feature rich, simple but tanky and offer the best price to feature options in the small truck market. Plus you get that naturally aspirated V6 which Nissan has been perfecting for decades.
Stumbled across your vid and channel looking up reviews on the Frontier. I knew immediately from the first few seconds of you driving what state and woods you were in.... your vid is exactly what I was looking for.
LOL I get quite a bit of folks that seem to know where I am in these trails. These trails are pretty close by but would love to find some alternatives for new content in Jersey. Thanks for stopping by!
im just trying to get a truck that has good longevity. i drive a 99 sonoma sl at the moment, and its done its part for the years ive owned it. time for an upgrade and i think this is a good replacement. no turbos to worry about a great truck with some tech.
I have a '23, love the truck; hate that there is still little to none aftermarket support for some items. Example, Bilstein does not offer front 5100s or 6112s for the Gen 3 and they recommend not using the ones for the gen 2 and older. Same with Fox no 2.0 fronts for the Gen 3. To become as good as Toyota, and maybe to actually "scare" them; we need aftermarket support. And Bilstein, when contacted, will not even say why they do not recommend the gen 2 5100s from use on a Gen 3. BS on bilstein. Most likely they would not be offering the 4600s if they had not already made them for the pro-4x model. Yea, we can use spacers for a lift and there are plenty to choose from; however, up to 1.5 in might require a new set of upper control arms to stop any coil bucket contact and for sure you need new UCA if over 1.5 inch of lift from a spacer.
Literally got this truck on Saturday. Brand new ‘23 fully loaded Nissan pro 4x in brown. Literally every feature here was my deal. It was 50.3k (I know I know) before 4k down payment. Got 5 year extended 100k mile warranty. 6 years 90k maintenance Gap For 84 months at 694 (I know I know) But I love the car
I had a base model '22 Frontier crew cab 4x4 for 18 months. Loved it until my F-150 Lightning showed up at the dealer in December '22. Had been thinking about going to a Pro4X but just wanted more room.
My gripes are with the Apple CarPlay is a major pain if you also intend to listen to your Sirius XM while you drive. I’ve put 17,000 miles on this truck in 5 months. Also when the truck shows zero miles to empty the app on your phone will always say 35 miles to empty. Sounds great until you realize now matter how many times you’ve been out of gas, the app will ALWAYS say you can still eke out 35 more miles. And If you love a vehicle that will slam on the brakes before it will let you back into some grass then this is for you lol
I literally just turned in a 2021 TRD Off Road lease (could have bought it; leather, heated seats, sunroof) for a Nissan Pro4X. I admit I was surprised that the Nissan is significantly nicer. Drives much nicer, nicer interior, quieter cabin, great attention to detail, lots of features and tech for the money. The Toyota is likely a little bit better for off road but the Nissan meets my needs for winter 4x4, spring potholes, and the occasional trip to the Off Road park to tool around. I also like the look of the stance of the Toyota slightly better but the Nissan is easier to reach in to the bed and will be easier to load my dirt bike in to after a long day at the motocross track. Leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, 9” screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, sunroof, 360 camera, front camera, side camera, Traffic Sign Recognition (reads the speed limit signs and put it next to the speedometer), dampened tailgate, electronic locking tailgate that locks and unlocks with the doors, cargo bed lights, illuminated door sill, blind spot monitoring, etc etc…and a V6 engine that has a reputation similar to Toyotas. Best audio system I’ve heard in a car…better than the JBL in my Tacoma and better than the Bose in my Camaro SS…it’s a Fender system with a dedicated subwoofer. $47,000. And it leased well because it has a good residual at $36,000. $2,000 down, $559/mo. A similarly equipped 2024 TRD Off Road is over $55,000. Toyota website is saying $6,000 down, $680/mo. for that truck. I’m sure it’s a great truck but I just couldn’t justify the difference.
Frontier is made in the USA and the Tacoma is made in Mexico. The P4X has a fully boxed frame, Dana 44 rear axle, Spicer transfer case, and a better crawl ratio. The Tacoma has none of those things.
The Wilderness trims by subaru are super capable for sure. The lack of low range and lockers are what hurts them. If they could integrate a 4 low option and rear lockers, they would do everything a truck could do. If the could do that plus front lockers, Jeep becomes irrelevant lmfao!
I just bought this truck today. Best bang for the buck out there especially on a lease. Had a 2.5 hour drive home. Love it so far.
Congratulations on your new truck! I bought mine last April and absolutely love it, furthest I’ve drove it was 4 hours away and got 25mpg average
What color did you get? I’m torn between colors

Same with me. I love it.
Good video showcasing the Pro 4x capabilities. It is a great all around truck. Thanks for posting.

I bought the black 23 pro4x with 20k miles and i drove it from San Diego to Virginia and handled everything like a champ. Love this truck
I bought one of the first 2022 Pro4x when they just hit my local dealership. 35k miles and only a few issues.
What issues? I’m picking up my 2023 tomorrow.

Sweet vid.
Love my 23' Pro4X. Got it with all the packages. 👌
Good choice!
Best midsize truck out
Nice video the frontier is good on the rough road and it handle the road with easy no problem the truck is really good with a best driver nice love it

Thank you!
yea, this is like what I would do here in Louisiana and the terrain. No rock climbing or sand dunes.. I am looking at them now to buy one this year.
Good luck with your purchase! It's a great truck to own from what I've heard and I certainly was impressed with my short time with it
1:17 is why midsize trucks are kings, fits anywhere and light weight to not get stuck as much.

Yes I get that completely. If I went with a pickup truck for my personal vehicle, I think I'd need a full size with my kids getting bigger
Just bought mine yesterday 🎉
Hope you enjoy it!
@@MarcsMotors I am so far!! Always wanted a truck and I finally got one fully loaded.
All they need to is drop the price about 4K more AND offer a 6 speed manual and they will kill the Tacoma market
I just bought the exact truck a few days ago. Had $8,000 in dealer markups that we had to contend with though 😂
I bought a '23 PRO-4X a year ago (March 2023)...hands down much better than the overpriced Tacoma.
Yeah I love the Tacoma but you can't beat the value in this Nissan alternative
