This thing is played in E-flat. It's transposed. The sonata is in D Major, not E-flat!

Definitely the latter. Generally, compared to today, instruments were tuned lower in Mozart's day, not higher.

the allegro movement is far too fast, this is up around 150bpm - should be around 120-130 for it to feel more comfortable for me
