You reconnected the vent pipe on the left side of the battery but there is no pipe for the vent hole on the right hand side so should the removed vent plug be reinserted? It now seems to be normal to have to reset the BSM (Battery Management System) after a new battery is fitted, does this not apply to Renaults?
That's a good question. I have seen other Renault videos around the same model year (eg Scenic) where the battery was replaced without maintaining a 12V supply to the vehicle and the first thing the car does when the ignition is turned on is to ask if the battery was replaced or not. This is then confirmed using the right hand stalk up and down buttons, holding one of the buttons to confirm the selection. The car's BMS then knows how to deal with the new battery. I would be cautious about installing a battery and bypassing the BMS like this as it may overcharge the new battery and lead to premature failure or even possibly an explosion.
Thanks for the video, really good you take your time to show and explain! Cheers! 😅👍
You are welcome. Jan

@@m.oskam92Graag gedaan, succes daar.
why you changed the battery? Its young, mine clio is from 2017r and still first battery and i have 1.5 dCi
Bonjour. Je les ai remplacés préventivement.
la fiabilité passe avant tout.
Hello. I replaced them preventively.
reliability comes first.
I heard you need to reset ecu when changing new battery?
I have not reset the ecu, and everything works perfect. Done already a few 1.000 km and no problems at all.
I did it exactly like that but the start stop system doesn't work plz help
How Many volts gives your new battery? Maybe it is too low. Then first charge it.
