I'm a Speech, Language, Voice and Swallow Therapist. I was looking for videos on SOVTE for my article presentation and came accross yours. Thank you very much for explaining in scientific and acoustic terms in the end!

I have been doing voice therapy for years and implementing most of recommendations shown in this video, but I have to say that I love your representation of the whole approach and will be sharing with my clients and students for sure. Very simple and professional, as it should be.

Thank you very much for all the information! When I went to Classical Music School, when I was having Choir lessons, in one hour, we passed fourty five minutes warming our voices and just fifteen minutes of singing! That is to show how important is to warm up your voice! I hear that a person who speaks to much, never could be a good singer!

Thank you, great tutorial! I need to do a lot of voice exercises, which often it is no fun. You bring in the fun and the explanation with the vocal cords helps to see a sense in the exercises :)

If you want to eliminate the spilling during the straw-in-water-exercise you can out the straw into a bottle of water. That way it won't splash as much :)

very nice, SOVT exercises really do help that mixed voice placement and muscle memory, another good one is puffy cheeks, or basically straw singing without the straw, only keeping airflow out a tiny hole in your lips for those without a straw handy lol!

You clearly have a lot fo good info. Your slightly muted miking along with background music makes it hard to hear you easily.

Some really useful info but I found the background music annoying - made it harder to simply listen and take in the info.

'Vocal fry' - an end-croak - became fashionable, and while it's predominantly a female style it sometimes gets requested from male performers. Looking forward to less of it!
