I'm a Speech, Language, Voice and Swallow Therapist. I was looking for videos on SOVTE for my article presentation and came accross yours. Thank you very much for explaining in scientific and acoustic terms in the end!
I have been doing voice therapy for years and implementing most of recommendations shown in this video, but I have to say that I love your representation of the whole approach and will be sharing with my clients and students for sure. Very simple and professional, as it should be.
Thank you very much for all the information! When I went to Classical Music School, when I was having Choir lessons, in one hour, we passed fourty five minutes warming our voices and just fifteen minutes of singing! That is to show how important is to warm up your voice! I hear that a person who speaks to much, never could be a good singer!
Thank you, great tutorial! I need to do a lot of voice exercises, which often it is no fun. You bring in the fun and the explanation with the vocal cords helps to see a sense in the exercises :)
Thanks! I'm so happy this is helpful for you. I'm always aiming to make videos that make singing easier and more fun. :-)
You know what, I think this was my first video of your's that I watched, can't remember how I got here, but then I went onto your reaction videos, now just so hooked on all the fabulous content you're putting out and that unexpected collab with Will and Chris is just ♥ Thanks for all the good vibes you put out into the world!
You are not only lovely, but so wonderfully knowledgable !
Thank you soooo much❤
I like to hear the “Why” way before the end of the video!
Excellent video. This was very helpful. Thanks !!
Thank you for this great video!
So informative and helpful! Thank you...
Thanks. You rock heaps. I now know how to introduce the different kinds of straws.
Wow thank you so much for this video I’ll be doing these daily now:)
Your great! So funny throughout and educational
If you want to eliminate the spilling during the straw-in-water-exercise you can out the straw into a bottle of water. That way it won't splash as much :)

Wow! Great video! So happy I found you :D
very nice, SOVT exercises really do help that mixed voice placement and muscle memory, another good one is puffy cheeks, or basically straw singing without the straw, only keeping airflow out a tiny hole in your lips for those without a straw handy lol!
Warming up and cooling down? Good video
lol that was fun to watch. love this video. Great tips!
You rock!
This is so good! XD
I do tongue trills everyday. It’s amazing how much that helps a warm up.
I have not been able to figure out how to do these.
I may have them but I better wear a bib😅😅😅
lol never thought of tongue trills like that, + I've been doing them for a long while
Great explanation ! Thanks!
helpfullllllllllll
No raspberries here.... I end up making sounds with my throat! Any tips?
Can you please help me? My vocal pitch got so high that it sounds like a whisper. How do I fix it?
You clearly have a lot fo good info. Your slightly muted miking along with background music makes it hard to hear you easily.
Are you a speech therapist?
I want to contact you my pronounciation is not good
Some really useful info but I found the background music annoying - made it harder to simply listen and take in the info.
'Vocal fry' - an end-croak - became fashionable, and while it's predominantly a female style it sometimes gets requested from male performers. Looking forward to less of it!
Good except the way she talks
