The fact that turtle being placed in the center of the kitchen so it has constant attention from the people in the house makes me happy.

- Arcadia itself = totally a play on EPCOT. Even has a lot of the similar "worlds"
- Steve Just = Steve Jobs (Apple)
- DJ Zoom = could easily be DJ Khalid, but also DJ Zhu (American musician)
- Tiffany Amber Gaines = Tiffany Amber Thiessen (Saved by the Bell)
- Walton last name = Walton family owns the monopoly of Walmart, also mix with Walt as in Disney (Elijah has Disney vibes)
- speaking of Elijah, his little 2D friend is a play on Figment from Journey Into Your Imagination
- "Bargain Beastie Boys" is a reference to the Sabotage music video

Thanks for playing this. It's fun to watch, but I don't think I would like to play it myself. Just not my cup of tea for the game play style. Still very enjoyable! I bet his "daring escape" is part of the show too. Maybe gus isn't dead and they just did that to get him moving.

I've had this game in my wishlist for months and when I found out today that it came out I was so sad bc I couldn't play it. But then I thought "This game is really a Gab kind of game, I wonder if she'll play it". I guess I'm psychic now?

I knew Trevor's voice was familiar! It's Yuri Lowenthal (had to look up his name of course) but its the same guy who voices Peter Parker in the 2023 Spiderman 2 game!

When I first heard Trevor's voice, I almost immediately said, "Wait a minute, that guy voice sounds a lot like Spiderman." Then when I googled it and find out it's Yuri Lowenthal voice. I knew I'm not wrong when I said that voice sounds familiar 😂

OMG!!!!!! trevor's voice didnt sound familar until it started to go bad with the voice talking to him and him panicking and i was like "huh...he kinda sounds like spider-man" AND LO AND BEHOLD I GOOGLE IT AND YURI LOWENTHAL IS THE VOICE ACTOR!!! HOW AWESOME! and i also think the lady who you play as that was talking to trevor(havent finished the game lol) was the voice of delilah in firewatch!! she also sounds familiar

It’s kinda amazing that people can just go stay in the land of their favorite show and meet their favorite characters and it’s not fake like meeting a princess at disney because it’s the real world they live in.
I was not expecting to get sucked in as much as I did, but I loveee Trevor so much already!

totally agree with the other comments here about how parts of this game are referencing movies (obviously "The Truman Show", "winning" island getaways from "The Island", the first guy giving off Walt Disney vibes, the Walton family in this game might be a reference to Walt D. but also maybe the Walton family that founded/owns Walmart...etc). Just wanted to add to the list that I think new manager at 10:15 is 100% giving me Bill Lumbergh from "Office Space" vibes, down to the glasses, suspenders and even the yellow tie. 😅

I always wanted a mail tube when I grew up. This reminds me of this old ride at Disney Epcot in Florida. It was made by an airplane company like delta maybe and it showed you cool scenic things from the future, with cheesy mannequins. There was like an underwater bubble with people living in it 😊

Only one episode in and I'm already getting vibes of the book series I'm currently reading. See, I just finished Wool, the first part of Hugh Howey's Silo series, and in the silo, the higher-ups don't like when you try to talk about what happened or what's outside the silo. When they catch you, you're fitted into a custom-made cleaning suit and sent outside the silo to clean the sensors that provide an image of the bleak wasteland outside to the screens in the silo's topmost floor. But once you're out there, you only have just enough time to clean the sensors before you run out of oxygen and the toxins in the environment break down your suit, slowly killing you. Being selected for the Edge Travel Grant sounds disturbingly like being sent out to clean, and I LOVE it.
(also, go read the Silo series if you haven't; I've only read Wool so far, but it's great. I'd watch the TV show that premiered earlier this year, but I don't have Apple TV+.)

A friend of mine told me spider plants were unkillable and low light. It tried dying. Low light for people is WAY too low for even low light plants. I bought it a light. Then I had space for more plants. Then I ran out of space and got another light... And another. I'm now growing 11 plants, some of which are called "dramatic" by plant people 😂 100% it was a watering or light issue. Most plants are really happy drying up between waterings. They're dying to sit under the average aquarium light if they can't be in a window, though!
SOOO many people over water their plants! It doesn't rain every day (unless you're in Florida...) plants need time to let their roots dry a little bit so they don't get rot.

This game looks sooo good! and I like that the gameplay is not very difficult so it doesn’t distract too much from the story
like the fact that arcadia and the presentation is built on walt disney's "world of tomorrow". pretty much before it turned into disney world park after his death, the site was going to be for experimental innovations of a future city. With auto moving sidewalks etc etc.

I need more, pls more Gab, this is so exciting, I have so many questions like if he is inside a globed Arcadia city and she is watching him from the outside, how is he going to leave the city? What is her motive to helping him? Like does she know him? And the shady family that created the city for money, do they have more planned for the people inside Arcadia? How did they keep citizens inside the city?
