I've got mixed feelings about that film aswell, but I just love the visuals and atmosphere so much. Chungking Express was more my thing though

Haha wow thats crazy, small world indeed! I still sort of film the same way about this film, but I really wanna rewatch it again. Cause the first time you watch it your always gonna be comparing it to the book. Might change my opinion on this film.

@AJedProduction Ive never read the books so cant compare the film with that, but i really liked the film. Although i agree with what you said, with the film looking amazing, good music, great acting and the fact that the ending wasn't very good i think overall it was a good effort considering the book was going to be hard to adapt into a film.

Yep its a crazy small world. Well i never read the book so couldn't compare, but i did like the film apart from the end which felt abit dead. But i do feel that i sometimes like a film better the 2nd time around, although i never get time to rewatch. The one film i'm not sure if i liked or not was In The Mood For Love

haha i'm exactly the same. Great acting, style and visuals in In The Mood For Love but just not as good as Chungking Express. CE just had a fast pace and was just fun. But i prefer Happy Together out of both. I do question though if its Wong Kar Wai that makes me like it or Christopher Doyle.

Spoiler Alert: The book is better, read that instead.
But seriously the movie is very pretty and atmospheric but not slowly paced, like a lot of those movies are. It's also well acted but the side characters really don't have much of a presence or reason to be there besides the fact that they were in the book.

Yeah, generally the film is not so good except the visuals. There are awesome scenes visualwise

Sadly Tran Anh Hung didn't do a good job here. Good stuff: Great visuals, great music, great acting, all the actors and actresses were just like I imagined they would be in the book, especially midori. Bad stuff: The film is nice to accompany the book, so you can really visualise the book, but as a stand alone movie it isn't good at all. The story is really rushed through and the characters don't have any depth at all. And worst of all the ending was really really weak, wasn't done well at all.
