Sometimes i forget how freaking massive Jay Cutler was during his early competitive days!!! 💪 Still pretty large even today! Such a great ambassador of the sport of bodybuilding hands down!
He's huge, but the 275 was way too heavy for him to being doing reps here. 225 for reps seems right for his strength. He could barely move the 275. He was definitely keep tension on his shoulders though. He knows what he's doing, and knows his body better than I do though. Just surprises me to see the form with 275. He's massive obviously and one of the best ever in terms of bodybuilding. His rivalries with Ronnie were epic, and he never gave up. He's doing much better than Ronnie is these days.
@@billj4525 yes overloading the muscle with heavy weight and sometimes not the prettiest form is very effective. Nothing wrong with that and theres a reason even cheat curls was given that name
@@eves6718 Yeah, a lot of the time the form looks ugly, but they're keeping tension on the muscle. There's always going to be some cheating when someone is really working hard anyway. I wasn't suggesting he shouldn't cheat, but the 275 seemed steep. These days he's keeping his workouts light, at least for his standards, he looks amazing even today. I think he's still 250 and decently lean,.

Jay's biggest problem was that he had to go up agains the legend in Bodybuilding Ronnie Coleman.. But then again it could also be that this situation made him this good, who know :)
Biggest problem? Beating Ronnie was one of his biggest accomplishments, going against Ronnie wasn’t a problem it was an inspiration
@Azzeddine Aesthetics Very true. I always say that. Jay had to wait for Ronnie to get old to beat him. Ronnie was unbeatable at his peak. Even Jay will say that. And thats no disrespect to Cutler. Its just that Coleman had unbeatable genetics.

Dont get me wrong, the results cannot be denied but those lateral raise/upright row/power shrug abominations were horrible form, everything was in fact but hey it clearly worked for him 🤷 if only it worked for any of us mere natural mortals
it might be horrible form for you, but an individual can feel something in an individual muscle that you don't, for whatever reason
For example, what I see when he does those is a huge stretch at the bottom, which is absolutely crucial for side delts. Upright rows also hit side delts depending how you do them, so whatever variation he is doing here clearly works.

He mentioned (specifically on the shoulder press) that even though it looks like he isn't getting full extension that he really is getting a full stretch. He says it's different for everyone. I wondered that same thing.
