Just a sweet reaction, this song really showcases Marko's ability to sing and his bass playing is so good here as well. Troy was playing the guitar using an ebow, it is such a classic guitar sound from progressive rock bands I love its use here. All around fine tune and your reaction lived up to it.
Tuomas is the keyboardist and composer and writer. Basically he IS Nightwish. Troy is the guy who was on the guitar here but he does other instruments like the Pipes and Flutes and other assorted stuff. I LOVE the reaction! Nice cat. :)
Troy is on the guitar on this one.. usually Empuu is lead guitar and Troy is playing a flute, or maybe pipes or mandolin or something.. But, he's playing that special guitar ebow setup that gives this that angelic guitar sound.. Marco has an excellent voice, so does Troy.. If they need some more rasp, Marco gives it to them.. Harsh vocals, he does that too.. But, he can also do those super smooth clean harmonies to echo Floor, Marco does that as well.. This concert was in December 2015, just a month after the terrorist attacks against the Bataclan venue in Paris. Many bands on tour cancelled or postponed concerts bbut Nightwish refused to do that and I think this song was added to the setlist just because of that. And that is the troubled times Marko is referring to.

Tuomas Holopainen is the keyboards player and he writes the vast majority of their lyrics and music for the band. Troy was the man playing the large mandolin ( the name escapes me ) and he is using an Elbow to create the beautiful sound. Such a sweet reaction to this song!
I think you're thinking of the Irish bosouki, which is the string instrument Troy is usually seen playing. Not in this song though. He is playing an electric guitar here, but you're right about the e-bow.

Tia, High Hopes is the ultimate Marko performance. Everybody plays like their lives depended on it, but Marko carries the song with his vocals. I have to warn you, though: it's pretty darn dark and intense.

Tia, High Hopes is the ultimate Marko performance. Everybody plays like their lives depended on it, but Marko carries the song with his vocals. I have to warn you, though: it's pretty darn dark and intense.

Please learn the name of keyboardist because he makes this all possible - Tuomas Holopainen - who wrote this song originally with male vocals and no guitar for a movie "Lieksa".
