Is this a real sapphire? I heard its very difficult to scratch a sapphire being 9 on mohs scale of hardness

A proper nice to see this craftmanship at work stage by stage.... I was drawn to this as I have recent purchase a garnet ring that I thought incorrectly was damaged... it was explained that it was inclusions in the stone, following on I would have dismissed the Sapphire as it being un repairable..... I now stand corrected on this thought also,,,, many thanks "H"

Other than Aesthetics is there anything wrong with a gemstone that has a small chip? Does it make it more likely to break when putting it in jewellery?
