Thank you for the video,Ma’am. I am planning to get a chimney for my kitchen, The duct length would be close to 10 feet, Is a suction power of greater than 1200 required in this case ? We cook more of non vegetarian food. Also, Can you let us know your feedback for the Elica chimney that you have been using ? Thank You
Thanks for the explained video. As you have vast knowledge about chimneys, I request you to let me know if exhaust of duct chimney can be placed below the level of chimney?
hi saumya elica has introduced a new series of chimney ismart series .they claim less noise .however the suction is mentioned in RPM OF MOTOR.(2400 rpm mentioned) HOW DOES IT COMPARE WITH THE 1200 /1000/1400 OF THE REGULAR CHIMNEYS .
Hi Spacifii! Hmm. RPM and m3/hr are two different metrics and are not comparable. If you are referring to this amzn.to/3S9BoDK type of model from Elica, the inverter motor helps to keep the noise level lower. If you have longer ducting needs, this may be a better option because most others between 1200-1500m3/hr suction power recommend a max ducting of about 8-10ft.
Hi Dinesh, unfortunately, these days not many options of ductless. Can consider one of these amzn.to/38eXTpk or amzn.to/3NwBB1f. The first one does have better suction than the latter.
Hello ma'am We have 4 inch exhaust pipe not 6, will there be a provision for 4 inch dia??? There are no windows in kitchen and 4 inch exhaust pipe will open to air after 1 floor (approx 10 meters). Any suggestions on this would be helpful. Thank you 😊
There are so few ductless chimneys, hard to say. But if you are converting a ducted to ductless with a carbon filter, the same specs of auto clean will work. Carbon filters will need changing though.
I am getting 6-8 bends in kitchen chimney duct- due to constraints of floor plan and society restrictions. It has poor ventillation and because of intensive cooking have to go for ducted chimney.... :(
I have a doubt. In a filterless chimney, at least any part of the suction mechanism, say blower comes in direct contact with the kitchen oil and goop. So what if the blower fins are clogged. Wont it reduce the performance? Plus the blower fans are not placed in a way which can be easily cleaned. Thats what made me buy one with a baffle instead pf filterless
Hi Misham, thanks for sharing. In theory, these are also auto clean - so in the auto clean process it heats up the inside near the motor and all the oil residue is melted and collected in the oil collector. It is required only to clean the outer cover on a regular basis and service the insides about once a year.
my kitchen is a parallel one of size around 7feet ×18 feet duct size will be around 12 feet. will 60cm sunflame chimney of 1250/cub metre suction power will be sufficient.in addition kitchen is otherwise airy with a 4feet window.
Haha I know. I realized after I published. It was a typo which I cannot fix now 🤦♀️ I tried to add that in my pinned comment. Nah am all good for feedback 😊
I want to buy a chimney which has the following features can you tell me the brand: 1. BLDC copper wound motor 2. Blower made of Stainless steel 3. Baffle filter made of stainless steel 4. Oil collector made of Stainless steel 5. Body made of Stainless Steel 6. Auto clean chimney 7. Suction capacity above 1200 cubic meter/hr. 8. Motor 250 w 9. LED bulb 10. Wall mount chimney 11. 90 cms 12. Maximum warranty
Very well explained. Obviously the typo is a apparent and needs to be overlooked 😀..you also already mentioned in your comments. Just one question..if the hob is 60, will it be recommended to go in for 90 cm if fried food or more oil, like in parathas, is generally prepared twice or thrice a month?
Hi Anu, haha, imagine it being 60 inches 😂 you can go for a higher one, but it’s not required. You can look for one with a higher suction power for higher cooking of fried items. Even 90cm ones have a 1000 to 1500 cubic meter per hr suction power, so nothing greater than the 60cm one.
in china, they all use duction chimney hood, deep fried they use airflow above 21m3/min and outlet pressure more than 380pa. see brand folite and robam
The elica model given is not having Auto clean option I feel also the glass doesn’t open up it’s only that small open suction which will help the purpose … there is a better model in elica which has Auto clean option too
I cannot install ducted chimney and I can’t clearly find which chimney can be ductless. Do you have any information from your research on list of chimneys that can be ductless? Size: 60cm!! Would really appreciate help!!

Hi Saumya. I understand the suction capacity. what about the suction area size of the chimney? i need to buy a 90cm chimney. In some models I see that the suction area is same as that in a 60cm chimney. In some models the suction area is almost 90cm. Can I go for a 90cm one with high suction power even if the suction area is small? Can you please suggest?
I have the same doubt. Should I choose a chimney with high suction power like 1400m cube, or a chimney with high suction area with 1200m cube. By suction area I don't mean the size of chimney (60 or 90cm), what I'm referring to is the size of the suction plate under the chimney which is usually 40 - 50 cm
Hi - looks good with decent suction power. You may want to consider a slightly higher suction if possible given the size. But many 90cm ones come with similar suction.
The apartment with am moving in has the chimney exit is on the opposite side of the hob location which is 10ft away. Is it okay to go with ducted even though the length of the hose used will be longer?
Hi Shivam, unfortunately the options are really limited. I was considering this one amzn.to/3kWRYJa - you have to call up the customer support and tell them specifically you need to convert to ductless. In general, they don't have the filters required. Here is another glen option amzn.to/3usHNPF
