You picked the one Dreamcatcher title track that doesn't have a distinct rap part. The main rapper is Dami and she's the one who opens the song. The one with the strong voice is Siyeon and of course she is the main vocalist. Thanks for reacting to Dreamcatcher. You can't go wrong with them no matter which song you pick. They are storytellers though, so their songs are usually part of a continuing narrative. OOTD is the first song in what will probably be a trilogy. It's about the shallow nature of social media culture, fame, and the internet. We're expecting a comeback with the second installment soon.

OOTD is just part of a duology this time around.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
At first glance you could think this is about Dreamcatcher being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. The album is called VersuS VillainS, which makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe it's about useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion.
The fact that fashion is moving ever faster makes it the most destructive industry to the planet only outdone by the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up.
The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra (arch enemy backwards) account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback.
It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. And Handong standing in front of the camera with bruises all over her legs seems to be a comment on the merciless industry as well.
The music is highly interesting as well. The Rock is dirty and distorted. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is funk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.

You got some of the hardest entry points for Dreamcatcher as OOTD is a very very complex M/V. Moreover it is not even the traditional Dreamcatcher soundscape as explained below. Here is some context to better understand:
OOTD (Outfit of the Day) has at least three layers - Superficial, Satirical and Story layer. The first is the most obvious which is the self-empowering, confidence boosting "we are beautiful, successful, rich and famous" kind of message. JiU calls herself Venus, a goddess and being literally "drop dead gorgeous" at the end.. And it is just soo over the top :D But the thing is they deserve it and could actually do it, but it is just not them.
On a satirical layer this song is a huge middlefinger to the music industry in general and the superficial beauty where everything is all about the looks, everything staged and edited. The soundscape and parts of the M/V mimic generic girl crush concept sounds (what you do not really hear in the other 70+ songs DreamCatcher has) and the M/V redraw parts of other M/Vs. Posing with cool Cars and Motorcycles (Siyeon - Sua), doing commercial and product placement (Gahyeon), just posing looking fabulous with high fashion (Handong and JiU wearing Dior), making fake drama for more views (Yoohyeon) etc. The rap section is told from the perspective of an idol how many of them act after getting some fame. And for all the previous pictures they empathize that those are fake, and show how they actually look from behind the scene. Handong with the bruises, JiU like a boxed product, the Yoohyeon drama that ends right after the cut and the behind the scene footage and rendering shots for the other three. They also incorporate really short cuts to ensure we do not take them seriously, like the face Handong makes, Yoohyeon burst into a laughter throughout the final chorus, Siyeon laughing etc. Also the "Look at my necklace" (that she is not wearing), "look at my black dress" while wearing street fashion... Now for this satirical layer they had to adjust a bit their delivery and this is what makes this track different and this is why many who love the Dreamcatcher signature sound complain. First they wanted to not just look but to sound a bit like a traditional K-Pop girl crush song. And those filters and distortions and tuning that make a not so great singer sound good actually take a bit away from parts as we can hear their natural voice less as normally they do not use it since they are such great singers and do not need it... Also they deliberately used lifeless robotic delivery through the "OOTD this my fashion shut up no more question", like OOTD is the only thing that matters, they have no opinion about anything else, do not ask them about anything else as this is the robotic answer you get. In the final chorus they are almost laughing while singing to highlight the sarcasm. Also the overly playful mocking tone of the "I am only doing better". All in all ppl complaining about why the track is different most probably miss this layer.
And finally there is the story layer where OOTD is the 1st part of a duology. Dreamcatcher members here are the villains who lure poor Shasha (the protagonist of the video, working as a video editor or graphical artist) into some kind of an augmented reality experience looking for the "crown" (aka fame, success whatever). The analogy I think is the follow the white rabbit from Matrix (along with many other Matrix style references throughout the M/V). And to appeal to Shasha they play the role of being great and rich and successful aligning with the narcissisms of the satirical layer. The story starts when Sasha searches for Dreamcatcher videos and stumbles upon the mysterious Dreamchat where Archenemy (spelled backwards, the 99th victim of Dreamcather) tells her about the power of the crown that she should be looking for luring her into this VR game. She follows the crown (drawn at the back of the truck) and at the end finds it but falls a victim of Dreamcatcher becoming the 100th sacrifice hence completing the crown. JiU even refers herself as Nephthys who is actually the goddess of death, decay, and darkness, mother of Anubis and Shasha falls when JiU "places the crown" on her head. This lore is not in the video, there were some external clues to put together this part.

I think you should check out more NCT's songs.
NCT is a group with 6 different sub units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, NCT DoJaeJung and NCT WISH. There are 26 members...it's quite a lot bt all the members are really talented, that's what makes NCT special I'd say. Also, their songs are very NEO VIBE, different than any other group songs. The instrumentals are something else...
The songs I recommend you to check:
NCT U: "Misfit" (rap song), "Baggy Jeans", "90s Love", "Boss"
NCT 127: "Kick it", "Highway to heaven"; "2 baddies", "Ay-yo" and KILLING VOICE!!!
NCT DREAM: "Hot sauce", "Hello future", "Graduation" (MY FAV SONG EVER), "Broken Melodies", "ISTJ", "Smoothie" + KILLING VOICE!!!
WayV: "Moonwalk", "Love Talk", "Phanom", "On my youth"
    NCT DoJaeJung: "Kiss", "Perfume"
    NCT WISH: "NASA", "Hands up"
A lot of members have also their solo songs/ albums. For example MARK which song you almost played hahaha..
Solo songs I recommend you to listen to:
TAEYONG's "Shalala", "TAP" (most neo vibe songs)
MARK's "200" (newest one), "Child", "Golden Hour"
    DOYOUNG's "Little Light"
TEN's "Birthday", "Low-Low" (with Yangyang), "Paint me naked"
TAEIL's "Starlight" (ost to kdrama) VOCALS!!!
there are more but that's what I recommend for the beginner :))

"It's so rocky!" btw that's just Dreamcatcher. That's not just this one song. That's their signature! You'll always hear a guitar lol
Dami has a rap part, but it's just more laid back. She varies her tone, cadence, and flow greatly based on the overall feel of the track.
Also, it's so funny how every non-Dreamcatcher fan hears and acknowledges how rock "OOTD" is, but many Dreamcatcher fans had so many bad takes about how it wasn't rock lol

Yep. Every comeback there is some type of complaint from some part of the fandom. Too much rock, not enough rock, not the right kind of rock on and on. Then a few comeback later that one song is now a staple and recommended by everyone. Boca was the same, Vision or Maison. Heck Scream did too. It’s ridiculous at this point and I just ignore those comments now. lol.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher and welcome to the Dreamworld!
Dreamcatcher always incorporate rock and metal instrumentals in their title tracks and many of their b-sides. Some of their songs are straight up metal and rock songs but don't let that fool you into thinking that's all they do. Their discography is one of the most diverse I've ever come across and includes dozens of gernes and sub-genres like Jazz, R&B, EDM, Trap, Reggae, Rock, Pop, Ballads, Funk, and much more. They have 80ish songs in the discography at this point, and you'd be hard pressed to find two songs that can fit into the same category as even their title tracks, which always use rock/metal instrumentals, are pulling from different sub-genres with every release.
The two girls voices you pointed out are Siyeon and Yoohyeon. Siyeon (red hair) is the Main vocalist of the group and Yoohyeon (blue hair) is one of the lead vocalists.
Dreamcatcher have been around for a while and just recently passed their 7-year mark as a group, though 5 of the 7 members have been together since 2014, originally as a different group called Minx. Minx was a more traditional sounding K-pop group with a bubbly, cute concept. They unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, failed to create waves in the market and were disbanded in late 2016. Their failure is mostly attributed to poor management decisions, an oversaturated market, and coming from a small company. However, instead of cancelling the girls' contracts, their CEO decided to bet everything he had on them. They added two new members, Handong & Gahyeon, changed their staff, hired new producers, and re-debuted the group as Dreamcatcher.
Dreamcatcher was a complete 180 from Minx, debuting with a rock/horror storyline that allowed them to carve out their own niche in the industry. Ironically, the very thing that makes them so unique and allowed them to thrive in a market oversaturated by cute concepts, also keeps them from being part of the mainstream conversation. Rock, especially in Korea, isn't very popular and groups doing horror concepts were almost unheard of when Dreamcatcher debuted, especially girl groups. This means that Dreamcatcher mostly flies under the radar in Korea but has garnered a pretty large following internationally. They do a good bit of touring and have been averaging 20 - 30 shows a year since covid restrictions were lifted in 2022, mostly in the US and Europe.
If you want to check out more from them, you could check out their Dystopia trilogy which leans a little more into the realm of K-Pop by mixing their rock core with EDM and Electronic instrumentation or check out their Apocalypse trilogy which pulls more from industrial and progressive rock.
    Dystopia Trilogy
    Scream
    Boca
    Odd Eye
    Apocalypse Trilogy
    Maison
    Vision
    Bonvoyage
If you want to get an idea of the type of versatility they can display, you could also check out the Villains EP, which OOTD is the title track for. It's an Intro and 4 songs and one of the other songs on the EP, Shatter, has a performance video you can watch.
Also, they've started hinting at a comeback in July which would be the follow up to OOTD and the final part of the Versus Duology.
    Enjoy!
