Thank you for all your guidance re: painting in watercolor especially letting us know when to allow our paintings to dry! Many artists don’t do that. Your tips are so helpful.
Brilliant Karen - you will be fully booked any minute! I will definitely do this one as I can’t make the “live” experience! Your rocks and the sunlight on them are so effective; not too much manic wet in wet so quite relaxing too 👏🙏😘
Thank you so much Chris. You will be missed in Spain! Really pleased you like the light on the rocks. I enjoyed using the card to create the rocks… I hope have fun painting this one!🎨😊💕
This painting is so beautiful ! Your reminders are important and very helpful! I love painting rocks and your application showed me helpful advice. Thanks again, Karen for sharing your expertise!

I absolutely love watching you paint, and also listening to you talk about painting. I'm a newbie, so I always learn something, usually several somethings hahaha.Thank you!
Beautiful painting. I was just wondering why you chose to paint the rocks wet on dry but when you did the water you did wet on wet? Was it so your colors would stay away from the dry rocks? I’m very much a beginner and your paintings are so helpful.
You know what Karen? You’re awesome! I love checking in with you every six months or so to see what you’ve been doing, what cool tricks you’ve come up with now. 😊 The credit card for rocks trick? Brilliant! I’m trying it soon. There’s so many little random texture and shape maker ideas you’ve come up with that stick with me! And I swear they’re part of my travel kit when I’m out doing plein air. Or doing a little semi abstract landscape from pictures I’ve taken. Artist friends asking “how’d you get that cliff to look like that!?” Saran Wrap. “Hey how did you get those little rocks in the wall so neat? Did you outline each one?” Noooo, it’s bubble wrap dipped in paint. “Those lines across that stone! They’re amazing! How?” Applied the different paints all at once with a Credit card! Karen Rice on RUclips Babehs! She is the Queen of watercolor textures! 😅

It will depend on the paper you and the temperature of the room but you’ll need to use your own judgement and ensure the paper isn’t still too damp before going on to the next stage. I hope that helps :)
@@atirblum 30 seconds on a hot day painting outside. 2 hours on a cold day painting outside. It really depends on the room temperature when painting inside. Also how wet your painting is. So hence I cannot be specific about timings. I usually use a hairdryer on damp paint, not wet when I am short of time. Allowing the painting to dry naturally is the best.
I love that you have your reference picture in the corner. It helps so much to see where you are going. Thank you!

I will remember about the drying time! You have so much skill with the use of water - your brushes just seem to glide across the paper! Thanks Karen
Thank you so much 😊
I love how you somehow transform a painting with various techniques like card and spatter. And yes, I must allow paint to dry, dry dry!!!!
Thank you so much 😊
You can do it!

Isn't the idea of a squirt/drop cone head on themadking fliud bottle just ingenious?! Thank you. Lovd your content, Karen. G Ire
So glad you enjoyed it 😊
What dark color or mixture are you using on the rocks that you are swiping with the card?
Ultramarine, Red and Paynes Grey 🎨
Hi Karen on your pattern are these tutorials made at a slower pace as I love the way you teach. Thank you.

Do you wash your watercolor palettes in between paintings?
I do most times yes.
Awesome 👍
Thanks 🤗

Thank you so much 😊
WoW❤
Thank you 😊
For how long did you leave the sky to get dry? For getting just damp?😊
It will depend on the paper you and the temperature of the room but you’ll need to use your own judgement and ensure the paper isn’t still too damp before going on to the next stage.
I hope that helps :)
@@KarenRiceArt Of course it depends o a lot of things.😊 But an estimate- half an hour or three hours or?🤔

Watercoloring has alot to do with a loose dynamic wrist movement
What was the mistake to avoid?
not allowing your painting to dry before you paint the next layer.
Air dryer is probably a good option to accelerate progress
Yes absolutely. 😊
