You’re one of the best at giving real world applications in your videos. It shows you have a lot of experience and can explain it in a way that is very relatable. Glad I came across your channel Steve.
Definitely helped me figure out the size I needed.. As I sat on my bike my wife was like, "you don't ride like that!" She was like, "get into your Easy Rider position." LMAO.. Looked funny as hell with a piece of 1/2 in pvc pipe with a level taped on it on my upper lip.. Thanks brother.. keep them coming! SIK
Thank you for the information. I just came across this video and I’ve been interested in purchasing a Klock Werks windshield for some time now. Keep up the good work, and yes I’ve been subscribed to your channel for over a year now. Happy holidays.
Hey steve I just wanted to tell you that I have been binge watching your videos and I love them, great information and very professionally done and I have learned a lot from watching them.
I have a 2012 street glide with the stock 4 inch windshield on it. I got a piece of cardboard. In this case it was a cereal box and I added 3 1/2 inches to the heights of my windshield and taped the serial box to the windshield. Yes it looks stupid. But I rode with it being 3 1/2 inches taller and I could not see through the cereal box and it cut down the wind Dramatically. Also it gave me the feeling of not being able to see through the shield. And it worked great
Thank you Brad...older video but the fitment reamins the same ...Love the low profile 6 incher but man I should not have gotten dark..its black lol should have got smoked...I got smoked for the RG and love it
@@sikbaggers when you mentioned the curve of the windshield hampering your view, that struck a nerve, because it's happening to me up in the twisties, so as a short person "LOL" I' ve changed my mind about the size.
Good vid Steven, nice and easy way of determining windshield height. But it is highly recommended that you look OVER your windshield as opposed to looking through. Especially like the " six pack and a buddy" suggestion.
Thank you for checking it out...and yes this is the procedure for looking over the windshield...specially with the Klock Werks..it has way too much curve for looking through it. I do not recommend looking through this windshield.
Picked up a 2019 FLTRU a few weeks ago. The stock 15 inch oe windshield came off immediately. I currently have the 14 inch Klock Werks Sport Flare on demo. I’m definitely going to order one for my own.
Steve. Been watching your videos for some time and taken on some of your suggestions making my bike mine. I have 2022 HD Freewheeler with a Reckless with a Klock Werks 6.5 windscreen. Question: Will a windshield bag fit with it. If so which ones will fit with it. Thanks.
I appreciate the views my friend...I have not seen one but the wbsite says it will..." Harley-Davidson sells a three-pouch windshield bag designed for vents that will work with the 6.5", 8.5", 10.5" and 11.5" Flare™ Windshields." thats for the SG batwing front end so it should be ok with the freewheeler
great simple way to do it, I have been kicking this issue around for over 2 years...I still have the stock 19" shield on my 2007 Road Glide, what a pain...going to Biketoberfest and Laconia rallies hoping to find a Klockwerk stand to measure me up. Just found a Harley dealership that offers the free windshield test you spoke of. Nice video, thanks!
absolutely the best way to see whats right for you is stick it on there. Glad you found a dealer that has it. I have seen a few that dont...just takes about 5 minutes and your off! Best of luck to you, thanks for the checking out the vid too! Be safe!!
Great video. I have a new 2019 Street Glide Special. Love the bike, hate the wind on the open road. My bike came with a 5 inch windshield. I did all the measurements and ordered a 7 inch windshield from Klock Werks. Hopefully this will solve the wind issues. Thanks.
Nice...congrats on the new sled!! Yeah the hd wind screens leave some to be desired...of course they sell a windsplitter "upgrade" so im sure that had something to do with it. lol You will love the klock werks man....one of the best things I done to the bike outside of getting rid of the stock suspension. If I had to buy another again I would buy another Klock werks for sure!
im 6 foot and I run the 6.5 and love it...the 8.5 made it too hard to see over the windshield going over hills...always looking forward going over hills I was having to lean up to see over it to see if anything is in the road..you do this I promise...you just dont realize it until you cant see..switched to the 6.5 and love it..winds goes over mine and the wifes head with no issues.
I did the measuring on the my 2014 street glide and I have a 7 inch klock worth shield on my bike but I'm getting so much buffering around 70 mph or more. And when I do the measurements my windshield it measuring for a 7 inch! And I measure the same way on the video
I have a 2014 Harley limited looking for a different windshield when I ride 2 up in her face. Also looking for new set of bars I don't know if I want to go 14 or 16
These klockwerks really flip up the wind for me and the wife. Well worth the money..and the plastic is tough! The bars are really a user preference....you should see if your local HD has some used ones in there and test ride them to see what you like.
Yea. I have been on the fence for some time now between Klock Werks and Memphis Shades. Both are equally represented and both have a ton of great reviews. Which didn’t help. Lol Before you chose Klock Werks did you try Memphis Shades? If you did, what made you choose the KW over MS?
I had a memphis shades shield along time ago and it was ok...I think the over all looks on the bike sold this one to me..And its just bad ass..kicks the wind up and over, its been hit with rocks several times and no damage, doesnt scratch when cleaning like cheapo's do and at the end of the day I think it looks much better...sleek sexy lines! if you will. Got the same sport flare on my RG
Hey thanks man..I am just at 6 foot and honestly I can barely see over the screen. Going over a blind steep hill I have to pull myself up a bit to see a little farther...It wouldnt be as bad if I had smoked or clear but mine is black...and when KW says black..its black ...you cant see anything through it
You have to follow the instruction here to measure. I cannot guess what size you may need because I dont know your riding style...you could be slouched or sitting straight up and down...height doesnt matter much on any windshield...you have to get in your riding position and then measure straight out to see the size of windshield you need.
You measure straight up...the degree on the forks does not matter..,.straight up from your center bolt to your straight line from your upper lip and youll be good.
Bill, the one I have is for a touring bike with batwing fairing however they do make one for your bike...this is the softtail models here www.getklocked.com/shop/oe-replacement-flaretm-for-softail-models
They make a 17 and a 20...depending on how you want it..look over it (recommended) or through it..it sits pretty much right on top of your headlight so measure up from there...itll take 2 people to get an accurate measurement. but the RK flare doesnt have much of a swoop to it...so the 17 or 20 should be pretty much 17 or 20 up from the headlight
If you decide to get the bezel just know its a bugger to get on without having a gap at the bottom...just google it and youll find a ton of pages on the issue...its tricky but you can get it on with minimal to no gap. If you have issues man just hit me up.
Thx Steven,,, Yes I did seems some complains regarding fitment/installation.... That is the only reason I haven't got one yet... your looks great so I'm going to pull the plug and order from the Motor Company... I'll ping you if I get come up with questions!!!
no sir...that is just a trim piece...you can get one from HD or there are a lot of aftermarket ones available too for much cheaper. But that is just an add on...nothing to do with the windshield itself.

thank you...much appreciated. Its an awesome windshield. If you choose to get the Klockwerks you'll love it.

im 6 ft, just got a 2018 CVO street glide, the wind from the orginal shield is hitting me in the forehead, i was looking at buying the 8.5?
im 6 foot and I run the 6.5 and love it...the 8.5 made it too hard to see over the windshield going over hills...always looking forward going over hills I was having to lean up to see over it to see if anything is in the road..you do this I promise...you just dont realize it until you cant see..switched to the 6.5 and love it..winds goes over mine and the wifes head with no issues.

I have a 2014 Harley limited looking for a different windshield when I ride 2 up in her face. Also looking for new set of bars I don't know if I want to go 14 or 16

Glad it helped you! Thanks for checking it out...much appreciated. What size and style did you end up going with?
I ordered the 6.5
AWESOME / Thanks Brother, Great Video / Ride Safe
Hey man! youre very welcome. Have an awesome Christmas!
How does your windshield work for the passenger also
Great video. What windshield pouch do you recommend for this style windshield?
I dont think you can use one with this windshield on the 6.5 inch or smaller..maybe with the taller ones though.
Yea. I have been on the fence for some time now between Klock Werks and Memphis Shades. Both are equally represented and both have a ton of great reviews. Which didn’t help. Lol

Hey Steven, thx for the video. Just curious, how tall are you? I can't imagine the smaller 6.5 shield being tall enough. Thx!

Going over a blind steep hill I have to pull myself up a bit to see a little farther...It wouldnt be as bad if I had smoked or clear but mine is black...and when KW says black..its black ...you cant see anything through it
Steven Housden Thx for that information. It will definitely help me in my purchase. Thx again for the videos!
hello Steve I have a Street Glide I put a CVO seat on it I am 5'11 how many inches do you think my windshield should be

louis pelaez the whole purpose of the video explained all that and you’re that lazy that you can’t take 6 minutes to watch the damn video!
do you measure straight up and down or the angle of the front forts
You measure straight up...the degree on the forks does not matter..,.straight up from your center bolt to your straight line from your upper lip and youll be good.
Will the Werk work for my 18 Heritage Softtail classic
Bill, the one I have is for a touring bike with batwing fairing however they do make one for your bike...this is the softtail models here www.getklocked.com/shop/oe-replacement-flaretm-for-softail-models
Are you able to have the Harley Three Pouch with the 6.5?
that I am not quite sure on Tyler....Id call KW and ask them...Ive never used one...sorry I cannot help you there.
How you measure KW for Road King?
They make a 17 and a 20...depending on how you want it..look over it (recommended) or through it..it sits pretty much right on top of your headlight so measure up from there...itll take 2 people to get an accurate measurement. but the RK flare doesnt have much of a swoop to it...so the 17 or 20 should be pretty much 17 or 20 up from the headlight
Is the windshield you are using dark smoke or black?
Lance Sparks I went with black on this one.
Very nice bike Steven
Thank you very much...Its much appreciated.
Good info thanks 👍🏻
Great video and info.
Thank you for checking it out Antonio!
Does it help the wind go over you and not in your face
yes..A huge difference ...it was well worth the money..still running it today...that goes for rider and passenger as well..my wife loves it.
Thank you. 2018 SGS and this stock windshield is utter crap. Getting a Klock Werks.
You're very welcome...you'll love that KW windshield if you get the right height. My wife loves it too....blows most of the air over her as well.
Thanks great video
Thank you Darryl!
Great information
Thank you , much appreciated.
Thx for the video.... who makes the headlight bezel you have on your bike? Thx!
Youre welcome...The trim ring is from Harley...it is the Visor Style Headlamp Trim Ring

Thanks for checking it out Victor
How tall are you?
6'
Thanks
You're welcome.
Steven Housden do you have to have the metal trim along the top of the fairing to install this new windshield? Only thing holding up my order now.
no sir...that is just a trim piece...you can get one from HD or there are a lot of aftermarket ones available too for much cheaper. But that is just an add on...nothing to do with the windshield itself.
Great work👍
Thanks bro!
