    If you are someone who has dealt with anxiety for a longer period of time you are likely experiencing pain - pain that seems to be omnipresent and never goes away. You feel fatigued and tired and that discomfort in your body might even keep you awake at night.
    The worst part of all of this is that for many of us with anxiety disorders this dull pain throughout the body is the trigger for many other bodily sensations and other anxiety symptoms that ultimately lead to full-blown panic attacks.
    This video is aimed to show and explain how I have experienced this very debilitating symptom and how I have ultimately recovered.
    As I can't explain my recovery process in detail in every video, you should go over to the anxiety recovery playlist here: • Anxiety Recovery - Com...

    I experience just random pain everywhere in my body like a bouncy ball bouncing pain around and it feels like it’s in my bones, I’ve convinced myself it can’t be anxiety but I’ve noticed that when I take my dance classes I have little to no pain…

    I'm reading the comments and i know it sounds mean, but it makes me so happy that other people feel this too. I feel angry with myself and sad and frustrated that i can't control my mind. I can't control my anxiety and physiological symptoms. I feel pissed that I'm giving my mum that stress. But knowing that I'm not all alone, it eases something inside.

      Same here. I'm afraid of everything. I'm afraid of the world. Anxiety made me into a different person. I didn't mind having social anxiety back then because at least with social anxiety you were only just anxious in crowds or when you're outside but health anxiety is a whole different beast. It stays with you for 24 hours a day and it just never leaves. I have been trying to exercise, meditate and all those good things that will help me out of this but goddamn it's hard as hell to overcome. You have to always be on top of your game in order for anxiety to go away. I have never felt as broken as I've been feeling lately. It's so overwhelming. And everything is dark around you and the world itself never feels real since you're always dissociating and feeling like you're actually going crazy. It's a lot of everything.😢

    I only have one doubt here. I remember during my initial days (Before I fully realized that it was all my anxious mind and stress responses), I used to go for running/jogging daily based on a GPs recommendation.
    Surprisingly all my pent-up stress used to get dissipated and I used to feel very relaxed/natural.
    ONLY PROBLEM here is, as soon as I left it after a month, I got all my symptoms back within the next few days.
    And NOW, a year later, I am worried that even if I start exercising and feel good, which I definitely will, am I not concentrating on facing anxiety mentally but only doing a damage control process of JUST EXERCISING to dissipate the stress energy?? Am I not addressing the root of anxiety??
    Really appreciate anyone's views on above.

    But there's only one symptom I can't get last - and it's waking up during the night/morning with excruciating head pains, it's almost unbearable, and only ever happens when I wake up, then slowly dissipates throughout the day.. its not a migraine I've had plenty of them, but this is something else..

    • @ImprovementPath
      @ImprovementPath  3 года назад +2

      not sure if its the same but I remember that back in my anxiety days I too woke up a few times with the worst type of headache. It was a bit like a knife was stuck in my brain and only lasted for mabye 1-2 hours and would go leaving me slightly nauseas.

    • @jimmy1143

      @@ImprovementPathI dont get nauseous from it, it just exacerbats my anxiety to another level when I'm going through it.. feels like ALOT of pressure and squeezing, really intense, like my head's going to burst. I can totally relate to the chronic tension you had. And it great to hear someone that has overcome this condition. I get chronic tension in my temples and it is there every day. It started back up after starting a sales job and I am like you and keep trying to find the solution for it. I have been working out consistently though every day for a long time and it does help but I still have trouble accepting these sensations so it has been a struggle daily. I even meditate daily. How did you learn to accept these sensations overtime when it was giving you so much difficulty concentrating and making it hard to concentrate when someone is talking to me?

    • @ImprovementPath
      @ImprovementPath  3 года назад +1

      I can relate to this so much, especially the part not being able to concentrate on a simple conversation. To be honest, life did change dramatically due to anxiety but I got pretty good in controlling signs from the outside. I did however have difficulties focusing and that only got better over time. I think its important to come to terms with that anxiety is just like any other illness and it will take time to recover and function "normally" again. Forcing it will just make things worse. I can see that you are working on some great habits. Continue doing that, incorporate more over time and see how stress will slowly but surely lower. Eventually your rational brain will come back to life and you will be able to make out things pretty clearly.

    • @mattwiden8216
      @mattwiden8216 3 года назад

      Improvement Path Unfortunately for me these habits did not take my tension headache and still had it for a long time. I was also exercising and eating healthy continuously when I started the job but when it started coming up I started stressing about this symptom a bit. I have noticed that I unconsciously clench my shoulders and my head moves forward so I am trying to relax this area and not judge or stress about the pain. Do you not experience the tension feeling at all anymore?

      I am not a licensed therapist or medical professional so i cannot say with certainty what can cause anxiety and just can explain what ive been through and how i recovered. But yes, i do believe that past trauma can lead to anxiety disorder but it is not a must! The thing is that past trauma that hasnt been coped with continues to produce stress and so your "normal" stress levels are always elevated and you wont be needing a lot of additional stress to be triggered into a panic attack. Once there, the oanic attack itself is so unknown and frightening that it fuels additional stress and so we dig ourselves into a deep hole. To answer your question, yes, dealing with past trauma can be a paet of recovery but isnt a must imo if your additional trigger was something comoletely different. Nevertheless having great cooimg mechanisms to manage stress is always the way to go

      I am not in a position to diagnose as I dont have a license whatsoever. I can just say that anxiey can create a lot of weird sesnations. It also could be that you actually did experience some pain at some point, which got you worried and stressed and so you focused on that area. Once in this hyperfocused state you will notice everything that is going on, even things that you never even thought or felt before and that wouldnt disturb someone without anxiety....

      @@justine2760 thank you Justine, actually it the feeling seems to be different from normal headache. Just that kind abnormal feeling on the head nd inches that occupy so much our mind nd takes away my joy nd almost affecting my social life.. Strange enough that it goes away when we are very active nd comes 🔙 when u are less active. Nd becomes strong when we think much of it nd gets worried about it. Anyway i really feel relieved today seeing or hearing other people coping with similar feelings. If not i was getting crazy over it. Thank u Justine for ur reply.

      It definitely can be anxiey as I too dealt with pain in the legs and I was especially sensitive to sensations in my calves area (no idea why lol) my jeans rubbing weirdly and I would freak out thinking i was having a stroke! Did you check out the anxiety recover playlist? If not, check out those videos. I am sure they can help :)

    Hi! Big question here, please comment if you can!! I am experiencing everything you did and am ready to excercise and help calm my body as well. No longer afraid to but my body pain and sensations are turned up after excercise. Should I start slow and how long before it actually starts to help calm the body instead of exasperate it?? Thank you so much for your time and videos!!

      Hi Debbie Mata, I have the same question. My mucle tension gets really bad after exercise. Should we just "push" through untill it gets better?

      @@yulu4115 good to hear you have experienced the same. I have a feeling it will get better with time but still want to hear some suggestions from someone who has gotten through to the other side. Sometimes think it’s better to do very light excercise like stretching and walking when the body is so beat up but not sure.

      @@debbiemata9219 I agree. Do you know the webpage Anxiety centre? There they maintain only light to moderate exercise durng recovery. But what Improvement path says also makes sense... going about things like you are all fine untill you feel fine. But the other day, I just did some extremely light weight lifting which make me feel like I have a brick in my chest the next morning. It seems it is very easy to pull muscles when they are tight. But the feeling also passed in a few hours, and went back to "just normal tightness". I think perhaps starting light and slowly increasing every day?

      That is true and I too often felt a lot worse during but especially after an intense workout. However, even when it wasnt intentional at the time I did start out slow with 20 minute jogs at the beginning and or pure body weight exercises. So by the time I went to the gym and had my intense workouts my hypersensitivty wasnt as intense anymore as I have gradually upped my stress tolerance by regular very light exercise beforehand. BUT still, I will be honest here and say that a day or two after a workout I could feel worse. The good thing is that in those times you can kind of teach your brain to associate the "pains" with the previous exercise and step by step explain why you feel this way.
      Hope that kind of makes sense?

      @@ImprovementPath Yes! Makes perfect sense. Slow and steady is what the body always prefers, sensitized or not. Thank you for the reassurance! Started slow, fast walking for 30 minutes and doing some squats and lunges since legs aren’t painful like the upper body area where most of the tension seams to reside. Really appreciate you getting back!
