What freaks me out, is that lots of my symptoms also seem to happen when im "relaxed" or when I think I'm not anxious, which then makes me think its not just anxiety, and then I get anxious again

have been going through this recently, since coming back from europe i’ve had some stress looking for another job and obviously been put under financial stress, it’s all been fine and manageable but the last few days I’ve started getting these random aches and pains all over my body, hand tingles, forearm pain, neck and back aches, wrist pain, leg pain, pain on the sides and top of my head, everywhere, and when everyone around me says it’s just because i’m anxious and stressed it is reassuring because I know it is probably true and i’ve been in a similar situation before and that was the outcome, however like yourself what plays on my mind is that i cannot comprehend how these physical symptoms are caused by stress and anxiety, like finger tingles and radiating pain in my forearms and under my jaw because of stress? it’s scary, but i’m going to the doctor next week for a check up basically for my peace of mind that it isn’t anything more serious, i keep telling myself it’s just stress, it’s ultimately about keeping my mind busy, exercise, trying meditation as silly as it may sound, and comfort things like movies or tv shows that distract me, i know it’s easier said than done but give these things a go or try to realise what distracts you! i’ve also been having these ashwagandha tablets twice a day and they have helped me calm down a bit as well! overall don’t feel like you’re alone in this because you’re definitely not!

Brilliant explanation of the effects of stress manifesting itself in the body, and with all the comments of shared experience is of great comfort. I've managed to stay off antidepressants for 10 months now for the first time in 32 years. Every time I attempted to come off in the past,I couldn't make it past 6 months off due to protracted withdrawal. This time around 5 months mark,my body went into a complete chronic muscle tension phase. I too have thought I've had fybromyalgia in the past, and this time thought I must have stiff person syndrome. I literally could not move like a rusted up tin man,was in pain, couldn't get out of bed, rise from the sofa, bend over with so much back pain from a previous injury after a fall, exacerbated by the muscle tension.Thankfully after the 6 month mark it inproved greatly, but I still suffer with it all over my body from head to toe. Every muscle and every joint. It's going to take a long time using every anxiety/stress busting technique I now use to recover, while my brain readjusts to life without chemical intervention, and this video gives me the support to cope with it and carry on with recovery. Thanks. 🙏👍.

Omg yes! Anxiety does cause cause pain. I’ve had exacerbated sciatica pain, lower back pain, sharp shooting pain (I think it’s never pain) all over my body even behind my eyes and head😢ive also had episodes of horrible back muscle weakness/and aches it’s gotten so bad that it feels so heavy to carry my my body around. Carrying my small hand bag feels heavy to my bag. To top it off my body burns so bad, especially my knees, joints and muscles. It’s been horrible. I’ve started applying Dr. Sarno’s method and it’s been helping-it’s been one week since I’ve felt a reduction in pain. I pray and hope I keep improving 😊

I really needed to hear this right now. A year ago, I developed these mysterious aches in my hands and feet, which soon became full body pain and tenderness, jittery muscles, an elevated heart rate, and all sorts of nasty symptoms. In my frenzy to get an answer to what was wrong, I was misdiagnosed twice - once with pinched nerves, sending me to a baffled physical therapist who said that didn't make sense, and then with small fiber neuropathy by a "specialist" who said they didn't even need to test me, they just knew. I now have three scars on my legs from getting the skin biopsy with a neuromuscular specialist who did want to test me for it, and everything came back normal. For a few months now, I've been working on trying to relax and do the mental work to recover from anxiety but man, it's hard. There's that nagging voice in my head that always makes me wonder if it's actually fibromyalgia, even though none of the (many many) doctors I've seen over this past year have suggested it, and several of which whom had experience working with fibro patients and said they didn't think it was what I was going through.
So long story short, hearing you say that you felt the same things and had the same worries was really comforting. Thank you.

Aside from when it just happened and the funeral, most of the time when I cry is when I'm so anxious and panicked the only way to relieve myself is to cry. But I have all kinds of physical pains, my area is the neck and chest, so much so I am convinced I have some sort of respiratory issue and sometimes I get chest pain. the worst anxiety is health anxiety because it keeps me thinking about if this pain is just anxiety or cancer.. there is no way to know for sure so it keeps my anxiety going. I have been worrying about several different kinds of cancers this year because of some symptoms. I noticed that the more anxious I am, more new symptoms I get. Googling symptoms has become my full time job.....anxiety probably kills me before cancer. Christ have mercy on us.

Dr's can't figure it out. Lyme maybe. Maybe just awful anxiety I'm unware of. If I go for a run, I get pre-cramps all the time. Really sucks the fun out of life. 6 years and counting.

Oh man..I suspected rheumatoid arthritis aswell and it let up every time I took muscle relaxants, my doctor gave me a shot and it let up completely but I was still worried and am not convinced yet since I have symptoms that cant be explained by tensions like my one eye pussing and the other being runny outside. But I seriously hope its just tensions after 6 months it hurts so bad one cannot function. Like every joint is BURNING and being stung by needles along with someone occasionally banging them with a hammer. I also creak all over and 100 other things..

Thank you im currently going through this right now I lost my mom to stage 4 breast cancer two days after my 33 birthday and for the first year I was in shock and was just numb but now I’m anxious more than I’m not so the stress is just building and building and I just hurt muscle twitching and spasms are probably my worst symptom which in turn is cause body aches in my literally all over my body and I feel like I’m going to loss it like you have said I have know pain when im anxious as soon as I’m anxiety stop all the symptoms slowly start going away and I feel like a 100% but I just don’t know how or what to do I know I definitely have to stop googling symptoms because that just makes it so much worse unfortunately at this point life just sucks but I know that my mom would not only want me to but would be disappointed if I even though about giving up and I know that suicide is never the option and isn’t even on the table plus I have Thanatophobia plus knowing that other people are having the same symptoms I’m having in some f’ed up way helps #NeverGiveUp

I had a heart attack in April this year so had triple bypass pass. I lost my only daughter in May 22 it’s been difficult. My pain just won’t go away. I’ve even thought about suicide because living with pain everyday has changed me I’m so depressed don’t go out just focus on my pain. I can describe it in three words . Torture, Hell Suicide. I’ll not do any like that but it seems it’s me only way out. I just need some help to try and understand why all this pain it hell on earth. Thanks for reading
