Hi Cassandra. Can you please react to the video where Wayne Goss wears sunscreen to bed? It gave me severe anxiety because surely it could affect acne prone skin??? Dr Dray did a reaction video, but I found her reaction quite contradictory considering her previous advice, and now I'm very confused. Still love her though. I would REALLY appreciate your advice on this topic as many of us found it very confusing xxx
From what I recall, he specified it did not break him out specifically, but I know it'd break me out for sure, we're all different in what our skin can handle Where was she contradicting herself?
She really hasn’t said anything that would be a contraindication involving the sunscreens she wears on a daily basis, mainly sunscreens that have fragrance like how rihanna said she wore it to bed. But you don’t have to wear sunscreen to bed, Wayne just kind of went overboard on the sun protection and kind of a waste to product
@@prakashp2450 Thats what I was thinking, it was effectively a night time moisturizer, he said it worked for him, and Dr Dray said he still gets a bit of the protection when he wakes up in the morning and sips his coffee in front of the window. Assuming he doesnt rub his face into his pillow all night. Which was his goal as far as I could tell. Doesnt mean we need SPF overnight as Dr Dray said, but if he doesnt want to slap on spf first thing in the morning thats a good strategy for him.
As someone with acne prone skin, I use sunscreens that aren’t water-resistant and as a result they perform and feel like any regular moisturizer, just a bit more emollient. So using a product with spf at nighttime doesn’t seem that shocking or guarantees break outs by any means, it just depends on the formulation
There really wasnt anything contradicting in my opinion. Dr dray didnt outright state using sunscreen at night is good or bad and on top of it she often mentioned sunscreen can be used as a moisturizer due to sunscreens usually coming lotion and cream form
Such a good reaction video. I’ve learned so much from your channel and it has done wonders for my skincare journey. Thank you for always doing such a great job with researching and providing such quality content!
This is exactly why I don't fully "trust the experts" and roll my eyes every time someone tells me to "see a derm with that"...I had so many dermatologists recommend bs to me that went horribly wrong, caused permanent damage or did nothing at all. I think there should always be a middle ground, listen to the derm, but don't believe EVERYTHING they say. Try and see how it works, but don't force it if it doesn't.
If financially possible, it's best to get multiple opinions and looking for doctors who also publish in medical journals, they're close to the actual scientific research.
I freaking love you Cassandra!! You’re so smart! I get heated also as an esthetician. I missed you in your chat the other day!! Hugs and kisses 😘 🐈🐈❤️❤️
I have 100% put cucumber slices on my eyes before. I don't know that it really DID anything for me, but it was very soothing, and made me feel fancy. Also, when I was done, I liked to dip the slices in hummus and eat them.
In India we have two types of turmeric one is used in food and other one is used for skincare it's use in Ubtan (kind of exfoliator) and it didn't stain face but has properties of turmeric. The one that stain your skin is food turmeric It's called Mango ginger
I remember doing the honey test once and it worked with clearing up acne scars. I didn't use any other different product while using it because I wanted to see if the hype was real and it worked, took like 3 months LMAO but yeah... Also, you can buy honey from small family businesses. They will offer you the best natural honey while taking care of the bees. Don't demonise everything...
In my country, we've been using honey for skincare and haircare culturally. Works great. Other ingredients that work are- neem, aloe vera and turmeric.
@@bibimbap5917 I've seen some dermatologists say honey is ok, as is aloe vera and turmeric, (I'm unfamiliar with neem) although they think actual skincare is better. There are some good, or at least safe, ingredients, the problem is when people don’t know the safe ingredients and mix in something like lemon or irritating essential oils with acidic pineapple, or even with the honey. DIY *can* be dangerous. I now use regular skincare, but I have seen benefits from honey before and would use honey on my face again. I've also used eggs and, well, I get why people say most DIY skincare doesn’t work, lol

I don’t think Cassandra “condemned” them, just basically said they don’t really do much, good or bad. Do you think they did something to your skin, or just that they didn’t cause problems?
Lol I remember a kid show about detectives teaching me that lemon juice and sun can effing dangerous. I was 5. HOW DOES A WOMAN WHO WENT TO MEDICAL SCHOOL NOT KNOW???
I think this is a great example of the problem with the dermatologist worship going on in the online skincare world. People regularly blindly listen to anyone who's a derm while also condemning anyone who would dare share any skin care info or advice without being a derm themselves. Well here ya go, not all derms are created equal and dermatological advice is not a monolith or consistent across all dermatologists. Just because someone has a title you like does not mean everything they say is sacred or beyond reproach.
Sparkles is over here talking about DIY skin care not containing preservatives and keeping in the fridge but my concern is the possible mold and other nastiness that can grow inside that DIY mask. Preservatives are better on the skin then mold and bacteria are anyday

Cassandra I'm curious what you use as a sweetener rather than honey. I have a major sweet tooth, and I'm trying to use less sugar but still be environmentally and ethically conscious as possible. Any recommendations? I hate the taste of stevia 😖
I know she uses agave syrup and vanilla extract, and personally I buy a synthetic sugar called Erithrytol that tastes just like sugar, but actually has fiber content! Not sure how that works, but it's sugar free i guess lol 😇
@@juliagreen423 thanks for the response! I was using agave for a while but then when I was doing some research it didn't appear to be much of a healthier alternative to sugar due to its extremely high fructose content. I will have to look into erythritol, I have never heard of that before! Vanilla is a good idea, and I know some people use maple syrup as a sweetener so I might have to start trying those options out more when possible.
@@pacey5980 @Pace B I guess the agave is a great substitute for honey if you're not worried about sugar content, but as far as getting the sweetness without the sugar, I'm with you on Stevia tasting weird! Erithrytol is pretty great, I've been using it for a couple weeks to sweeten my tea, and it tastes, looks, and substitutes just like sugar!! I buy bags of it from Costco, if that's available in your area 🥰
I also despise stevia >.< I've heard good things about Monk Fruit as a sweetener. Apparently it tastes sweeter than suger but doesn't spike insulin or whatever. I've never purchased it seperately but I did try a chocolate bar sweetened with it and it was delicious.
Jesus those people are so cringe and obnoxious. This appeals to the lowest common denominator. I would be terrified and hate to be around a person that's actually a fan of a show like this.

I won't recommend but in the past I did a mask mixing turmeric powder, sandalwood powder and sunflower oil for a quick brightening effect. It helped, turmeric does stains the face so either using it in little quantity or keeping the mask for short while is what I did. I did apply moisturizer and sunscreen after that. Usually did it before a family gathering or occassion and totally never touched it for more than 6 years now.
I was wondering, does avocado + olive oil combination actually work?? I used to use this combination a while ago but I'm not sure if it's really effective.
It could possibly help if you have very dry skin - but olive oil isn’t the best option if you are prone to breakouts. The is because olive oil is high in oleic acid. Oleic acid can make dermatitis and acne worse.

Where was she contradicting herself?
Gurl..u look glamorous today 🔥
Cassandra you look flawless!!😍
This is exactly why I don't fully "trust the experts" and roll my eyes every time someone tells me to "see a derm with that"...I had so many dermatologists recommend bs to me that went horribly wrong, caused permanent damage or did nothing at all. I think there should always be a middle ground, listen to the derm, but don't believe EVERYTHING they say. Try and see how it works, but don't force it if it doesn't.
If financially possible, it's best to get multiple opinions and looking for doctors who also publish in medical journals, they're close to the actual scientific research.
@@saraha8276 nobody in my country does such a thing xD im not from US
Love that jewellery Cass!
🤣👍
In India we have two types of turmeric one is used in food and other one is used for skincare it's use in Ubtan (kind of exfoliator) and it didn't stain face but has properties of turmeric. The one that stain your skin is food turmeric
It's called Mango ginger
I love you 😄 This is such great production work! Congrats babe! ❤ you
and I've been using teabags under my eyes for years! 😂 It's so good
and I LOVE that you talked about honey bees 🐝
I mean, hey, there isnt any proof that any of them actually went to medical school, let alone having become a "dermatologist" (Just saying Lol).
Lemon is not an acid, it's acidic. There's a huge difference. Not wanting to be nitpicky but I love your content, and I believe it should be accurate!
People have citric allergy
Yeah it's acidic, and it contains citric acid which is why lemon's PH is 2 and it sensitizes the skin
it contains an acid which is also one variation of the definition of an acid
I'm not saying it's safe for skin, I'm saying it is not an acid. If you want to educate, it's important to use the right terms. Simple as that
I remember doing the honey test once and it worked with clearing up acne scars. I didn't use any other different product while using it because I wanted to see if the hype was real and it worked, took like 3 months LMAO but yeah... Also, you can buy honey from small family businesses. They will offer you the best natural honey while taking care of the bees. Don't demonise everything...
There are products that are formulated with honey that can be used as well. A lot of derms would recommend that as opposed to using the regular honey.
Sparkles: We keep favorite foods in our fridges
Red dress: not this gal! Just Rosé for me!! I’m so relatable, I don’t actually eat, I only drink rosé 🙄🙄
Cass going off was the highlight of my day❤️
I love watching these videos doing my skincare routine
Honestly as someone who's been practicing skin care for years....the egg yolks have been fine. Don't understand why they were condemned here ..
I don’t think Cassandra “condemned” them, just basically said they don’t really do much, good or bad. Do you think they did something to your skin, or just that they didn’t cause problems?
I keep imagining this panel if Dr Dray was on it! LOL
She's absolutely right when she says that it can be fun. But everything else shw says is a bunch of bananas that has dried out in the sun. Yikes
Lol I remember a kid show about detectives teaching me that lemon juice and sun can effing dangerous. I was 5. HOW DOES A WOMAN WHO WENT TO MEDICAL SCHOOL NOT KNOW???
THANK YOU for this video ☺️😁❤️🤩 I'll be sharing it.
That woman is gonna end up with no friends if she keeps trying to put egg on their faces 😭
🤣
I think this is a great example of the problem with the dermatologist worship going on in the online skincare world. People regularly blindly listen to anyone who's a derm while also condemning anyone who would dare share any skin care info or advice without being a derm themselves. Well here ya go, not all derms are created equal and dermatological advice is not a monolith or consistent across all dermatologists. Just because someone has a title you like does not mean everything they say is sacred or beyond reproach.
Whatever they recommend should really be evidence-based.
Dr Shareene Idriss uses the tea bag trick and egg white on her face too.
Sparkles is over here talking about DIY skin care not containing preservatives and keeping in the fridge but my concern is the possible mold and other nastiness that can grow inside that DIY mask. Preservatives are better on the skin then mold and bacteria are anyday
Hi Cassandra ! I am ur follower / subscriber since u those acne days 🤣🤣🤣 til one day i miss ur vlogs and search ur name . Found out u are already a Yoga instructor ! I love it!
And congrats to ur million followers!
I am floored by your voice went up at 12:01 😂😂😂😂
You can tell the energy by watching them that you wouldn't wanna be in that conversation!!
They all know what they actually do and none of those recommendations they ever used on them.
Pretty sure got the derm certification doing under the table study lol
Oh I think the sparkly shirt actually does/recommends that! She was so passionate! One seemed okay with it, three seemed pretty opposed to the idea. You definitely wouldn’t want to be in that conversation, it felt so passive aggressive with the disagreement lol
CASSANDRA WHEN I SAY I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SINCE THAT VIDEO ABOUT CRINGY 2020 SKINCARE
You look gorgeous here sorry I just had to put that out there 😂😂😍😍
Cassandra I'm curious what you use as a sweetener rather than honey.
@@juliagreen423 thanks so much! I looked into it and it sounds really interesting, I'm definitely going to give it a try ☺️👍🏻
Bro… please guys don’t listen to sparkly shirt 😭😭😭
Ava Shamban
I would prefer a derm that is also a chemist but those are rare. That's a lot of studying
Love you Cass! My FairyGlowMother
wanna hear something funny a dermatologist told me and my sisters when we were younger.. that any “toner” or “liquid exfoliate” is just a waste of time and money and that you don’t need it. 🙃 i literally cannot stand so many dermatologists. i swear they truly don’t kno crap about acne and will look at your face for 20 seconds, then prescribe a bunch of pills for you to take. it’s ridiculous!!!
I think it depends? I have dry skin, so I don't use a toner because it's drying
@@sophiam.1625 Toners are not drying. There is lots of toners with moisturising ingredients such as glicols, betaine, gliceryn, aloe or hialuronic acid. The clue is to use in on wet skin and then just pat it into the skin with your hands and then close with cream on wet skin.
@@everlasting7thheaven South Korea is booming nowadays of toners.
@@visualbeauty3427 I live in Poland but yeah I know :P I am sure in every country it is possible to find good moisturising toners you just have to look and know how to read INCI
@@everlasting7thheaven Yeah that makes sense with the cream. I don't use a toner anyway because I find that the more products I use on my skin, the worse it gets
Can u tell me your thoughts on the Tula sunscreen?? Your opinion is so legit!
That combo would work for rlly dry skin but personally prefer avocado and olive fruit extract thn oil
More importantly, it tastes great!
Thet don’t necessarily do much other than moisturise, like other comments have said, but at least those ingredients are not bad for skin either.
Cass, can you help me? What are some good products for maturing dry skin with cystic acne, hyperpigmentation and scarring? My beloved sister is ready to venture into the skincare realm and she asked me to help her create a routine. She’s ready for us!!! 🖤🥔🦋
If she doesn't see your comment (& if you haven't before) you should try following her on Amazon (the link is in the description I think). She goes live over there and since the views are a lot less you can actually interact and ask her questions in the chat and she's more likely to see them! 😁🦋
@@leonalearns thank so much for the tip! I’m there already! 🥔🦋🖤 I asked her on the last one but it was at the very end and the feed was over. Cass is the best when it comes to answering questions and interacting with her online community! 💯
There are also a lot of channels dedicated to mature skin as well.
How’s it going, did you manage to create her a skincare routine? :)
I love how all of them go “that’s hilarious” and don’t laugh once 😂
Some people are allergic to almost ALL coconut derivatives, caprylic triglycerides included, as well as caprylyl glycol and other ingredients. Allergies to camomile, lavender, tomato, etc,. It's been super hard to find skincare that doesn't irritate my skin, not to mention my skin sensitivities to the levels of chlorine in TAP water. That said. I would NEVER do DIY skincare, not unless The Ordinary counts lol
Love the lady with fancy necklace.
Ngl, I enjoyed listening to them. They have different personalities which are kinda fun and they're also informative.
I was hoping someone commented this. I hope someone has but I couldn't find it. Indians have two kinds of turmeric, one which is used for cooking and the other in skincare. Also turmeric powder for cooking must never be used on skin. :3 I am terribly allergic to turmeric. I can eat it but it's a no no on skin! I get allergies and rashes!
Food goes in your mouth, not on the face 🙄
Yooooo Sparkly shirt is wild!! Clearly the mask is potent! salmonella has clearly seeped into her brains! 🤭
I knew a kid who got horrible blisters all over his arms and chest because of drinking margaritas on the beach. He spilled a few drinks on himself and the sun just baked the lime juice into his skin. He ended up going to the hospital and looked like a comic book villain for months.
You are AMAZING!! 😊😊
My daughter and I were just discussing this. She has sensitive skin and keeps trying food masks 🤦🏽♀️
Sooo?! 🤷♀️
I think she just doing this video to make people stop using natural masks
Look at her videos allllllll of them just about adds for face products 😏
For me this video could be resumed in this 10:16 if there’s some kind of food that have something that can help with your skin, eat it. It’s going to be way more effective that way than by putting on your face
I live in Seychelles and here there are not that many good skin care products so I don't have many options that's why I DIY but benzoyl peroxide is available here also don't have any dermatologist here
Oh no 🤤
"Fridge to Face" ... hold for laughter.
Please review Somi’s skincare routine !!
cassandra, i have to disagree with you... playing monopoly is not fun. hahahah
Used matcha powder on my face and had horrible dermatitis bumps for 3 days straight. Forgot that happened and 3 years later used matcha powder again (I know -_-) same thing happened but worse. I drink it all the time and feel great with no issues.
I remember trying out damp teabags under my eyes when I was a teenager. I ended up having an allergic reaction! 😭
My god that show looks so fake... those laughs.. they clearly don't get along with each other and it shows.
I know this question isnt related to the video, but ive been trying to find an answer online, and i cant! Please help.
Can teens use microcurrent devices? Im 16 and would like to use one if its safe for me.
Anyone who is interested in using tea bags please be aware - most teabags are not biodegradable! Please try to find a biodegradable option or use loose leaf tea and cheese cloth or another type of reusable fabric instead ☺️🌿🍃🍂
Does the tumeric staining eventually fade ? Or is it permanent
I can't imagine it being permanent. When it gets on the hands it fades away after a couple of washes, so it's probably the same on the face.
Yes it fades, it can’t be permanent unless you inject it as deep as a tattoo. It’s like using a pen/ink on the skin, it either fades or over time when your top layer of skin sheds and renews, the new skin doesn’t have anything on it anymore.
Can you use makeup after using the ordinary peeling solution???
The peel is supposed to be used at night so if you're using makeup the next day, it should be fine.
Oooh so can i use the ordinarys caffeine serum on my whole face???
Definitely! 👍
In my opinion of course because it has amazing antioxidants that your whole face may benefit from. + i think dr Dray recommended it for the whole face also 😊
And the grainy coffee can be used to exfoliate the skin
Make sure it is organic
@@timzstr DONT DO THAT
