A lot of the older stuff, i.e.: Mayhem, Darkthrone, etc., is really neat in the way that its got a lot of that old school bedroom demo, but also upholds a good chunk of melody. I'd recommend Darkthrone's Panzerfaust, which has very heavy Celtic Frost influence. Also Ulver's Bergtatt is super dope with lots of melodic elements. Just a couple of older recommendations, less polished, and feels more believable 😅🔥 keep it heavy, brother!

They are excellent musicians, and Abbath Doom Occulta has a great voice for black metal, I understand he’s no longer with the band. This lyrics of this particular song wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but that doesn’t take away from their musicianship. And before all the black metal fans go off the deep end, chill, I’m just expressing my opinion of one song, not the band itself. 😉 🤟🏻❤️🦇

@@TheMetalMixtape I’ve been around for a minute! Actually quite a few minutes 😉. I’ve always loved music, especially beginning in high school when my boyfriend was a drummer in a band. I was also friends with a music promoter and his wife when I lived in the Detroit area, which is where I grew up. His sisters had a band originally called the Pleasure Seekers, that came from a book title, and they later changed it to Cradle. They were seen by Mickie Most, an English record producer back in the day, and he started managing Suzi, their bass player’s solo career. He also produced many hit singles for acts such as the Animals, Herman's Hermits, the Nashville Teens, Donovan, Lulu, Suzi Quatro, Hot Chocolate, Arrows, Racey and the Jeff Beck Group. He had his own label, RAK Records and released many of their hit songs. Cradle disbanded and sister Patti joined Fanny, they were one of the first all-female rock groups to achieve critical and commercial success, including two Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 singles. Later the GoGo’s, Bangles and Runaways said they were key influences for their groups. I will save the rest of my sort of unusual musical journey until you’re ready for the whole thing. 😉

This is more like "extreme" heavy metal. Check out their first album instead.

@@TheMetalMixtape the black metal music was never meant to be the most "brutal/extreme" in a musical way when the Norwegian ressurection happened. It was first meant as a rebellion/contradiction to the more and more boring death metal and it was meant to be DARK and inspired by 80s PRIMIITIVE bands like Bathory and Hellhammer/Celtic Frost. The first Immortal (and Darktrone-A blaze.. and Under a funeral moon) are exceptional examples of this midset..(greetings from Norway..)
