“Normal times before trump”

@@yeeaahBUDDY Exactly! People trying to make it a "gotcha" moment are really dumb and should know Bill hates shit like that. Also, Pelosi has strongly condemned the insurrection on Jan 6th as often as she can. Spare me the Mitch McConnell BS. His words are as empty as ever.
A less than 1 minute Google search shows so many speeches and statements given by Pelosi. Here's the first two I saw:
"The fact is, the president of the United States committed an act of incitement of insurrection. When the violent assault was made on the Capitol, its purpose was to thwart Congress's Constitutional duty to validate the electoral count and to ensure the peaceful transfer of power."
"The Capitol and those who work within it were targeted by insurrectionists seeking not only to attack the building, but to undermine democracy itself."
McConnell could care less which team he's playing for. He should also paint him self green and wear a tortoise shell for Halloween.
The Mitch McConnell twist paired with the crowd reaction was too perfect, 😂 😂 😂. People need to check their own biases before moving on a reaction!
True, but it's hard to watch a moment of sanity from McConnell when you know it will only be that ... a moment.

Nobody knows what Crispus Attucs said but it set up the frame for horror stories and movies in later history. 😐

This is exactly what I thought too. Maher has recently become a Republican darling. This is a ratings game. HBO loves that his show is now rating high among the culture war Conservative Right. It's all about the dollars. I don't believe for one minute he believes a word of what he said.
@@user-wb5ml2mw6h The fuck are you talking about? Although Maher is a classical liberal, he’s still pretty moderate for many things. Nothing he’s saying here is extremely one sided. If this is bordering on too extreme for you, when it comes to conservativeness, then you’re feeding the toxic and counterproductive culture of extremist and identity politics. Dan Crenshaw recently said that the fact people see him as a moderate Republican is downright shocking. He’s extremely conservative, yet the party has been in a downward vortex for years now and stated he thinks the party is doomed. We need a functioning Republican Party in the country or else we’re all fucked. Can’t you see that? He poked fun at republicans during this whole monologue anyway. It’s also worth mentioning that pointing out problems in your own party doesn’t mean you’re a “Republican darling” or that you hate it, it means you want to expose the issues that can help make it flourish more. Hi Bill, I like the idea... However if you want to get into good people's grace's don't call them poorly educated on the get-go.

He never said they were poorly educated, the Trump clip said that. Bill only said they "didn't go to college"
You gotta love this guy!
Excellent message, even if you contradict yourself while saying it.
The idea that not having college education equals being poorly educated can only come from a mind poorly educated.
Except two things: the group that were the most taken in by Trump's con, who bought into his idiotic lunacy, were white men w/o college. Not black or Asian or Hispanic men w/o college, just white men. So it's not smarts or education, it's something else. Second, the group that was least likely to fall for Trump's lies, the most reality-based if you will, were highly educated people. So while HVAC or masonry training teaches you to think, as does a philosophy college course, and both require smarts, the former is clearly more narrow than the latter.

I love this thought, but they’re all salesmen. We need a clean slate, ban lobbyists, ban officials from trading in the market (I believe in free market, but these people get incredible insight while the rest of us suffer), and we need to start electing people into office that actually give a dam about the office and the voters.
I would complete submit if the president and Vice President can out and apologized to each other, and the rest of America. Then held try to their words after that.
We elect the people in office. This is who we are. Not a very impressive race of creatures. Sometimes the easiest answer is the correct answer.
First and foremost, we need to ban corporations and the rich, on both sides, from financing elections. They should be Federally funded, limited in time and scope, and be given equal and free tv time. British elections take six weeks; here, the minute you get elected, you have to start raising money for the next election.
@@zanichbug Wow, you've packed a lot of misunderstanding into a few sentences. Comparing us to the UK is just silly. They have one national election where they vote for an MP. We essentially have three. We vote for a president, two senators, and a representative. When most people gripe about federal funding or how long campaigns drag on, they're almost always talking about presidential elections, and at best senate elections. They are never talking about congressional elections because most people aren't even aware that they are happening. That's why so few people show up for midterms. There is so little campaigning actually happening that they couldn't even tell you who's running. MTG, for example, didn't win because she spent the most money or because her opponent didn't get free TV time. She won because she's a bigot and mobilized enough of the crazies in the backward district in which she lives to turn up in the primaries. She won the primary with 43,892 votes. U.S. congressional districts consist, on average, of 700,000 people. You really really really need to think about that. Once she won the primary with only 44K votes, it was a fait accompli that she would be speaking for 700K people in congress. Our particular electoral system is fundamentally flawed. The problem is first past the post elections. The problem is congressional districts. The problem is the existence of the office of the presidency and the senate. Your suggestions would do absolutely nothing to fix any of the fundamental problems. If you can't see that, if you're not fighting to fix that, you're part of the problem. Proportional representation is the only solution to these problems.
