My grandmother (who passed away 10 years ago) was from the Carpathian mountains in Ukraine and my mom was so happy to hear her dialect of Ukrainian again. Thank you so much for sharing!!
@@chaist94 yes!! Some of the words my grandmother used and passed down to my mom are a unique mix of Polish and Ukrainian. For example, she had us call her Babchi as compared to Babushka. She was born in the area when it was still Poland, but she always considered herself Ukrainian with a love for Poland
My grandmother as well Dohve, Zarcapatia Oblesk (Doha, when in the Hungarian times, when she was born. She spoke a Carpathian Rusyn in the home, prayers for the region, May peace come now
This is what I like about this vlogger couple. They don't check in on some fancy, expensive accommodations. They go to places which is not on the radar and they also feature some hidden gems from places which I haven't heard until now. My salute to Mike and Eva!
This landscape is so dreamy, the food looks so delicious, and what a lovely Ukrainian couple. Thank you Eva for showing us this side of Ukraine & this side of life.
I'm thankful to God for this day and watching your videos... Actually I'm a tourist guide in Papua but because of the situation right now and no many tourists for visit Papua. I hope will be fine again and back to travel around Papua. Now I moved to the forest and stay at my cabin farm... So happy to know your channel
Wow, the nature looks really amazing. Baba Olja is hilarious. She looks like a typical slavic grandma who will not take no for an answer when you say you're not hungry. "Treba jest!" 😂 Thanks for the video Eva! Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you for this video! I'm from South Ukraine and it was the most important travel in my life when I visit Carpathians first time and it was the moment when I realized that I'm Ukrainian.
my grandfather & grandma came from the mountains of Galicia (Carpathians of Western Ukrainian) after WW1 & homestead in Eastern Saskatchewan 🇨🇦 around Yorkton . I moved to the 🇨🇦Rocky Mountains because it feels this environment is part of my deepest dna Your video reminds me of the 1960s -1970s as a child & my visits to our family's Ukrainian /Canadian farm, so down to earth ❤️🙏
I was trying to see where my family comes from in the Carpathian Mountains. So nice to see Eva, whom I’ve been watching travel America, is here exploring and sharing her experience with us. Wow my family’s from a beautiful place. Thanks for showing to me Eva 😀

As a American citizen from Wisconsin who has grown up working in Dairy farming I say thank you for this video. WI is Americas largest dairy producing state. Yes here in the US dairy is heavily regulated and must be Pastorized if sold in big markets. Some stated allow for Raw milk sales with special certificates and inspection. Here in WI we have faught fot the right yo buy and sell raw milk. This Ukrainian family is an example of what WI looked like pre Industry farming, before WWII. I happen to have a favorite milk cow that I make yogurt and cheese with. Lots of people Homestead here and live simple.
I have been watching your videos since couple months ago. And, I just loved the way you are enjoying life that many people are actually dreaming of. You seemed to have been to every part of the world. Keep on enjoying the life, inspiring us. May god bless you.

I've so enjoyed your trips to the Carpathian Mountains region. My father came from the area around Ivano-Frankivsk, though in his time I believe it was called Stanisławów. So many stories he told of life on the family farm there. Your video's brought back those memories. Thanks for sharing your experience! Добре здоров'я!
