What would you do if someone you didn't know invited you, via email, to stay in their house in a remote village in Transylvania? I don't know about you, but I accepted the invitation, of course! 😂 This is the story of a very brave woman (not me!), and what happens when you go off the tourist trail. I am happy that you are promoting Romania. The country really deserves it. My (Polish) wife and I (Saxon) and our children like it very much. After the tourist hotspots, we would like to get to know the still wild and untouched Romania and there is still a lot to discover. Thank you Eva and lots of courage for the future. Oh my wht a big science :))) this people are in Roumania from. Bavaria region of Germany and they have been taking here even czezch people we have villlges the same Like Viscri because in ROUMANIA we respect minorities

As an Overlander completly in love with Romania, i always take the small roads to end up in these villages especially the ones thay are close to the mountains. Romania is incredibe.

I live in Transylvania, I consider this part, the most beautiful side of the country. All kind of people come here to visit, but I am happy to see that travellers like you, who is not afraid to discover the people's life beyond the postcards, keep coming here aswell. I hope you had a magical time in Romania.

I was there more than 10 years ago but I loved saxon areas of romania ....and whole transilvania... Architecture in these villages is so great. Even small ones.
I want to live this kind of tourism. To feel welcomed.

I'm new to your channel. I was stunned to discover an actual village in which no one locks their doors or cars. It's utopia - a world in which no one locks doors, no one needs to live in fear. Still having a hard time wrapping my head around this. But glad I saw it.

Usually on the country side, we, as Romanians, don't lock the doors. The feeling of being safe and happy, along with the entire community you are living in, saying hello, knowing them all as a family in our heart, is what we are calling " Romanian heart/soul".

Edith reminds me of my childhood just a few villages away from her place. It just looks alike and the traditional clothes just gave me the chills, as did her singing. Like her daughter, I live in Hamburg... maybe my mom even knows them. Would love to return to Transylvania my „Siebenbürgen, süße Heimat“, one beautiful day.
There is something about Edith’s voice that is so soothing. I could listen to her voice reading a story and drift to sleep.
ooooh... my heart. I miss these dirt roads and warmness of heart that I have met in Romania. Also, this is a fascinating story about Transylvanian Saxons. What a wonderful lady!!

It's the kind of village I would seek out to visit. I grew up in a touristy town in Alaska. The best adventures are on the road less traveled.:)

Transylvania it's beautiful. You can see Siebenbürger Sachsen culture influence everywhere. Too bad many of the German population had to leave Romania, but hopefully some of them will return home.

Yes, I agree: the difference between a tourist and a traveler: a tourist will see the famous sights and check the boxes, whereas a traveler will wander around, meeting the local people, and gaining life experiences. Actually, I prefer a little bit of each, but with more time as a traveler.

@@Publibi Most Romanian people speak English, its because we get english speaking movies and they are not dubbed in Romanian, but do have a subtitle in Romanian, so it makes learning it very easy for the enthusiasts of learning a foreign language.
