    To note.....thanks to US Marine Corps training - wet clothes, including your shoes/boots, dry better on top of your closed sleeping bag. If you keep them inside your bag, the moisture can't evaporate. So get inside your bag, lay your shoes/boots first, then your wet jacket, pants, socks, etc over them. Even with being layered, they all will dry. Clothes on top helps hold the footwear on the bag, and all should be dry by morning. Simple body heat escaping through the bag fabric does the trick :)

    • @devildog80
      @devildog80 Месяц назад +2

      @@melytlalli187 Your wet clothes will be layed out over the outside of your sleeping bag, smaller items directly on your bag first, then larger items like coat/jacket over them, will keep the smaller items from sliding off. Your body heat from inside the bag radiates up through the wet clothes, evaporating the moisture out of them while you sleep, and you are dry inside the bag. You can turn, move around inside the bag, and everything drying on top acts as another layer of insulation. They will stay in place well enough, to dry overnight.........as long as you are protected from any added moisture such as rain or snow. You need to be inside somewhere, such as a simple tent, cave, protection from the elements of some kind, to keep yourself dry and the clothes will dry.

    These simple video stories, just a girl and her dog spending time alone have become my favorites. Maybe it’s the dog lover in me, maybe they remind me of my own loyal companions over the years, and how much they brightened my life even during the longest, dampest, gray winters. The simplicity of purpose, to just walk, and make camp for the night, and do it again the next day. You and Vilk are a heartwarming medicine for the soul. You just know how to put it all together in a way that lingers in my mind well after it’s over. There’s a timeless quality to these videos, from the natural elements, the pacing, the perfectly matched-to-the-moment musical soundtrack, the more personal, up close conversations as we walk with you and Vilk, tagging along as invited guests, and the grand aerial views that wrap the whole story up in a beautiful cinematic resolution, to use a musical reference. These are all elements that make a simple story into a beautiful poem.
    Just more of you and Vilk. He is a quiet, steady presence. It’s been lovely watching him grow up these last two years. Remember, though, that time flies by, and our best friends’ years are far too short. Live every moment fiercely, just as you are doing. And continue to share these little glimpses of the bond you two share in this life. All the best. And a big hug for that boy.

It allows you to bring your camera in, they immediately repair it or give you a new one, till yours is repaired, or replaced. You've earned that status. As far as your trip, the wind rain, and the cold, is no joke. In spite of your camera going down, your trip videos an impressive self critique. Why do I need to do this. With an analysis both the good reasons, the doubts, and the courage to continue, to your goal. Our mind is our greatest foe, that you learn to live life with. Bring sturdy regular plastic bags, put on dry socks, put bags over, put on shoes. Also, pull out footbeds and sleep with them too, and open the shoes as much as possible. If you have access to newspaper or butcher paper, stuff that into the shoes and change it a couple times. If the shoes are sealable, invest the time to do it before the trip. I like walking too and while I do have clothes that are good down to -65 F (with the wind chill) I did have to build a walking coat for the rain and snow. The coat itself resembles a cross between a western duster and a Great Russian Coat. I has a hood and four pockets (two inside and to outside). It is a double layered coat. Th outer layer is polar fleece and the inner layer is a gortex-like material that makes the whole thing pretty much water proof and wind resistant. The only real problem with it is that if the wind catches it it can act like a parachute that will make walking difficult.

No actual dying, but rather four clear seasons at best. Nature withdrow to take coming winter. First snow and first frost. Days shortened till 21. December. Without snow darkness increased day by day. So, I need more snow and along with more light. So simple! Some decades ago we have clearly four seasons, which was nice. Nowadays only in northern half of our fine land! So climat change is somehow advancing, which is so pity and shame!

    Uwielbiam morze poza sezonem.

    As I watched this I wondered if I could do something like that where I live. I'm about 50 miles from the Ocean in the state of Oregon (just north of California) USA. I checked and yes! There is a trail all the way along the Oregon coast. You've inspired me and I think I'll try it. I've always been an outdoor kind of girl and this would be awesome. Since I'm now 71 years old, I'll do it in short sections, not all at once, and stay in hotels. It would do me some good.

  • @robertfrye5161

    I am commenting as I am watching. The other reason for this hike is you needed a mind reset after the encounter on your land. You went to a place of good memories to start to get you in the mood. As for hiking on a cold, rainy day, yeah that sucks, but it was a distraction you needed as well as 12 hours of sleep. I have done hard mental resets a few times. You accomplished your goal, that is all that matters.

    Wow, this is so impressive. I hiked from Kołobrzeg eastwards this summer, in good weather, sunshine and comfortly sleeping at campsites (wild camping is not allowed there).
    I originally started in Świnoujście the year before. The Polish coast is amazing, I can only encourage people to visit. It is beautiful, clean, safe, great infrastructure, and the food is amazing.
    Ofcourse the Baltic Sea is different in November, a real challenge.
    It was great to see the landscape in autumn, in harsh conditions. Props to you and Vilk. And especially to you carrying this heavy backbag. I know you are very athletic and strong and have a great mindset - but still that was quite an adventure.

    The weather was definitely challenging, but a bit of better equipment could have made it more bearable. For weather like this, I usually wear neoprene socks. Most of the time, they keep my feet dry, and if not, they at least keep my feet warm. I also wear good rain gear, so I usually stay dry underneath. There is nothing worse on a hike than being wet and, therefore, more cold.
