Hace muchos años, sentado en el metro, frente a mi, una persona que creí reconocer como Andrés godoy. Le pregunté y me confirmó; el mismo que viste y calza. Nos fuimos conversando un par de estaciones. Quizás el se bajó con total normalidad, en cambio, en mi camino a casa me acompañó la hermosa sensación de haber compartido palabras con uno de los mayores talentos musicales de chile y una persona de gran humildad y sabiduría

@ You play pretty god guitar. Tapping on the Strings like Marc Swofford worked. You can do this on a Solid body electric Guitar too.
Well to play two handed you would have to be a decently accomplished player. But it is commonplace for an above average player. For one handed it's out of sight.
When I see people like this, I really feel that human beings have infinite possibilities. It gives me courage and hope to live my days while making excuses. It even creates the illusion that the invisible right hand looks really real. There was a time when Eric Clapton was called the Gotthand, and this person should definitely be named for it. The lacrimal gland collapses naturally while getting drunk with a deep and comfortable sound that deeply touches my heart...

You have inspired me Andre´s. I survived a stroke which left me control of only the left side of my body. I played guitar and now I will play again. I am watching this video over and over again to try to learn your technique. I haven't picked up a guitar in 12 years and I am more excited now than ever.

Sorry to revive such an old comment, but while I'm in a different situation here, I'm on the same journey. Between 2000 and 2014 I had 5 heart attacks, died once, numerous other health challenges, financial ruin, spouse left me, the whole enchilada. But before that, I was active in the arts and was learning guitar. After 5 years of healing I've graduated college with a degree in theatre, sing, perform at a community and amateur level, am fluent on guitar, piano and bass, learned music theory and composition up to 4th species counterpoint and am writing my own music (not like this ... yet! ;) ), started a small nonprofit that brings the arts to disadvantaged communities, and have begun a professional career as an actor, at 50. My battered old ticker lept when I read your post. Steve, I hope that your journey has been more than you could imagine. It is so hard to come back from health challenges. It wasn't until quite recently that all those frustrating, depressing, lonely moments, where I wanted to give up because my abilities had changed, were doing more than I could have ever dreamed. It was a crucible. I was so busy trying to recreate where I was before nature changed the rules I failed to see that, even after it all, the possibility of a brighter future never crossed my mind. I wandered into it, and thankfully so. Most sincerely, and all the best, sir. I hope all is well.

Hold on a fucking second here, I've been playing guitar for 15 years and I'd have trouble playing this with both hands... This guy's technique is amazing. And how much emotion he conveys in his playing... I am at a loss for words.

I believe nurses in the hospital should have a playlist of such videos, things that people can do without two hands, feet, arms or legs and how and show them to patients after or even before amputations so that not some of them have to figure out things on their own, some stumble on ideas about how to do things and some just resolve to live without what their did before or want to try.

I just realised, for anyone that might be wondering, that mr. Godoy is using a Capo on his first fret, moving the frets by one, but the tuning of the guitar is E-A-D-g-b-e, so standard E tuning, which means that his tuning without the capo is E-Flat (Eb) Standard, a half step down. Very smart indeed, especially for live shows, since many songs have the guitar tuned a half step down to E Flat. Modern guitarists that i'm at least aware of, such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Nuno Bettencourt use Eb Tuning often.
