- I test 4 games that requires in some parts a very strong cpu, so here I will show some cases where cpu can keep 60fps at ultra settings.
Keep in mind that these are extreme scenarios, where we get the 100% of cpu usage.
PC specs:
I5 2400 @3.6Ghz (every core)
GTX 970 @1500Mhz core
Kingston HyperX blu 2x4 @1866Mhz
Asrock Pe67 Pro3

Yes an i5 2400 will bottleneck the GTX 970 however it isn't a substantial bottleneck, if you want a CPU that won't bottleneck but still uses the 1155 socket then buy an i7 2600.
I tried a 2600k, was crap even compared to the I5 2400. Then again could have been the chipset, or motherboard,
Not bad bought my brother a 2400 going to get a LGA 1155 mobo...this should tide him over a few years.

HEYNOW - 3.6 ghz on all cores just Rocks !! I also when playing hit 100 % cpu usage , butt when I upgraded to 16gb awhile back - really helped & stopped the stutters and pauses. Thanx for posting your motherboard, gona look into it. Peace.
One more thing , it's rare that a game makes a CPU hit 100% ..... butt Witcher 3 ( Novigrad city ) & Rise of tomb raider with all eye candy turned up can sometimes do it. : /
Which software did you use to display the on screen overlay in the top left? Doesn't look like MSI afterburner.

Hey dude. I saw the video and I would like to know your conclusions. I can get this CPU along with gigabyte h67m for 90$, so I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. My GPU is 680 GTX. Any tips?

Buy a motherboard with the LGA1155 socket. It doesn't really matter as long as it supports your RAM, CPU, and GPU.

+Arthur A (artxays) the graphic card is 99% loaded too and future games will be more demanding for video cards too. U will change the pc parts over and over again, but for now in my opinion this cpu/video card setup is great.

+Arthur A (artxays) Yes is worth to buy it, but in some cpu demanding games you will need to put some effects to high in order to keep solid 60fps. These titles are most intensive that I have found to do this video.
Also if you have a better cpu I would recommend the R9 390.

Dude I am kinda bad with pc stuff so mind helping me? I have an i5 2400 and 8gb ram so if I get the 970 will I be able to run games highest settings like 60 fps? Or do I need a more powerful processor/more ram or anything
As you can see in the video, A gtx 970 with an i5 2400 and 8gb will be able to achieve great framerates at high settings 1080p.
Make sure your power supply can handle the new GPU. If this is some office mini ATX build that you bought at a store . You are going to have to change the PSU and probably gut it out and put it all in a bigger case.

Save your money and buy a used GTX970 is good working condition, 1060 is only worth it for 4K gaming or VR, otherwise get a 970, it's cheaper and performs the same if not better on most titles.

yes. my 970 is being help back ALOT by my i5 2400. My gtx 1050 ti performed better.

@Lilia The 750ti / 1050 ti is on the lower end of what this CPU can power, the GTX 970 / GTX 1060 on the higher end of the spectrum. Really the only card that I know of that almost perfectly fits this CPU for 1080p gaming is the R9 380x nitro.
It's kinda dumb that the difference in performance between the 1050ti and the 1060 is so huge (GTX 1060 being almost twice as fast).

+brad Young My motherboard allows to put every core at 38 multiplier ratio, with means 3800Mhz. But when two or more cores are almost fully active the max clock speed is 3600Mhz per core.

If you are not going to overclock it, you are better off just holding off till you do some thing newer.
I have got an asrock p67 extreme4 mobo right now and ocd the i5 2400s(3.2ghz) and I get more points in cnb r11.5 from 4.11 I get right now 5.02

I was able to run the beta with the 2400, 8gb + gtx 970 on high with 75fps stable, but I think the 750 ti will struggle even on low. Hopefully they'll allow a 7 day trial like they have for bf4 so you can test it out.
It will run it fine. I ran on a Core 2 Quad, with Gt 720 video card and it ran on medium at 30fps. Not the best frame rate but was playable.

+HammerGamingHD Yeah, the 960 will bottleneck less than the gtx 970. About the life time of the cpu, it probably will depend by the optimization of DirectX12, which it will require less CPU usage. But if you're thinking to buy that cpu, I wouln't recommend it.

This is a terrible video, you didn't even change the dependent variable, so there might be a bottleneck, you never know if you only use 1 cpu.
You can know, look at percentage of GPU usage.
