- My Mazda Bongo gets its new coat of paint, and is put back together enough for me to get it home. I'll need to cut back and mop the paint, but that'll be done on my driveway.
Huge thanks to Jason at JRP Resprays for the excellent work he has done.

Good job buddy. Love the dedication to keep the old girl going, got to be worth it in the end as I can't remember the last Bongo I saw in North Wales.👍👍
Cheers Dilwyn, they are fast becoming an appreciated classic, I've had it 10 years so will now hopefully last another 10.
Very nice job done there 👏 👍
You sure that's the same van? It looks very snazzy. 😊👍
Looks great 👍
😎🤗well done
The bongo looks amazing now
Cheers 😀
nice job dude.hello from barry island.
You've made it too good to drive 😎
Lucky you getting that 1st class paint job 🤗👍🇮🇪
Too good to let the kids near it 😆
Cheers 🍻
Looking fantastic 👏 👌
That looks MEGA mate !! Cant wait to see more progress !!
Endless hours of mopping now!
@@StevesMachines yea thats the good bit though 😉👍👍
It's looking Good. It looks like it's A Dark Green metal Flake..Nice...
Jet black base, then a layer of clear with green pearl with another clear over the top to seal it off.
@@StevesMachines it's an Awesome paint Job for Sure Sir..great Job ..
Had a old Vauxhall vectra very similar colour think it was called jungle green looks black but green in the sun
Looks amazing. Now all you need to do is match the interior 😊
Thats not going to be easy 😆
great vid mate loved it but what headlights are they please
I believe they are Vauxhall Astra units, I got them off a scrap Bongo so can't be sure. The brackets and grill are modified to make them fit.
What were you driving at the beginning? Didn't know you owned a Talbot Horizon!
I was in my Reliant Robin.
@@StevesMachines Dude... adjust those tappets!
I do need to give them a check, they are quite tappity motors tho.
@@StevesMachines I've only owned one... in a trike! It wasn't that noisy despite being out in the open...
What about the rot underneath/?
No rot under it, we did that for the last MoT.
@@StevesMachines 👍
Please please please tell me where you got those headlights from ? About to get the full respray too 🤙🏽
I believe they are MK3 Vauxhall Astra units, aftermarket "Angel Eyes" but I can't swear to it as they were on a van I had for parts. They are modified to fit, essentially the Bongo brackets cut off the original lights and bonded on.
Thank Steve that's a big help hopefully my bongo ends up looking as slick as yours the front end looks sooooo good mate proper makes it look more modern 👍🏽
It does modernise it doesn't it, had quite a few people ask me what it is and then they are surprised it's 27 years old.
@StevesMachines really looks mint mate just wish you had done a proper walk around on it, deffo 1 of the nicest ones I've seen to be honest Steve 👌🏽
I'll do that when I find time to mop it, been so busy the last few months. Interior us back in and already been to 2 festivals in it 😁
Obviously the painter knows his stuff, so probably preaching to the choir! 😬 however re: crazed bumper, what about Barcoat? Or a thin brush applied Gelcoat (Fibreglass topcoat) then the normal prime and finish? Old celly and solvent 2Pac's are notorious for that reaction (Pet hate 😠) Obviously if you can grab a cheap bumper it's a moot point 🙄 But I thought I'd ask 🤷♂
Yeah it's to keep time and costs down so an unmolested bumper is the blue sky path 😀
mate....you need to finish some projects!
You aren't wrong 🤣
