daniil me Actually, almost all grabs in souls/Bloodborne can be mashed out of to get out of them sooner. Most of these enemies are in open areas such as the bridge before Cleric Beast, area before the graveyard to BSB, and Yhargul before The One Reborn. The only time I could think of them wanting to use this animation would be to skip through the door in the Orphanage but I’m guessing the door’s model is too big to clip through (don’t know if it’s been tested).

Yes, because if you want to compare future segments to your PB - you don't want to count time that is variable i.e. load times. Besided any% is counted in in-game time (IGT) which doesn't count load times anyway.
To add on the previous answer, if you were going for an rta (real time attempt I believe) then you would count load screens and generally avoid quitting out as much as possible. Since BB runs on igt (in game time) loading screens don’t count, and truth be told dist’s timer really doesn’t mean anything since you could just as easily view the igt next to your character profile. It’s more or less there to provide an external view of the igt without doing that

After watching these runs it looks like you could decimate early game bosses with end game gear in an all bosses run. Can’t wait for people to route that out.
Why even spend time collecting the twin blood Stone shards and killing the scurrying Beast to get the blood Stone chunks when you're not using them to upgrade your weapon anyway??

When the phase transitions occur the physical model for rom gets teleported to the next location, and if you're in the right spot his body will actually push you forward which is what happened here.
IDK about the madman's knowledge, but i quess it's for the weapon upgrade. And about killing Rom with molotov it's because he doesn't want to die from spiders and yeeting molotov is faster than clearing them 2nd time :)

The catch is: this is only(almost) wolf that has necessary animation while mashing buttons

You have to remember where the moon is. Knowing its position you will be able to find Rom
run in opposite direction from the moon , see the first patch of little spiders ,turn right

Bloodborne speedruns actually have a really high-skill cap since the game runs at 10 fps and loading times are basicly everlasting.
