My 11 year old granddaughter and I made this cake today. Actually, she made it while I watched. It's the perfect recipe for a beginner and boy is it delicious. Hard not to eat the whole thing. Next time I'll use pecans in the frosting. We used walnuts because that's what I had on hand. Definitely a keeper recipe. Thank you for sharing it.
Made this, it's fabulous! Didn't have a can of evaporated milk, but made some up from milk powder, using 40% less water than normal. And, I toasted the coconut and pecans in the air fryer. Easy peasy and truly like doing nuthin!!

Here ya go :)) 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cup white granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple with juice (do not drain) Frosting Ingredients: Do not be intimidated by cooking the frosting. It's easy and only takes about 5 minutes and easier than making traditional frosting 1 stick butter or 1/2 cup 1 cup white granulated sugar 3/4 cup evaporated milk 1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts 1 1/2 cup shredded coconut, we toasted for a more intense nutty flavor but this is not required for this irresistible cake Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract and pineapple. Stir with a spoon to combine all ingredients. Spray a 9 x 13 or 8 x 11 baking pan with cooking spray and add batter. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 -35 minutes until the center tests done. Make frosting below and poke holes in hot cake with a wooden spoon. Frosting Instructions: Bring butter, sugar and milk to a boil in a pan on top of the stove. Cook and stir about 3 minutes. Remove from stove and stir in nuts and coconut. Pour over hot cake. My grandmother (from NC) used to have a few recipes for Dump Cakes that used box cake mixes; I like that this is a similar concept bit from scratch.

You can make this cake with 20 ounce can of anything…..fruit cocktail, diced peaches etc….but the tastiest is pineapple

I watched this video thinking that it was a simple recipe that I could throw together for Sunday dinner. With all the steps and ingredients, I don't think I'd name this dessert "Do Nuthin" cake. Looks like you are doing a lot of "somethin". lol

Hello, thank you for stopping by. Here ya go :)) 2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 20 ounce can crushed pineapple with juice (do not drain)
Frosting Ingredients:
Do not be intimidated by cooking the frosting. It's easy and only takes about 5 minutes and easier than making traditional frosting
1 stick butter or 1/2 cup
1 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts
1 1/2 cup shredded coconut, we toasted for a more intense nutty flavor but this is not required for this irresistible cake
Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract and pineapple. Stir with a spoon to combine all ingredients. Spray a 9 x 13 or 8 x 11 baking pan with cooking spray and add batter. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 -35 minutes until the center tests done. Make frosting below and poke holes in hot cake with a wooden spoon.
Frosting Instructions:
Bring butter, sugar and milk to a boil in a pan on top of the stove. Cook and stir about 3 minutes. Remove from stove and stir in nuts and coconut. Pour over hot cake.

We need to know how much for every ingredient you used in the dish listed under the ingredients.
