My mother used to make this cake in the 1950’s, the recipe was called Hot Fudge Cake! I’m so happy to have found this!

I love you! You remind me of my Grandma and how she cooked. I grew up in the south, and my southern accent returns after I watch your videos. I love all the southern recipes you make. They bring back so many memories of my childhood. Thank you! I'd buy you a biscuit, any day!

This recipe has been in our family for generations, we have always called it fudge float. I am a chocoholic and this always satisfies.
Mom made that recipe, but it was not a 9 x 13 pan, it was a smaller version - 8 x 8. Still great with a scoop of ice cream or whip cream on top! Really brings back memories. :)

I used to make this all of the time when I was small, always my favorite so my mom taught me how to make it when I was about 10 years old. Fast forward years and years..... I never had any children of my own so it is just me and my hubby. My hubby really does not eat sweets so I don't make it much anymore. I figured out that when I do make it, every time I go into the kitchen for whatever, I will take a bite or two, it never lasts more than a couple of days. Also, it is just not as good with gluten free flour.

Well thank you, because I remember it the same way...I found this version of "pudding cake" in a box (think it was made by Sherrif) with 2 pouches...1 was the cake part that you mixed and spread on the bottom, then pouch number 2 you sprinkled on top and then poured boiling water on top...and that made the sauce while baking in the oven...simple

Oh my gosh, you remind me of my momma. She passed away two years ago on August 15, 2021. Yesterday was such a hard day, I did nothing but it didn’t help my children moved over 2,000 miles away last week. I’m so glad I found this video.

I guess this is a dump cake, but I understand not wanting to call it a chocolate dump. A bit too much for my sense of humor. But this looks so good. I just found your channel and subscribed, went right to the kitchen to make this Chocolate Cobbler. I watched a 2nd time to write down ingredients, amounts and directions. I still have water floating above the cobbler after 40 minutes! I still hope it comes out. 2 1/4 c boiling water...

It seemed so odd, I had to try it, I think cobbler is a better name.
It is more descriptive than Hot Fudge Cake cause
