I tried to do as much research as I could on the topic for this video but there is still some points that I am Incorrect about that others have pointed out in the comments. I urge you to read through other peoples opinions in the comment section to get a more detailed description of things I missed, sorry I couldn’t provide more accurate information myself but also thank you to the community for helping elaborate on points i may have gotten wrong.
He left it open in interviews. Saying they don't currently have plans, but that it was still a possibility at some point. They'll probably decide whether or not to based on the response to the first dlc. Even despite all the salty, entitled whining & complaining at launch, it was a big release. 5 million plus copies is great for a dlc. A Godwyn death realm that feels like a spiritual successor to Bloodborne would be epic
I doubt it would take that long 😂 If anything it would be something small like $20 or even a free update (perhaps adding a Godwyn bossfight that we teleport to from St Trina's infinite sleep)
I'd say this was ER's ashes of ariendel, like 7 bosses, 2 remembrances at most like godwyn and maybe a godwyns memory of fortisax that drops other lightning spells or smth.

While true, most of the places mentioned are kinda just in the background like Dark Souls and I doubt we'll see any of it in new Elden Ring content (Like how we never went to Carim in any DLCs for example) The Lands Between in the world of Elden Rings seems very similar in nature to Boletaria in Demon's Souls to me
Yeah and 5 million in 3 days , plus who knows how many people also bought the base game with it . I don't think this motivates miyazaki himself since doesn't like sequels and he abandoned dark souls , when dark souls 4 was guaranteed to be a massive hit . But i'm sure we'll see more elden ring , whether with sequels or different mediums like a tv show
I think they are done with Elden Ring as a game. It was mentioned that Shadow of the Erdtree was supposed to be broken up into 2 separate DLCs, but due to exploration of a vast world being a core part of the base game, they decided to make it one dlc. It was also mentioned that Fromsoft is looking at the possibility of making an Elden Ring tv show. I'm just disappointed that we never got a fight with Godwyn.
Would love a free update with a boss rush and maybe adding in a new ending for miquella. But don’t think we are getting another DLC as big as Erdtree. I’d love it but, I feel like the man wants to move on to something new.
A few points that I want to make: 1. People datamined the base game and found a questline with Miquella cut, including his unique ending called the Age of Abundance iirc. Malenia was also originally an NPC that you could interact with, and there were two cut NPCs, one was Redeemer Guilbert who served the God of Vengeance and tasked you with helping him slay a few people, with the last one being Malenia in order to avenge Radahn, although he dies of Scarlet Rot after the battle. 2. There were clues in the base game that the story of Godwyn wasn’t over yet, with Castle Sol apparently being one big plan by Miquella to resurrect him. So considering that Miquella was cut from the base game, people like myself figured that the DLC would expand on Miquella and involve him resurrecting Godwyn. We were half right, although I think it was supposed to be Godwyn instead of Radahn but they changed their minds for some reason, since some things not only seem clearly retconned but also they added new enemies who are there awaiting the return of Godwyn in a new body… why add them? Maybe they are saving Godwyn for the last DLC or maybe the sequel. 3. Maybe Marika did have to become a spirit to ascend to godhood like Miquella did. And while part of Miquella became St. Trina, a part of her became Radagon. She probably needed Godfrey to fight for her since she physically could not, and Miquella would need Radahn to fight for him as well. Maybe also her marrying Radagon was her trying to rejoin her two halves to escape godhood? St. Trina said godhood was a trap, and Marika became disillusioned with the Greater Will. I can point out that Marika married Radagon after banishing Godfrey, and she said that him and the Tarnished would return one day when she needed them. So she was planning something before the Shattering.
As far as counter points to number 2: we’ve seen in past souls games plenty of worshippers waiting for someone’s return or worshipping someone not introduced entirely. They are added there for misdirection often in story telling. it doesn’t really seem retconned regarding the radahn choice (although it was not an exciting one and they could’ve changed it possibly to Godwyn). We know from the sprit we talk to regarding castle sol, that before miquella abandoned the golden order, he had failed the ritual eclipse/had prayed for it, to bring Goldwyn back/put him to rest. The game spoke to his “fundamental” approach to things and that failed as well as creating a new erdtree which was also before the abandonment of the order from what Rogier told us. It speaks to miquellas end game of resorting to non fundamental ways to change the world even if his world was considered “age of compassion” it was by illusion. If Godwyns soul was able to be brought back, then that contradicts and retcons what we know about the destined death rune and how assassins were able to kill him which leaves even more ambiguity surrounding the story since it can be so easily rewritten. Godwyn was the golden child essentially with no known curse or affliction form the outer gods like the children after him. In a way it’s interesting because we hear how kind he was and loves and essentially the perfect heir so it’s quite fitting he died as being an essentially perfect heir, forcing us into different endings we can choose that aren’t perfect and have pros and cons or just cons. The idea of perfection that is Godwyn can’t exist and can only be pondered. I do wish it wasn’t radahn he chose but with what exists in lore, it would mess up even more with Godwyn as well.
What if we get a past dlc like artorias of the abyss where we get to meet ranni in her original body, defeat godwyn, find out more about the gloam eyed queen and eventually lead to the events that would cause the shattering? Imagine the actual history being misremembered or hidden and it was actually a lone tarnished who ended up causing the shattering
I agree that the story of Elden Ring definitely seems like there should be more, so only looking at that it suggests a DLC or a sequel. But for the "we have several things planned" in 2022. Well it was also said in another interview that Shadow of the Erdtree was originally multiple DLCs that were combined. Then for the "we don't want to snuff out that possibility" might be hinting at other Elden Ring IP content but not necessarily more game content, imo it's most likely a movie or TV show. So yeah I don't think another DLC is likely at all, though a sequel might possibly be years down the road.
The TV series has already been essentially confirmed by GRRM on his blig a couple weeks ago. This will be the continuation, I highly doubt they are going to spend another 2 years on developing Elden Ring DLC when they are currently working on 2 other games. Splitting their workforce to keep working on Elden Ring will just make their next games worse, that is a terrible trade-off. Elden Ring is done. None of their games have ever tied up all the loose ends, youre supposed to fill in the gaps yourself and the headcannon you have is always the correct answer.
For anyone who is thinks Godwyn will be in the next dlc I’m sorry but his story was finished in the Fia quest line. Only his soul is dead so he can’t be resurrected and his rebirth was as the mending rune of the death prince. Him being a dlc wouldn’t make any sense and would break Fia’s questline
My only additional thought to Miyazaki's comment about considering other ideas/projects regarding Elden Ring is the release of non-videogame projects that continue to tell the extended world of Elden Ring such as the official release of the Manga (The Road to the Erdtree which FYI is just a gag non-canon manga but still an official release), potential novelization and then most recently hinted, a streaming series or movie. But yes I would love a second DLC or full game.
I didn’t know about the manga/novel side of things that actually sounds interesting, I have heard about the talks of making a show or movie of sorts and that would be INSANE I’m all here for that, I think something like that would focus more on pre shattering / the shattering events though so they could keep telling current timeline stories with new content
There maybe a tv show which would likely involve GRRM so it should be pretty good but I dunno movies and tv shows are kinda in your face with the lore, fromsoft prefers obtuse and indirect lore. I’d think an anime would be more fitting. For one, while Bloodborne is definitely the most “horror” of them all fromsofts designs from Demons souls to Elden ring were always rather dark and disturbing design elements and I just think an anime would be a better medium to communicate that art style.
I think Miyazaki has indicated that he wants to take a step back as being the final say on every decision like Todd Howard and allow his subordinates to make their own, smaller games, which I think is the best way to go. They might have enough talent and resources to make another DLC or sequel, but I'd rather they'd try to put out a couple of other new games in succession that deviate from the formula as much as Bloodborne and Sekiro did, as well as the next major iteration (maybe that magic only leak actually turns out to be true).
There is definitely space to touch on a dlc about Death in general, like Godwyn, Gloam Eyed Queen and Ghostflame its the only part of the story that is left out
man, there's literally land in the game, around the main continent that the game takes place on. You can come to the edge of the map, especially in the north and east, and it is clearly visible. That is, there are continents in Landsbetween other than those we have seen. We also know that there is a Badlands with crazy monsters who defeated Godfrey and Serosh. Also in the game there was a mention of a place Beyond the fog from where our tarnished one came into Landsbetween. And we know from DLC, that in other side of Divine gates lay lands of gods and divine beasts, we also had entering point there now. So there are still places that we know about and have not seen. And I would also like to see DLC about Godfrey’s campaign in the badlands, as well as find out the fate of Godwin, who was generously shown to us both in the main game and in the DLC

Its description says: The face of one who wanders the seas in search of their home in the Lands Between. There are no internal seas within the playable continent. This means that Lands Between includes other lands separated from the capital continent by seas. I think that Lands Between is a planet or layer of reality, the boundaries between which are not physical or figurative
I want a dlc where we go back in time to the shattering shit would be fun to fight the prime version of all the bosses and possibly chamge the fate of the lands between and make our own ending instead of enforcing others orders
ER was "complete" in base game and I thought that the dlc would give us solace with some loose ends but it added more confusion to the whole mess. Now we NEED an additional DLC
I would love an Elden Ring second DLC but the problem is that I don't see where they would go. Elden Ring base game had the obvious loose canon of Miquella where we don't know what he was doing, and what his end goal was. We also had many, many questions about the origin of the crucible, whether Melina was a demigod or some aspect of Marika, or the Gloam Eyed Queen, The omen, Marika's backstory, etc, The DLC answered the vast majority of the big questions we had from the base game either directly or indirectly. The only area where I can see them expanding on is Divinity/ the Outer Gods, which still remain a massive enigma .
I believe a future DLC 2 will have to expand on Godwyn and complete his story. I also believe they have to complete the story of Melina and the "Gloam-Eyed Queen". I have no idea what they would do for a setting for this, but I do think they would out-do themselves if the actions we take in the DLCs bleed over into the base game story. For example, if we complete Shadow of the Erdtree before fighting Melania, she would have a different ending or harder phase 2 of her fight (or both preferably), since she would rightly be exceptionally angry at us for killing her brother whom she was sworn to protect.

Dlc or sequel, i think it would be pretty dumb for from soft to abandon their biggest game yet and not release anything ever, so i do believe we will be getting something in the future, most definitely

I think FromSoftware can easily make prequel to ER during early years of Eardtree, the game will involve fighting hornsent forces, giants, Raya lucaria, dragons, Gloam-eyed queen. The prequel will end when we lose Grace and get banished with Godfrey and other tarnished. Or devs can make a prequel during shatering wars. Well, if they're planning to make another DLC, they can involve Remembrances instead of timetravel. Same way Sekiro made Hirata Estate location -> we do not travel there, we simply get into memory of the Hirata Estate. Well what if we use Godwyn's or someone else's rememberence! What if we repeat Godwyn/Godfrey/Radahn/Radagon/Malenia/Maliketh's achievements using their remembrance's memory.
No, Elden Ring is most likely done, as said by Miyazaki, but they’re leaving it open if they want to come back in the future. But that would be in a long time and more likely to be Elden Ring 2. Also the DLC was originally supposed to be more than 1 DLC, but they combined the 2 to make it more like the base game. It’s most likely Miyazaki’s next game will be a new IP.
In regards to the “the DLCs shouldn’t require you to play one to play the other.” I don’t know if ds3 forced you to buy both but you would have absolutely no idea who Gael is if you didn’t play ahead of ariendel and on top of that, beating ringed city gives you an item that you take back to the painter found in ashes of ariendel which changes the ending of the game and entire dark souls trilogy
Here's what I think you *could* do with an idea for another Elden Ring game, let's say this is a prequel for convenience's sake: You could explore the Lands Between before the Shattering when Caelid for example was still a beautiful - albeit dangerous - landscape, maybe we could meet the Gloam Eyed Queen through a prequel like this as a late game boss. Or even if it was a sequel, what if we met the new Lord of Blasphemy and there's no Storm Ruler? What if deathblight had progressed so much that much of the land is untreadable? Being reduced to the few peaks and plateaus left surrounded by a canopy of gigantic thorns and ravenous worms - Maybe these specific ideas don't tie in to Elden Ring's theme well enough to intrinsically justify it's own content but my point is that the world has been built so thoroughly that there's an abundance of potential ideas that Miyazaki could work with if he really wanted to make an Elden Ring 2 (Tbh now I wish there was a mod out there that did what I spit-balled after typing all of it down)

Godwyin needs a dlc His death root is killing the world... We need a way to pick up where miquella left on and cure the death blight. Fighting the blood mommy and deep lore on the gloam eyed queen would be appreciated too

I think elden ring is too successful to leave it forever , i don't think we'll see a 2nd dlc but i feel we will have a sequel even if it's not directed by miyazaki
I thought the same.. somehow they (fromsoft) managed to get cornered with elden ring.. they've build a great lore and the game and dlc developed just 5-10% of that lore.. i doubt people will hype the same way they did for elden ring with any further game or new IP fromsoft will make.. they will be forced to go back with elden ring.. i dont think people are willing to see another game with that much story left behind in elden ring.. money is on elden ring.
@gonzalodelapuente1964 I don't agree with you at all, most of fromsoft' game lore is not completely revealed. And for every fromsoft game there has been a lot of hype and people playing it. So no, they are not forced to make a new game
I think we get a free update for the DLC where we go into the Scadutree and fight Godwyn. Hes the only big Demigod left. His influence is all over the Shadow Lands. 8:50 IIRC this is one of "Marika's Spoken Words" this line is Melina quoting Marika. Its Marika talking to her children. She gives them the option of becoming a Lord, a God, or a Sacrifice.

Time to let Elden Ring rest for awhile. I played the base game, over and over, always having a good time, excited for the DLC. Finally, DLC dropped and I loved it. After I beat all the remembrance bosses. I felt satisfied with the game. Looking forward to FS next game.
Good point but I think those places are on the same map too those could be places thatre just covered by the fog in the outskirts , I also don’t think we’d see a whole sequel game just on one of these places but that’s just me, thanks for the comment 🤝
They still havent done anything with the Gloam Eyed Queen or Melina's eye (from the frenzied flame ending). Also I think Godwyn (or prime Godwyn's ressurection) could also be a factor in a future DLC, especially since Miquella already tried to bring him back at Castle Sol with the Eclipse ritual
That’s insane! There’s so many crazy lore revelations from this DLC, they used death narratively to bring back miquella I wonder if we might ever see sorta the same thing with Melina, that’s definitely a character they could further elaborate on aswell
@@Xuhtigwell, it did confirm that Melina is his sister, so another child of Marika, and it solidifies the idea that she's the gloam Eyed Queen, and also pretty much proves the Butterfly theory. Though it's true, atleast from my findings there is no direct proof that Messmer is an Empyrian himself.

The "be it a lord, be it a god" sentence from the trailer is not directed to us Melina tells us this in the game, but it was originally said from Marika to her children
1:30 I mean, ringed city came out 1 year after ds3's release, and 6 months after ashes of ariendel. In comparison Shadow of the Erdtree took TWO YEARS.
my take on Myazaki’s comments is that FS is 100% planning to expand on current story via the sequel, and depending on the portion of the content they are currently making (I hope they are), they will either launch it as a DLC2 or make an entire new game out of it.
Miyazaki has said he still hasn’t quite made his perfect fantasy RPG yet. I’d rather they make a new game as a new DLC would likely be about 2026 to launch. That’s supposed to be when the new consoles will drop and who knows how PCs will be by then. It’s best to make a new game. Fromsoft always performs best when making a new IP.
Yes. Bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring, all these games have been phenomenal. Dark souls 3 is also great but it was only really necessary because of the travesty that was ds2. My biggest fear is that miyazaki would rather do something else than elden ring 2 so gives the reigns to the drunk madman behind ds2
I love elden ling 3:40 no the elden ring map is not the entire elden ring world. The tarnished literally comes from somewhere else and we are told of the badlands. 🤦♂️ 6:47 they could easily have us travel in the past if they wanted to tell more about marikas story. 8:45 no... we wouldnt ascend to godhood. that's not how it works. 12:00 it was never stated anywhere that messmer is an emperyon. All emperyons are female with the exception of miquella who has a female counterpart.

That’s actually something I didn’t even think about that’s pretty interesting lol, even if that’s true if the amount of content justifies the price then I don’t think it would be a big deal, and it’s not like they’re REQUIRED dlc it’s just there if you want more content
the lands between being all of the elden ring world is incorrect, there are in game references to places like the Land of Reed and The Badlands, most assume that it’s a whole planet but ERs current story just takes place in the Lands Between
What FromSoftware can do (easily) is to make a completely new universe, medieval fantasy, gotchi Victorian, ancient Japan, open world, new title, new IP, better open world, better combat mechanics and same storytelling style and with rich lore. Let's be honest... their formula never fail. It always improves. Or they can make something up and apply the same thing they did in Dark Souls, after thousands of year is time to claim a new elder lord. New tarnished and new layout of the Lands between
The timeline of Elden Ring is all over the place even more so now that the DLC came out, (apparently Messmer knew Radahn which means the crusade happened sometime before the shattering but wayyy after the Luernian Wars becasue Renalla and Radagon had children already) Godwyn and the eclipse is still a plot thread and so is Melina and the Gloam Eyed Queen. There's potential for more story here that could potentially give us a better understanding of the timeline and when certain events happened. However, i dont think we'll get any more and that really sucks.
The “be it a lord, be it a god” line is one of the echoes of marika that melina is able to read to you at graces. Pretty sure the entire line is something like “hear me my beloved children, make of thyselves that which ye desire- be it a lord, be it a god. But if thy fails to make naught of yourself at all, ye shall be forsaken”
Love the video. Also that’s Melina quoting Marika talking about her children. I think the dialogue can be found by resting at the site of grace in the battlefield just outside Leyndell
I think they should be done with it and do a new IP. I’ve got 1600 hours in elden ring and will happily get to 3,000. The game is complete once they do another balance patch
I was hoping for Godwyn as much as the next person but I was really hoping Miquella would not have been made the bad guy at the end of it all, like why couldn't we get a new ending where we side with him?
godwyn should be give a story in a new DLC. for me i still see the fell god of the giants is a phoenix and the kiln is shows its ashes and its gonna resurrect again. there are three divine beasts so far. 1.lion 2. bird 3. should be a snake as its part of the crucible but its forgotten and not mentioned even in the DLC. we only have a faint reference in the potentate village for the shed skin of a snake that looks like rykard's snake and not like messmers.
It would be smart to do another DLC, but it doesn’t need to be as big as SoTE. Another DLC of that size wouldn’t be ready until 2026, and at that point From would just make something new.
About the "be it a lord. Be it a god". That is Melina speaking on behalf of Marika speaking to the Demigods not the Tarnished.. the dialogue can be triggered in Altus Plateau
well. there is supposedly the Land of Reeds in the lore ... which is obviously a disconnected area - still within the same universe though - travelable too, but far away and likely unaffected by the lands between. You can literally look at the "area" lore as Lands between being US and Land of Reeds as Japan- hella far apart and not effecting each other much, as we still have Godwyn to resurrect and no mention of Glome eyed quean, and the world of Numan and Nox which Numan may or may not be same as shaman. And both numan and nox sound like races that arrived and settled in the lands between long ago but originally also came from far away
I’m probably the fifth person to say this but the lands between being called the lands between implies that there is something else out there that it is between we also hear about the land of reeds so there is another hint to another landmass or something else. I’m hoping for a sequel but would settle for another dlc though I won’t be holding my breath.

They should most definitely cover Godwyn, Glome Eye queen/Melina, more backstory on the Outer gods, Frenzy flame. An idea would be kind of melting the three main endings Into the backdrop of this brand new world
Miyazaki has said plenty of times he wants to return to Elden ring. So whilst they said there won’t be a second dlc I doubt that. Miyazaki has bent the truth about his games many times and FromSoft is a business after all, if the game is making this much money they might be told to come back to it. They could either make a second game but that will take more time and Miyazaki wants to make plenty more games, or they could make a second, smaller and more in-depth dlc. We saw Messmer and the Shadowtree and I think we could see Melina and the gloam eyed queen and possibly Godwyn.
I just wanna mention what you kept saying regarding D3 DLC number two. They didn't just magically decide they want to make a second DLC a year and a half later before the game released. They told us and gave us the option to buy the expansion for two DLC's so it was preplanned.

@@BoundLunar For me it's mostly because the ending of the dlc didnt feel complete to me and the fact that St Trina killing us literally serves no purpose at the moment. But theres a theory that Michella and St Trina are the same person in some way. Definitely worth looking into

If you imbue her nectar 4 times, she starts talking to you, asking you to kill Miquella. This provides lore context, letting us know what St Trina feels about Miquella ascending to godhood, and also provides another valid reason for us killing Miquella. St Trina isn't gonna teleport us anywhere that doesn't really make sense icl
I low-key think killing Radahn (not the dlc one) literally has some cosmic horror implications......what was he really holding back. The lands bwtween might get invaded

At first, I thought there was the possibility of another DLC because there's so much more to explore in the lands between, but I sadly think they're going to explore the rest of the world in other forms of media, like a TV show or a manga or an anime etc.

I can see them making an Elden Ring 2, many options for them to play with. Would be dope if they go back in time, primordial crucible times for example. Story aside, perhaps upgrades to engine, animations and other technicalities are also something that i'd like to see. As a player i started from demon souls. Bloodborne was a great fresh take on their systems, Sekiro as well. Elden Ring is the magnus opus of the demon souls systems. But could they improve upon it, even in regards to engine? Also multiplayer improvements, i'm a real sunbro that enjoys helping fight bosses (also lets me refight them!, love that). It's just a bit too inconvenient, as are the menus. Elden Ring 2 could be a true next gen souls game aside from story. Also Miyazaki, i need my Elden Bloodborne pls. Tug some Sony strings.

God i hope not, this DLC had more holes than swiss cheese in the plot and the ending was so shoe horned in, it was painful. Plus theres quite literally nothing left and no one left to kill. Everyone who was apart of the story is dead, aside from Melina in the Frenzy flame ending. There's nowhere left to go or explore that would make sense as an addition to the game or story without completely making new characters and the like up. Unless we go back in time, and not for nothing, they reused enough assets in the DLC, we dont need a 3rd crack at Radahn.
I refuse to believe they made new weapon types for only a handful of weapons for each and that’s it. This might be copium but I choose to believe we get another dlc. To the badlands we go fellow tarnished
In regards to marika and the gateway I think the divine gateway is made out of shaman bodies since their flesh melds well and maybe Mariqa had to sacrifice her village to create the divine gateway to ascend to god hood or her village was used to make it by the horn sent but it would make sense since that’s why there’s no one in her village anymore and that could’ve been the betrayal
In DS3 we can get to the Ringed City either from the end of Ariendel or the Kiln of the First Flame. So maybe the DLC2 access point will be after killing either Miquella or Marika.
The DLC has answered all major questions. There will be no more Elden ring. Financially, the next step should be next gen bloodborne 2 ( Maybe a prequel during Byrgenwerth times) or a whole new franchise like Sekiro/ER.
I tried to do as much research as I could on the topic for this video but there is still some points that I am Incorrect about that others have pointed out in the comments. I urge you to read through other peoples opinions in the comment section to get a more detailed description of things I missed, sorry I couldn’t provide more accurate information myself but also thank you to the community for helping elaborate on points i may have gotten wrong.
He left it open in interviews. Saying they don't currently have plans, but that it was still a possibility at some point. They'll probably decide whether or not to based on the response to the first dlc. Even despite all the salty, entitled whining & complaining at launch, it was a big release. 5 million plus copies is great for a dlc. A Godwyn death realm that feels like a spiritual successor to Bloodborne would be epic

But he doesn’t have a trapped soul. In the night of the black knives he died in soul not body so his soul is dead and not coming back. The rebirth of godwyn was the mending rune of the death prince so he doesn’t need to come back and it wouldn’t make sense

3:26 no, we get several mentions to other lands, the Lands Between are just the continent where the story takes place, it's not the entire world.
While true, most of the places mentioned are kinda just in the background like Dark Souls and I doubt we'll see any of it in new Elden Ring content (Like how we never went to Carim in any DLCs for example) The Lands Between in the world of Elden Rings seems very similar in nature to Boletaria in Demon's Souls to me

I think they are done with Elden Ring as a game. It was mentioned that Shadow of the Erdtree was supposed to be broken up into 2 separate DLCs, but due to exploration of a vast world being a core part of the base game, they decided to make it one dlc.
It was also mentioned that Fromsoft is looking at the possibility of making an Elden Ring tv show.
I'm just disappointed that we never got a fight with Godwyn.

Would love a free update with a boss rush and maybe adding in a new ending for miquella. But don’t think we are getting another DLC as big as Erdtree. I’d love it but, I feel like the man wants to move on to something new.
A few points that I want to make:
1. People datamined the base game and found a questline with Miquella cut, including his unique ending called the Age of Abundance iirc. Malenia was also originally an NPC that you could interact with, and there were two cut NPCs, one was Redeemer Guilbert who served the God of Vengeance and tasked you with helping him slay a few people, with the last one being Malenia in order to avenge Radahn, although he dies of Scarlet Rot after the battle.
2. There were clues in the base game that the story of Godwyn wasn’t over yet, with Castle Sol apparently being one big plan by Miquella to resurrect him. So considering that Miquella was cut from the base game, people like myself figured that the DLC would expand on Miquella and involve him resurrecting Godwyn. We were half right, although I think it was supposed to be Godwyn instead of Radahn but they changed their minds for some reason, since some things not only seem clearly retconned but also they added new enemies who are there awaiting the return of Godwyn in a new body… why add them? Maybe they are saving Godwyn for the last DLC or maybe the sequel.
3. Maybe Marika did have to become a spirit to ascend to godhood like Miquella did. And while part of Miquella became St. Trina, a part of her became Radagon. She probably needed Godfrey to fight for her since she physically could not, and Miquella would need Radahn to fight for him as well. Maybe also her marrying Radagon was her trying to rejoin her two halves to escape godhood? St. Trina said godhood was a trap, and Marika became disillusioned with the Greater Will. I can point out that Marika married Radagon after banishing Godfrey, and she said that him and the Tarnished would return one day when she needed them. So she was planning something before the Shattering.
As far as counter points to number 2: we’ve seen in past souls games plenty of worshippers waiting for someone’s return or worshipping someone not introduced entirely. They are added there for misdirection often in story telling. it doesn’t really seem retconned regarding the radahn choice (although it was not an exciting one and they could’ve changed it possibly to Godwyn). We know from the sprit we talk to regarding castle sol, that before miquella abandoned the golden order, he had failed the ritual eclipse/had prayed for it, to bring Goldwyn back/put him to rest. The game spoke to his “fundamental” approach to things and that failed as well as creating a new erdtree which was also before the abandonment of the order from what Rogier told us. It speaks to miquellas end game of resorting to non fundamental ways to change the world even if his world was considered “age of compassion” it was by illusion. If Godwyns soul was able to be brought back, then that contradicts and retcons what we know about the destined death rune and how assassins were able to kill him which leaves even more ambiguity surrounding the story since it can be so easily rewritten. Godwyn was the golden child essentially with no known curse or affliction form the outer gods like the children after him. In a way it’s interesting because we hear how kind he was and loves and essentially the perfect heir so it’s quite fitting he died as being an essentially perfect heir, forcing us into different endings we can choose that aren’t perfect and have pros and cons or just cons. The idea of perfection that is Godwyn can’t exist and can only be pondered. I do wish it wasn’t radahn he chose but with what exists in lore, it would mess up even more with Godwyn as well.

What if we get a past dlc like artorias of the abyss where we get to meet ranni in her original body, defeat godwyn, find out more about the gloam eyed queen and eventually lead to the events that would cause the shattering? Imagine the actual history being misremembered or hidden and it was actually a lone tarnished who ended up causing the shattering
Oh and maybe like an unrotted caelid see gransax alive, seeing old Farum would be cool too but idk if that was there when godwyn and ranni were alive

I agree that the story of Elden Ring definitely seems like there should be more, so only looking at that it suggests a DLC or a sequel. But for the "we have several things planned" in 2022. Well it was also said in another interview that Shadow of the Erdtree was originally multiple DLCs that were combined. Then for the "we don't want to snuff out that possibility" might be hinting at other Elden Ring IP content but not necessarily more game content, imo it's most likely a movie or TV show. So yeah I don't think another DLC is likely at all, though a sequel might possibly be years down the road.

The TV series has already been essentially confirmed by GRRM on his blig a couple weeks ago. This will be the continuation, I highly doubt they are going to spend another 2 years on developing Elden Ring DLC when they are currently working on 2 other games.
Splitting their workforce to keep working on Elden Ring will just make their next games worse, that is a terrible trade-off. Elden Ring is done. None of their games have ever tied up all the loose ends, youre supposed to fill in the gaps yourself and the headcannon you have is always the correct answer.
For anyone who is thinks Godwyn will be in the next dlc I’m sorry but his story was finished in the Fia quest line. Only his soul is dead so he can’t be resurrected and his rebirth was as the mending rune of the death prince. Him being a dlc wouldn’t make any sense and would break Fia’s questline
My only additional thought to Miyazaki's comment about considering other ideas/projects regarding Elden Ring is the release of non-videogame projects that continue to tell the extended world of Elden Ring such as the official release of the Manga (The Road to the Erdtree which FYI is just a gag non-canon manga but still an official release), potential novelization and then most recently hinted, a streaming series or movie. But yes I would love a second DLC or full game.
I didn’t know about the manga/novel side of things that actually sounds interesting, I have heard about the talks of making a show or movie of sorts and that would be INSANE I’m all here for that, I think something like that would focus more on pre shattering / the shattering events though so they could keep telling current timeline stories with new content
There maybe a tv show which would likely involve GRRM so it should be pretty good but I dunno movies and tv shows are kinda in your face with the lore, fromsoft prefers obtuse and indirect lore. I’d think an anime would be more fitting. For one, while Bloodborne is definitely the most “horror” of them all fromsofts designs from Demons souls to Elden ring were always rather dark and disturbing design elements and I just think an anime would be a better medium to communicate that art style.
I think Miyazaki has indicated that he wants to take a step back as being the final say on every decision like Todd Howard and allow his subordinates to make their own, smaller games, which I think is the best way to go. They might have enough talent and resources to make another DLC or sequel, but I'd rather they'd try to put out a couple of other new games in succession that deviate from the formula as much as Bloodborne and Sekiro did, as well as the next major iteration (maybe that magic only leak actually turns out to be true).

There is definitely space to touch on a dlc about Death in general, like Godwyn, Gloam Eyed Queen and Ghostflame its the only part of the story that is left out
man, there's literally land in the game, around the main continent that the game takes place on. You can come to the edge of the map, especially in the north and east, and it is clearly visible. That is, there are continents in Landsbetween other than those we have seen. We also know that there is a Badlands with crazy monsters who defeated Godfrey and Serosh. Also in the game there was a mention of a place Beyond the fog from where our tarnished one came into Landsbetween. And we know from DLC, that in other side of Divine gates lay lands of gods and divine beasts, we also had entering point there now. So there are still places that we know about and have not seen. And I would also like to see DLC about Godfrey’s campaign in the badlands, as well as find out the fate of Godwin, who was generously shown to us both in the main game and in the DLC

Its description says: The face of one who wanders the seas in search of their home in the Lands Between. There are no internal seas within the playable continent. This means that Lands Between includes other lands separated from the capital continent by seas. I think that Lands Between is a planet or layer of reality, the boundaries between which are not physical or figurative
I want a dlc where we go back in time to the shattering shit would be fun to fight the prime version of all the bosses and possibly chamge the fate of the lands between and make our own ending instead of enforcing others orders

ER was "complete" in base game and I thought that the dlc would give us solace with some loose ends but it added more confusion to the whole mess. Now we NEED an additional DLC
I would love an Elden Ring second DLC but the problem is that I don't see where they would go.
Elden Ring base game had the obvious loose canon of Miquella where we don't know what he was doing, and what his end goal was. We also had many, many questions about the origin of the crucible, whether Melina was a demigod or some aspect of Marika, or the Gloam Eyed Queen, The omen, Marika's backstory, etc, The DLC answered the vast majority of the big questions we had from the base game either directly or indirectly.
The only area where I can see them expanding on is Divinity/ the Outer Gods, which still remain a massive enigma .
I believe a future DLC 2 will have to expand on Godwyn and complete his story. I also believe they have to complete the story of Melina and the "Gloam-Eyed Queen". I have no idea what they would do for a setting for this, but I do think they would out-do themselves if the actions we take in the DLCs bleed over into the base game story. For example, if we complete Shadow of the Erdtree before fighting Melania, she would have a different ending or harder phase 2 of her fight (or both preferably), since she would rightly be exceptionally angry at us for killing her brother whom she was sworn to protect.

I think FromSoftware can easily make prequel to ER during early years of Eardtree, the game will involve fighting hornsent forces, giants, Raya lucaria, dragons, Gloam-eyed queen. The prequel will end when we lose Grace and get banished with Godfrey and other tarnished. Or devs can make a prequel during shatering wars.
Well, if they're planning to make another DLC, they can involve Remembrances instead of timetravel. Same way Sekiro made Hirata Estate location -> we do not travel there, we simply get into memory of the Hirata Estate. Well what if we use Godwyn's or someone else's rememberence! What if we repeat Godwyn/Godfrey/Radahn/Radagon/Malenia/Maliketh's achievements using their remembrance's memory.
No, Elden Ring is most likely done, as said by Miyazaki, but they’re leaving it open if they want to come back in the future. But that would be in a long time and more likely to be Elden Ring 2. Also the DLC was originally supposed to be more than 1 DLC, but they combined the 2 to make it more like the base game. It’s most likely Miyazaki’s next game will be a new IP.
We need a Marika and Godwyn based dlc. To wrap up the story in full. And for 2nd game we shoud go to Ranni's moon and start anew
In regards to the “the DLCs shouldn’t require you to play one to play the other.” I don’t know if ds3 forced you to buy both but you would have absolutely no idea who Gael is if you didn’t play ahead of ariendel and on top of that, beating ringed city gives you an item that you take back to the painter found in ashes of ariendel which changes the ending of the game and entire dark souls trilogy
Here's what I think you *could* do with an idea for another Elden Ring game, let's say this is a prequel for convenience's sake: You could explore the Lands Between before the Shattering when Caelid for example was still a beautiful - albeit dangerous - landscape, maybe we could meet the Gloam Eyed Queen through a prequel like this as a late game boss. Or even if it was a sequel, what if we met the new Lord of Blasphemy and there's no Storm Ruler? What if deathblight had progressed so much that much of the land is untreadable? Being reduced to the few peaks and plateaus left surrounded by a canopy of gigantic thorns and ravenous worms - Maybe these specific ideas don't tie in to Elden Ring's theme well enough to intrinsically justify it's own content but my point is that the world has been built so thoroughly that there's an abundance of potential ideas that Miyazaki could work with if he really wanted to make an Elden Ring 2 (Tbh now I wish there was a mod out there that did what I spit-balled after typing all of it down)

Time to let Elden Ring rest for awhile. I played the base game, over and over, always having a good time, excited for the DLC. Finally, DLC dropped and I loved it. After I beat all the remembrance bosses. I felt satisfied with the game. Looking forward to FS next game.

They still havent done anything with the Gloam Eyed Queen or Melina's eye (from the frenzied flame ending). Also I think Godwyn (or prime Godwyn's ressurection) could also be a factor in a future DLC, especially since Miquella already tried to bring him back at Castle Sol with the Eclipse ritual

Miyazaki already said this was the first and last dlc elden ring would get. I even doubt we will get an elden ring 2
my take on Myazaki’s comments is that FS is 100% planning to expand on current story via the sequel, and depending on the portion of the content they are currently making (I hope they are), they will either launch it as a DLC2 or make an entire new game out of it.
Miyazaki has said he still hasn’t quite made his perfect fantasy RPG yet. I’d rather they make a new game as a new DLC would likely be about 2026 to launch. That’s supposed to be when the new consoles will drop and who knows how PCs will be by then. It’s best to make a new game. Fromsoft always performs best when making a new IP.

Yes. Bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring, all these games have been phenomenal. Dark souls 3 is also great but it was only really necessary because of the travesty that was ds2. My biggest fear is that miyazaki would rather do something else than elden ring 2 so gives the reigns to the drunk madman behind ds2

the lands between being all of the elden ring world is incorrect, there are in game references to places like the Land of Reed and The Badlands, most assume that it’s a whole planet but ERs current story just takes place in the Lands Between

What FromSoftware can do (easily) is to make a completely new universe, medieval fantasy, gotchi Victorian, ancient Japan, open world, new title, new IP, better open world, better combat mechanics and same storytelling style and with rich lore. Or they can make something up and apply the same thing they did in Dark Souls, after thousands of year is time to claim a new elder lord. New tarnished and new layout of the Lands between

The timeline of Elden Ring is all over the place even more so now that the DLC came out, (apparently Messmer knew Radahn which means the crusade happened sometime before the shattering but wayyy after the Luernian Wars becasue Renalla and Radagon had children already) Godwyn and the eclipse is still a plot thread and so is Melina and the Gloam Eyed Queen. There's potential for more story here that could potentially give us a better understanding of the timeline and when certain events happened. However, i dont think we'll get any more and that really sucks.
The “be it a lord, be it a god” line is one of the echoes of marika that melina is able to read to you at graces. Pretty sure the entire line is something like “hear me my beloved children, make of thyselves that which ye desire- be it a lord, be it a god. But if thy fails to make naught of yourself at all, ye shall be forsaken”

I think they should be done with it and do a new IP. I’ve got 1600 hours in elden ring and will happily get to 3,000. The game is complete once they do another balance patch

godwyn should be give a story in a new DLC. for me i still see the fell god of the giants is a phoenix and the kiln is shows its ashes and its gonna resurrect again. there are three divine beasts so far. 1.lion 2. bird 3. should be a snake as its part of the crucible but its forgotten and not mentioned even in the DLC. we only have a faint reference in the potentate village for the shed skin of a snake that looks like rykard's snake and not like messmers.

It would be smart to do another DLC, but it doesn’t need to be as big as SoTE. Another DLC of that size wouldn’t be ready until 2026, and at that point From would just make something new.

well. there is supposedly the Land of Reeds in the lore ... which is obviously a disconnected area - still within the same universe though - travelable too, but far away and likely unaffected by the lands between. You can literally look at the "area" lore as Lands between being US and Land of Reeds as Japan- hella far apart and not effecting each other much, as we still have Godwyn to resurrect and no mention of Glome eyed quean, and the world of Numan and Nox which Numan may or may not be same as shaman. And both numan and nox sound like races that arrived and settled in the lands between long ago but originally also came from far away

I’m probably the fifth person to say this but the lands between being called the lands between implies that there is something else out there that it is between we also hear about the land of reeds so there is another hint to another landmass or something else. I’m hoping for a sequel but would settle for another dlc though I won’t be holding my breath.

If there's a second dlc, it's probably going to be insanely easy due to the people who whined about the difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree.
They should most definitely cover Godwyn, Glome Eye queen/Melina, more backstory on the Outer gods, Frenzy flame. An idea would be kind of melting the three main endings Into the backdrop of this brand new world

Miyazaki has said plenty of times he wants to return to Elden ring. So whilst they said there won’t be a second dlc I doubt that. Miyazaki has bent the truth about his games many times and FromSoft is a business after all, if the game is making this much money they might be told to come back to it.
They could either make a second game but that will take more time and Miyazaki wants to make plenty more games, or they could make a second, smaller and more in-depth dlc. We saw Messmer and the Shadowtree and I think we could see Melina and the gloam eyed queen and possibly Godwyn.

I just wanna mention what you kept saying regarding D3 DLC number two. They didn't just magically decide they want to make a second DLC a year and a half later before the game released. They told us and gave us the option to buy the expansion for two DLC's so it was preplanned.

If you imbue her nectar 4 times, she starts talking to you, asking you to kill Miquella. This provides lore context, letting us know what St Trina feels about Miquella ascending to godhood, and also provides another valid reason for us killing Miquella. St Trina isn't gonna teleport us anywhere that doesn't really make sense icl

At first, I thought there was the possibility of another DLC because there's so much more to explore in the lands between, but I sadly think they're going to explore the rest of the world in other forms of media, like a TV show or a manga or an anime etc.

@@DyIanGamingI think the whole lore behind the egg being hers and radagons child could be really interesting to elaborate on, it would be kinda hard to tie into the current story because if it theoretically did ‘hatch’ whatever it is wouldn’t be fully grown(atleast I think), overall idk how it would tie in but the character could’ve been really dope if they ever fleshed it out, as far as rebirth I know the egg technically does it but that could easily just switch over to rennala doing it herself somehow

I can see them making an Elden Ring 2, many options for them to play with. Would be dope if they go back in time, primordial crucible times for example. Story aside, perhaps upgrades to engine, animations and other technicalities are also something that i'd like to see. As a player i started from demon souls. Bloodborne was a great fresh take on their systems, Sekiro as well. Elden Ring is the magnus opus of the demon souls systems. But could they improve upon it, even in regards to engine? Also multiplayer improvements, i'm a real sunbro that enjoys helping fight bosses (also lets me refight them!, love that). It's just a bit too inconvenient, as are the menus. Elden Ring 2 could be a true next gen souls game aside from story. Also Miyazaki, i need my Elden Bloodborne pls. Tug some Sony strings.

God i hope not, this DLC had more holes than swiss cheese in the plot and the ending was so shoe horned in, it was painful. Plus theres quite literally nothing left and no one left to kill. Everyone who was apart of the story is dead, aside from Melina in the Frenzy flame ending. There's nowhere left to go or explore that would make sense as an addition to the game or story without completely making new characters and the like up. Unless we go back in time, and not for nothing, they reused enough assets in the DLC, we dont need a 3rd crack at Radahn.

I think there will be a sequel and will delve into bad lands. Why did Godfrey go there, and what was strong enough to kill him?
In regards to marika and the gateway I think the divine gateway is made out of shaman bodies since their flesh melds well and maybe Mariqa had to sacrifice her village to create the divine gateway to ascend to god hood or her village was used to make it by the horn sent but it would make sense since that’s why there’s no one in her village anymore and that could’ve been the betrayal

In DS3 we can get to the Ringed City either from the end of Ariendel or the Kiln of the First Flame. So maybe the DLC2 access point will be after killing either Miquella or Marika.

Financially, the next step should be next gen bloodborne 2 ( Maybe a prequel during Byrgenwerth times) or a whole new franchise like Sekiro/ER.
