One Tin Soldier - Coven (Original Stereo)

1971 Movie Soundtrack Version.
Solo vocal, by U.S. based ‘Esther ‘Jinx’ Dawson’, recorded specifically for the opening credits of the motion picture, ‘Billy Jack’, but attributed to her occult rock band, ‘Coven’.
This number was not written for the ‘Billy Jack’ film, as the record label suggests, however, it closely followed the arrangement of the original 1969 rendition by Canadian folk group, ‘The Original Caste’.
The 45 single was issued in 1971 by ‘Warner Brothers Records’ and never charted nationally in Australia*.
This is the complete motion picture soundtrack recording (including the fadeout to a cold ending) with its original (3.18) running time.
* Aficionados would note that the ‘Coven’ version that managed to chart in Australia was a similarly arranged and slightly shorter length re-recording, issued (also in 1971) on the ‘MGM’ label.
